H-bomb

The hydrogen bomb is an immensely powerful type of bomb which explodes when the nuclei of deuterium (an isotope of hydrogen) fuse. On January 31, 1950, Truman ordered the development of a hydrogen bomb. In the spring of 1951, they did a developmental test for it. In 1952, eyewitnesses told of blasts near Eniwetok an island in the Pacific Ocean.
