Air Raiders is pretty much a flight simulator game in which you shoot other planes. Considering it was made for the Atari 2600, it's actually a pretty good game too! It's a first person perspective game like many of the driving games for the Atari 2600. You start by using the button to move down the runway. When you get up to speed, you pull back on the joystick to take off. At that point, the button serves as the fire button for you guns. You have a limited amount of ammunition and fuel. After you shoot down 10 planes, you can land to refuel. While shooting other planes, you have to avoid getting hit yourself. Air Raiders was released by both Mattel (as one of their M Network games) and by INTV. Although the games themselves were the same, the labels were slightly different. The INTV label was white with black text and the Mattel label was black with blue text. Both versions are worth about the same and are relatively easy to come by. |
