Haunted House was similar in play to the game Adventure.  You are a pair of eyes wandering around a 24 room mansion (4 floors, 6 rooms on each floor).  The floors are connected by staircases and the rooms are connected by corridors.  Some of the doors are locked, so you have to find the master key to open them.  On the first game variation, you can see the walls, but on all of the other 8 game variations, you are "in the dark".  Your goal is to collect 3 pieces to a magic urn and escape the house without running into tarantulas, vampire bats or the Ghost (the ghost of Zachary "Old Man" Graves).  You can also pick up a scepter which will protect you from harm (you won't loose a life running into a bad guy).  Unlike most games that give you 1, 3 or 5 lives, you have 9 lives in Haunted House.  This game is very common and can be easily found for cheap.
