Max dropped the tickets in shock. Liz, his Liz was in bed with another guy. Not just any guy, but a guy whose life he saved with his own hands. Kyle. His life had finally hit bottom.
Red was the only thing Max was seeing. He needed to leave before he did something drastic. He turned around and climbed down the railing. When he got to his jeep he just sat there and began to think.
He needed to get out of Roswell.
Now.
He needed to go somewhere where he wasn’t an alien king who had a destiny with a blond tramp. He couldn’t even fathom staying here. Everyday he would have to face Liz and Kyle and he just couldn’t do that.
Max started his car and drove home. As soon as he got there Isabel bombarded him with questions.
“Max, I thought you were going to take Liz to the Gomez concert.” Max just walked right past her and headed straight for his room. He needed to pack. He locked his door and began backing the necessary stuff. He had no idea how long he was going to be gone. He had no idea if he was even coming back at all.
Hours passed and finally everyone in the house was asleep. Max quietly called a taxicab and went outside on the front porch to wait. When the cab came he got in the back seat.
“Where ya going kid?” the driver asked him.
“Take me to the Albuquerque airport.” Max replied. He looked once more time at his house.
This was it. He was leaving.
***Part 2***
Max looked at the flight times in front of him. In two hours a plane would be taking off for Miami, Atlanta, Detroit, Denver…and Los Angeles. He didn’t know what this was but all of the sudden something was pulling him to California. For some reason, he knew he had to go there. Something, or someone was waiting.
Max went to the counter and bought a one-way ticket to Los Angeles. When it finally became time to board he got on the plane without a second thought. In Roswell, the air was filled with constant betrayals. Yea, he would miss them, but for now he needed to leave. He needed to become the person who’s supposed to be with out the pressure of people constantly wanting him to be a leader that he just isn’t yet.
As the plane took off he looked out of his window seat.
He had never been on a plane before. As a kid his parents would drive him and Isabel all the way to Florida.
Max sighed when he thought about how it was before the shooting. He had been more normal; he didn’t have a reason to watch his back as much as he did now. Not that he wouldn’t of saved Liz. He would save Liz a thousand times.
Liz.
The single name made Max’s heart clench. She had hurt him so much. He couldn’t believe that she would actually do this to him. Liz was the reason he was leaving.
He loved her, but he needed to let go.

Isabel stormed into the Crashdown and home in on her prey.
Elizabeth Parker.
Isabel and her parents had woken up in a panic. Max was gone and so were some of his things. Right now she wanted to know what the hell Liz had done to her brother.
Liz was sitting at the counter with nothing to do. With the breakfast rush over she had about two hours to kill before things started back up again. She knew her eyes had dark circles around them. She had gotten no sleep at all after what happened last night. She could only hope that one day Max and her could be together again.
Liz looked up when suddenly a fist hit the counter. It was Isabel.
“What the hell did you do to my brother?” Isabel asked, anger seething in her voice.
Hearing the commotion Michael came out from the kitchen and Maria came to Liz’s side. They all went into the back room. Once they were there Isabel began talking again.
“Max is gone, I mean seriously, he left town and I want to know what the hell happened to him last night.”
Liz could barely register what Isabel said after she told them that Max had ditched town.
“Gone?” Maria asked.
“Yes, gone. Yesterday he came home looking like death and this morning we woke up and he was gone.” Isabel said.
Michael began pacing around. “Son of a bitch, I know he would leave one of these days.” He muttered.
Liz heard none of this; she was still in her trance.
God, she had really, really hurt him. Even though she thought he might never talk to her again, she never thought he would just up and go. All the work she did, all the pain, and it was nothing. Liz half expected another Future Max to come in the back room.
Liz snapped out of her thoughts when Maria shook her shoulders.
“We have to call a meeting.”
* * * * *
--1 hour later--
“There’s no trace of him?” Sheriff Valenti asked Isabel. Isabel shook her head.
“Nope, when we had redialed on his phone, the last person he had called was a taxi company.” Isabel told him.
“What I would like to know is what would have made him leave.” Alex asked. Liz and Kyle hung their heads and Isabel turned to Liz.
“That’s why I came here…what did you do Liz?” Isabel asked. All eyes turned to Liz.
“Max saw Kyle and I in a compromising position. But it wasn’t as it seemed.” Liz said. Isabel looked at her spectacle.
“And what position was this in?” When no one answered her she shot Kyle a look that could kill.
“He saw us naked in her sheets.” He said quietly.
Silence.
You could of heard a pin drop. Sheriff Valenti looked about ready to blow his top. Not to mention Michael and Isabel.
Liz took in a breath. “But before you guys kill me I think I should explain…” Liz told her long and heartfelt explanation.
Silence…once again.
“And now he left before you could tell him anything?” Maria asked. Liz nodded. Michael got up from where he was sitting and approached Isabel. “Dream walk him, enter his mind.” He told her.
Isabel nodded and sat down on the couch. After a few minutes she came back up highly frustrated and upset.
“He blocked me…I can’t get in.”
**Part 3**

Max walked along the coast of the beach. As soon as he had gotten of the plane he had come straight to the ocean. He guessed that it would of made a lot more sense to go to a hotel room, but for some reason he came straight to the beach first. The beach felt like home to him.
The crashing waves, the salty air.
This was his home. He just might have to stay here.
Max sat down and just looked around at the people and the environment.
Soon Max wasn’t alone. A man who looked about 60 with white hair approached him. The amazing thing was that he had the same eyes that Max had. Max waited for the man to either say something or go away.
“Hello young King,” the old man said.
Max looked up, startled. “Who are you? What do you know about me?” he asked the man. The man didn’t answer at first, so Max asked again with frustration growing in his voice.
“What do I not know?”
Max rolled his eyes. Great, just what he needed, Yoda. “Okay Yoda, what do you know about me?”
The man said nothing and sat down next to Max. “I know everything… I know why the seas are blue, I know why the sun is yellow, I know why you are hurt, most of all, I know why you are here.” He said cryptically.
Max titled his head. He didn’t exactly know what it was. But already, he would trust this guy with his life.
“Why am I here?”
“Hear beyond, they’re talking to you.”
Max stared into the ocean waiting to hear something. He sat in that position for ten minutes. He was about to give up when he heard a voice speaking to him.
“An ancient prophecy foretells of young boy, a king, who will once be the savior of two planets very far from each other.
The boy is to meet a man who will guide him on a journey to power to defeat his enemies.
The boy will have two chances to make things right. His first chance will not be played out leading into destruction for both planets. By bonding with his destiny too early, his journey will not happen.
In his second chance, his journey will be complete.
To complete this journey, he must spend time away from his destiny, family, and friends.
He must grow.”
Max looked back to the man in shock. “Wh-what was that?”
“You have been told your true destiny,” The man replied.
“Liz…she’s my destiny. I’ve got to go back to Roswell, I have to return to her.” Max said, getting ready to stand up.
The man looked at him sharply. “Did you not listen? If you go back to her your journey will have no meaning.”
Max sat back down. “Is this my first chance?” The man shook his head. “No, this is your second. Your first chance had already played out. But your love, Mesilla, or Liz, has given you up to complete your journey. Only, she had no idea.”
“What? What did she do?”
The man once again became cryptic.
“See beyond. They’re showing you a story.”
Max looked at the ocean once again and waited for the images to come. Five minutes later he was assaulted with images of himself…from the future. Various scenes of what happened to Liz were shown in the ocean. When it was over he turned to the man once again.
“So the world ended because Liz and I bonded to early before I could take my journey.” Max began to understand.
The man nodded.
“And you’re the person I was supposed to meet to take me on this journey?” Once again the man nodded. “Who are you?” Max asked him.
“My name is Lazar, I will be guiding you and teaching you throughout the journey.”
Max nodded. “When can I go be with Liz?”
“You must first complete the journey.” Lazar answered. Max once again became frustrated with Lazar. “And when will I be finished?” he asked.
“I have no idea.” Lazar told him.
“Oookay, does this journey consist of me traveling from place to place?” Lazar shook his head. “No, your journey has nothing to do with traveling the lands. Your journey is helping you find yourself and become a better leader.”
He stood up and motioned for Max to follow him. “Come with me, you’re staying in my home.” Lazar told him. Max picked up his bag and followed Lazar to his silver convertible. “Whoa…this is yours?” Max asked him. Lazar nodded.
“Why live on Earth if you can’t take full advantage of the possibilities.” Max laughed. “That’s what I’ve been trying to tell my family my whole life.”
Lazar drives away from the beach and comes to a house right in LA. Max’s mouth drops open when he sees it. “You…you live HERE?”
It was a mini mansion and it was huge!
“Yes, I do, and it cost me one million human dollars.” Lazar told him. “How come you have so much money?”
“I’ve lived on this planet for awhile now, I’ve learned a few tricks.” Lazar parked the car and went inside. He showed Max to a huge room. When Max was settled in they went to the kitchen to talk.
“Lazar, if Tess…or Ava isn’t my destiny then why did the hologram of my mother say she was?” Max asked him.
“Well, you mother knew nothing of Destiny…your mother didn’t know how evil Ava was.” Lazar told him. Max’s head snapped up.
“Ava was evil?”
“Yes, she, like Vilandra was Kivar’s lover. She told him your secrets. But your mother knew none of this. Ava wasn’t the only one who had a lover. You did too, Mesilla was your true love, but when Ava found out about her, she had her killed.”
“So, Liz is an alien?”
“No, her soul was reborn into a human body.”
Realization began to dawn on Max. “So that’s why I recognized Liz when I got off the bus?” Lazar nodded.
“How do you know so much about me Lazar?”
“Well, I am what you call a seer, I know the past, the future, everything…but I won’t tell you, you must learn as it happens.” Lazar said.
Lazar stood up from his meal. “Tomorrow, you begin training. We must start at once before the Skins prepare their ultimate attack.” “And when is this attack going to happen?” Max asked.
“Not to far.” With that Lazar retired to his room leaving Max to wonder if Lazar was hiding something else from him.

Author: Well if you don't know by now…
Summary: In the future, Max Evans lost a war because of a journey he didn't take fourteen years ago. Now in an altered past Max is finally getting the chance that he needs to grow.

Max woke up feeling different. He was changing somehow. Everything looked and felt different. He couldn't word out the changes, but it defiantly had changed.
Max walked down the stairs to see Lazar already in the kitchen eating breakfast. Max sat down at the table.
"Do you have a phone I could use?" Max asked him. Lazar looked at him.
"That depends…whom are you going to call?" he asked. Max sighed, knowing he couldn't lie to the man, because he would see right through him.
"Look, I have to call my family, they're probably on the toes trying to find me, shouldn't I be able to tell them anything?" Max asked.
Lazar thought for a moment. "Yes, you may call your family, but tell them nothing about your mission. No one must know what you are doing. The phone is in the living room."
Max nodded and walked into the living room. He got to the phone and dialed his house. After two rings someone picked up.
"Hello?" asked Mrs. Evans.
"Hey mom." Max said.
"Oh Lord, Max where are you? Why did you just leave like that? Come home now!"
Max winced. "Mom, I love you, tell Dad and Izzy that I love them too…but I can't come back, not now."
"What do you mean you can't come back right now?" Diane asked, getting more desperate.
"I just can't…I love you mom, don't worry, I'll come back" Diane began talking more so Max did the only thing he could and hung up the phone. If he hadn't he would of told her everything.
Max sullenly walked back into the kitchen.
"I feel so horrible about what I did, I want to tell them so bad." Max said, his voice was thickening with tears.
"I know you do young king…I know."
"Why hasn't Isabel tried to dream walk me yet?" Max asked.
"She has, but since you came here you've been unconsciously blocking her …she can't have free access to your mind." Max nodded. Accepting his answer.
"Don't the others need training too? Why am I the only one?" Max asked, still puzzled over the whole situation.
"Max you're the savior to both Antar and Earth. You are the most powerful, and that means, everyone is looking for you. The others haven't yet reached their full powers either, but you…you are still very far from your potentials needed."
Lazar gave him breakfast and after he had finished eating he began to talk.
"We are going to begin training today. I have to teach you to strengthen your powers, your body, and mind."
Max looked confused. "How are you going to strengthen my mind?" Lazar picked up leather, spiral bounded notebook off the table.
"You're going to start by keeping a journal."
"No. Way." Max said.
"Yes way. You have to keep track of your thoughts, your powers, your trainings, everything. Everyday after you train, you have to write in your journal." Lazar got a stern look on his face that made Max reluctantly take the journal from his hands.
"That's better. Come with me to the basement." Lazar guided Max towards the basement.
"Show me what you can do with your powers." Max began demonstrating all his powers to Lazar.
For the next two hours Max worked on strengthen what he could do with his powers. When he was done he nearly fell over in exhaustion.
"You did good. But we're not done." Lazar spun around and kicked Max in the back.
"What the f*ck?!" Max shouted once he had caught his breath.
"I was testing you Max. You have to be alert, you have to be ready to face everything."
"Okay, okay…damn, talk about a rude awaking."
* * * * *
After Max's training in martial arts and watching his back he went upstairs to retire in his room. He needed to relax. He got out the leather bound journal that Lazar had given him. In all honesty the only reason he actually wanted to do this was because in some way, it made him feel closer to Liz.
November 3rd, 2000
I wonder what Liz is doing now.
I can't stop thinking about her, ever since I've learned about my destiny I can barely think straight. I miss her so much. She must be feeling horrible right now, since she still thinks that I'm probably never coming back again. I don't even know when I'm coming back. Even though the future version of me was a blessing in disguise I still wish that I didn't have to leave her. That I could still hold her in my arms.
I miss everyone. Even though Michael, Isabel and I were fighting I still miss them. Now on to what I'm supposed to be writing about. Training.
Training was defiantly something else. I've never trained like that before…I guess that it drained me, but now…now, I can feel the power surging through me. I've never felt like this before. I don't know how I got through this. Actually I don't know how I got through the pain. Sure Lazar looks old, but he nearly kicked my ass. Actually he did kick my ass.
If this was only the first day, who knows what's to come?
Max

Isabel walked inside the Valenti home where everyone was waiting for her. Everyone was doing their own thing and didn't really pay attention to her entrance.
"Max called."
That caught everyone's attention. "What did he say?" Liz asked.
"Well, my mom answered the phone. Basically all he said was that he can't come back." Isabel informed them.
"Do you think he's being held hostage or something?" Michael asked.
Isabel looked shocked for a moment. Then quickly recovered. "But if he was being held hostage he wouldn't of been able to call."
"Have you been able to dream walk him at all? Or is he still blocking you?" Sheriff Valenti asked.
"He's still blocking me."
"He can't come home, because home has hurt him so much…because we had hurt him so much." Liz said.
Michael rolled his eyes. "Well, why can't he just suck it in…the bastard left us to fight this war by ourselves. He's just a selfish asshole"
Michael's words made Liz snap. "Would you just shut the hell up Michael? How could you be so cruel to him? Max is your best friend and all you can think about is how this effects you? If anyone is a selfish bastard its you!" Liz ran out of the house and drove away.
Inside the house everyone was stunned into silence. They had never heard Liz tell off anybody like that before.
Tess chose that moment to speak. Irritating everyone's ears in the process.
"What do we do now…Michael?"

AN: Song used in this part is "Missing You" by Case.
Max silently combed the sands of the beach. It had been two long months since he had left, and all he wanted to do was go home…go back to Liz. He didn't know how much longer he had left in Los Angeles with Lazar, but all he knew was that spending these months away from Liz had been pure torture.
He missed everybody, Isabel, Michael, his parents, Maria and Alex. Even to an extent he missed Kyle.
He didn't know about Tess though. Lazar said not to worry about her; the truth would be reveled soon enough.
And yet again, Max had no idea what he meant. Understanding Lazar had become easier since his mind has "strengthen" but sometimes the guy was still a mystery.
Max chose a place to sit on the beach that overlooked to ocean. He pulled out a picture of Liz he had kept in his wallet since the day he left Roswell.
God he missed her.
Every day I want to pick up the phone
And tell you that
You're everything I need and more
If only I could find you
Like a cold summer afternoon
Like the snow coming down in June
Like a wedding without a groom
I'm missing you
I'm the desert without the sand
You're the woman without a man
I'm the ring without a hand
I'm missing you
* * * *
Max pulled out his journal. More and more he understood why Liz wrote in a journal. It gave him a sense of peace. Something to confide in.
December 2nd, 2000
It's been two long months since I last saw her.
Since I last got to kiss her.
I hope she'll wait for me, that when I go back she won't be dating some other guy. I hope she'll understand why I couldn't call…why I couldn't tell her anything.
Max's head abruptly snapped up…he heard her…she said something to him.
Thinking he was delusional he closed his journal back up and made a decision for himself…something had to change.
* * * * *
Liz walked into her room and closed the door safely behind her. She had just gone on a date with another person that Maria set her up with.
Obviously, he was no Max.
Everybody she went out with went on the Max-O-Meter. But no one ever got past 2…and the meter went up to ten.
Liz had never wanted to go out on these dates but Maria had forced her to. Liz let out a big sigh. It's been two longs months and it didn't look like he was coming back.
Liz turned on the radio.
Like a cold summer afternoon
Like the snow coming down in June
Like a wedding without a groom
I'm missing you
Liz couldn't hold it anymore. She begun to cry in earnest for the first time since Max had left.
For the past two months she had kept up her brave front and didn't break down. But she couldn't keep it up for longer.
He was gone.
**I love you Max**
I'm the desert without the sand
You're the woman without a man
I'm the ring without a hand
I'm missing you
A Journey To Be Taken, Part 6
When Max stepped inside the house the next night, Lazar looked him over taking in his appearance.
"Max…what's this?" Lazar asked him. He looked at Max's newly pierced ear, and band tattoo on his arm. Max shifted on his feat.
"Um, I needed something new."
"Is that your only tattoo?" Lazar asked him suspiciously.
"Yes." Max quickly replied. He sighed when he saw the unbelieving expression on Lazars face.
"No."
"Let me see the tattoo" Lazar commanded him. Max sighed and then put a small smile on his face. He lifted his shirt and revealed a tattoo on over his heart that said "Liz" in cursive. Lazar pressed his fingers on the bridge of his nose.
"I could scold you right now, but we have more pressing matters at hand."
Max's smile faded quickly. "Like what?" he asked, worry seeping in his voice.
"Kivar is coming to Earth, and it shouldn't be long before he and his followers arrive." Lazar told him.
"When?" Max asked.
"No more than a month, we've got to speed up the trainings. You have to return to Roswell."
Max didn't know how to react…he was so happy that he was finally going home. "When do I leave?" he asked Lazar.
"You leave in two weeks, you need to warn your friends, your fellow warriors."
Max nodded. He wanted to go home so badly and he was finally getting the chance. His mood sobered when he realized that Lazar might not be coming back with him. "Are you coming to Roswell with me?" he asked him.
A flash of regret and pain went thorough Lazars eyes. "Maybe…Max go to the living room so we can prepare for the mind traveling." Max let the matter drop and left. When they were both in the living room Max crossed his legs Indian style and Lazar sat the same way in front of him.
"How far have you been able to go?" he asked Max.
"The farthest I've gotten to was Albuquerque" he replied.
"Well, try to get to Roswell this time." Lazar told him.
Max nodded again and took a deep breath. He closed his eyes and began to visualize the Crashdown Café. He gasped when he realized that he had finally made it inside.
He began to walk around the café. It was empty except for Liz, Michael, Isabel, Alex, Tess, and Kyle were sitting around a table in the middle of the Crash.
"Any news?" he heard Michael ask. He began to notice the change in the group. They all looked extremely tired and sullen. He noticed the changes in Liz and Isabel the most. They looked the worst off.
Max wished that he could go up to Liz and just touch her hair, her skin. But he couldn't do that. Max had quickly learned that he couldn't touch objects, or anything else while he was mind traveling.
"I-I have some news Michael." All attention turned to Isabel, who was speaking.
"I told my parents…everything."
Max gasped and was pulled out of the mind travel. "I got to Roswell. Isabel, she told my parents everything."
Lazar nodded. "They needed to know the truth Max, with the war coming, your parents need to be informed and protected. You can't waste any energy by worrying about weather or not your parents are going to find out about your origins…don't worry, they take the news well."
Max nodded his head in understanding. Lazar got back to business, the training had to be completed in two weeks, and he wasn't sure if it was enough time.
"Let me see how your force field has improved." Lazar told him. Max stood up and held up his green force field.
"Try to make it bigger, cover the whole room."
"I don't think I could do that." Max said. So far he had only been able to cover half of the room, and the room was about half of a professional basketball court.
"Try" Lazar said.
Max once again put up his force field. He began struggling to increase the field's size. Making the field longer was bringing him much pain. He felt as if he was being tortured. His pores began to leak out sweat, and his breathing became erratic as he finally increased the force field. He managed to make the field increase to cover the whole room.
Almost as soon as the force field covered the room it broke. Max fell to his knees in pain. Lazar helpfully led Max to the couch.
"Very good Max, I'll let you rest for the rest of the night, but tomorrow we'll have to work on keeping the field up longer."
Max nodded and Lazar left to go make the nights dinner. When the food was prepared Max acted very sullen. He ate quietly without saying a word.
"What's the matter Max?" Lazar asked him. Max looked up hesitantly before responding.
"There's something your hiding from me, something important…why won't you tell me?"
Lazar looked up in shock. Usually he could tell when big events were about to happen, but he hadn't seen this one coming. The journey was defiantly ending.
Lazar calmly put down his fork. "You're right Max. There is something I'm hiding, and now its time you know the truth."
A Journey To Be Taken, Part 7
{2 hours before Max mind traveled to Roswell}
Isabel entered her house tired after a two-mile walk. She had started walking soon after Max had left Roswell. It helped relieve some of the stress that the days bring.
She ran up to her room and took a quick shower. When she came back down stairs she saw her parents sitting next to each other, apparently waiting for her.
"Mom? Dad?" Isabel asked.
In a somewhat distant voice Diane began talking. "Isabel I need you to explain something for me."
"What mom?"
"When I was passing the bathroom your hair was wet, and when you ran your hands through it and your hair was dry…how did you do it?"
Isabel looked at her parents in shock. Whenever she thought about telling her parents she was never alone and never ambushed.
Her mother must have sensed her distress because she came over to him. "Sweetie, whatever you have to tell us won't make us love you any less," Diane told her.
"Max and I…we're different."
"How are you different?" Philip asked.
"Max and I…we're…hybrids"
"Hybrids?" Diane asked in partial shock.
"Alien/Human hybrids. Like a genetic experiment." Isabel told them. When Isabel caught sight of their stunned reactions she began to panic.
"Don't…don't hate me."
Philip and Diane snapped out of their trance when they heard her dejected tone. They both stood up and grabbed Isabel in a fierce hug.
"Isabel, is that why Max ran way?" Philip asked.
Isabel shook her head. "That's another long story,"
Diane grabbed her hand and led her to the couch. "We've got time.
* * * * *
~Present Time~
Lazar let out a long sigh to prepare him to reveal his huge secret. Max twiddled his thumbs in anticipation. Finally, Lazar began to talk.
"Four Score and Seven year ago," Lazar started off as a joke. He looked at Max and noticed that he didn't find it the least bit funny. 'I guess I'm not supposed to have a sense of humor.'
"Okay, a long time ago on Antar I had an affair with a woman of noble blood. I loved her so much, but she was married, and I was only a common man, so we couldn't be more than secret lovers. Soon I learned that the woman was pregnant, with my kid. When her husband found out that she was pregnant with my child he was furious. He had me exiled from the planet and sent to Earth and claimed my son as his own. Years later when my son was killed in a war, their mother sent him and his sister to Earth and gave me a purpose to have me reunited with my son. King Zan."
Max sat in stunned silence. He needed a second to comprehend everything that Lazar told him.
"You're my father." Max stated. He looked up and caught the small nod of Lazar's head. He didn't know what to feel. A lot of emotions were coursing through him. Mostly anger.
"So you KNEW you were my father and you kept it from me for four months? Why didn't you tell me?"
"I was waiting for the right time Max. I had to start the journey and complete before I told you anything like that."
Max just looked at him before getting up from the table and leaving for his room. Once he was there he slammed his door shut. Max walked towards his bed and sat down on the edge of the bed. He then covered his face with his hands.
He couldn't believe that Lazar would keep something like this from him that was so important. He had trusted him, and he couldn't even tell him that he was his father.
In a way it made sense. From the beginning Max had trusted Lazar with his life. And there was always this family kind of bond between them. But that didn't make it hurt any less.
Max let out a groan. He needed Liz. Liz as always his voice of reason and the person he could talk to when things were particularly going down. Max let his back fall back on his bed.
He couldn't let this get between him and Lazar. He wanted to get to know Lazar as his father and not as his trainer. Max had been getting the feeling that something big was going to happen. And it had something to do with Lazar.
Max got up from his bed and walked down the stairs where he saw Lazar sitting watching his favorite human show 'Friends.' At presence Lazar raised his head.
"Max, I'm sorry that I never told you who I was. I understand that you are upset right now."
"I am upset," Max told him.
Lazar nodded his head. "I understand."
"But, I can't let that get the best of me. I want to get to know the real Lazar."
"Okay, sit down, and I'll let you get to know me."
