Liz laid on her bed, with a smile lit on her face. She was thinking about her Prom. It had been so perfect. Her and Max had won King and Queen. It was like a dream come true to have him look into her eyes, and hold her. As their lips met. Liz nearly fell off her bed, at the sound of tapping at her window. Regaining her composure Liz ran into the corner, grabbing a yellow baseball bat. It was nearly 1:00A.M. Who would be knocking at her window at such an odd hour? Cautiously, she walked over to the window, and glanced to see who was on the other side. Liz felt a wave of relief hit her, when she saw that it was Max. Quickly Liz let him in, from the pouring rain. " Max, is something wrong?" Max wiped the water from his face and nodded. " Max, what is it?" Before Liz could let her mind think of what could possible be wrong with Max, his mouth was touching hers. His hands hugged her tightly to him, as laid her on the bed.
Max pulled away from Liz and smiled. " I missed you too much. I had to touch you. Be with you. That's what was wrong."
Liz smiled and wrapped her hands around his neck. " Now, Mr. Evans. You had me worried that something really terrible was happening."
" So I scared you?" Liz playfully pouted her lips.
" Yeah you really did." Max brought his voice to a deep whisper.
" Well, then Mrs. Parker. For your sake, I should probably stay the night, so that you feel safe, but only for your sake." Liz raised an eyebrow.
" Oh, but of course. " Her and Max laughed, as he began kissing her lips and neck.
Max and Liz woke up to the buzzing of Liz's alarm clock. Max groaned as he reached over and hit the snooze button. " Liz I thought highschool was over." Liz laughed.
" It is, but works not. My shift starts in 15min." Liz began to sit up, but Max wouldn't let her move. " Okay Evans. I have to get ready for work. " Max began kissing her neck.
" No you don't."
" Max, if you keep this up, I won't make my shift." Max then whispered in Liz's ear.
" Exactly." Liz smiled and then turned to meet Max's lips. Max laid Liz down on the bed, hovering over her, as they kissed. They were both startled by the knocking on Liz's door. " Elizabeth. Are you up? You're shift starts soon."
Max quickly jumped out of Liz's bed, and towards the bathroom. Liz laughed at the sight of Max's boxers. They were white with green alien heads. She whispered, " Nice boxers." Max turned and smiled, as he stood in the doorway,
" I'd like to think of them as being " Out of this world ". Max then winked at her and then shut the bathroom door. Liz couldn't help, but laugh.
" Elizabeth! What's so funny?" Liz's mom, Nancy, questioned as she opened the door.
" Oh nothing. I was just thinking about prom night."
" Oh I see. Well you'd better get ready for work." Liz nodded.
" Okay mom." Liz's mom was barely out the door when she saw a backpack, lying next to Liz's bed.
" Liz, who's backpack is that?" Liz smiled as she looked down the side of her bed.
" Oh, um that's Maria's."
" I thought Maria's backpack was red." Liz sighed in disbelief.
" Mom, do you have to analyze everything? We're not on the set of Dawson's Creek."
" Okay, okay, Iam sorry." Liz's mom then shut the door.
Liz sighed and then grabbed Max's backpack and then opened the bathroom door. " Hey Maria, here's your backpack." Max had a seductive smile on his face,as he grabbed the backpack from Liz's hands and threw it to the ground. He then lifted Liz onto the bathroom counter as he seductively whispered,
" Liz, I don't think it's physically possible for me to not touch you." Liz pouted her lips, which drove Max crazy.
" I know what you mean." Liz wrapped her arms around Max's neck, as their lips slowly touched. Liz moaned which only made Max more determined to touch her, as he deepened their kiss.
Liz reluctantly pulled back from him. " Max we have to stop. My shift starts in eight minutes." Max gave a Liz a pouty, pleading look, as he released Liz from his hold. She then smiled and began getting ready for work.
Liz was now in her full work uniform as she put her hair up in a pony tail. Max was glancing through her cds, when Liz turned to him. " Well it's off to another day of serving." Max laughed and then moved closer to her.
" Lucky for the served." Liz smiled and gave Max one more kiss before heading downstairs. Max then climbed through Liz's bedroom window and down the ladder. He had to come through the Crashdown entrance, so that Liz's parents didn't suspect anything.
Max nonchalantly walked into the Crashdown, with his eyes on one person in particular. His soulmate Liz Parker. Max then noticed that Isabel, Michael, and Tess were sitting in their usual booth. He strolled over, and then took a seat next to Michael. " Hey guys." Isabel eyed Max in suspicion.
" So Max. How did you get here so fast?"
" Um, I ran." Michael laughed and then threw a fry at Max.
" You dog! Ran my ass. You probably came down from Liz's room."
Max rolled his eyes. " Michael that's absurd."
" Absurd, but true." Max kept a serious face, but then slowly a guilty smile formed on his face. " Shut up Michael." Isabel and Tess couldn't help, but laugh.
The alien four were startled by the ringing of the Crashdown door. Max, Isabel, Michael, and Tess looked up to see an over excited Kyle and Alex. Tess raised an eyebrow, and then waved Alex and Kyle to come over. As the guys approached them, Tess lauged and then asked, " What are guys so excited about?"
Alex cleared his throat. " Kyle and I were accepted to the same college as Liz and Maria! " Isabel nodded. " Wow, thats great." Alex smiled and then spoke, " So what about you guys?" Michael, Tess, and Isabel stiffened. Michael then answered for all of them, " Um..actually we aren't sure if we are even going." Alex and Kyle's eyes widened in shock. Kyle shifted weight from foot to foot. He then turned to Max.
" Hey Max. What about you?" Kyle sighed, when Max didn't answer. They all noticed that Max was deeply staring at something. Alex and the others followed his gaze, it pointing to no other than Liz. Kyle stomped his foot, and then hit Max. " Hey horndog!" Max shook his head.
" Iam sorry. Were you saying something?"
" Uh, yeah. Where are you going to for college?" Max sat back in the booth. " I don't know if I am going."
" What? Okay listen. I know that you guys all applied to the same colleges that myself, Alex, Maria, and Liz did. Seeings how I made it in, Iam sure that you guys didn't have much trouble getting in. So what's really going on? Is there some Czechosvlakian reason on why you're not going to college. On why you're staying here in Roswell?"
Liz immediatley turned to Max and the others, when she heard Kyle's last comment. She worriedly walked over to their booth and blurted out, " You guys aren't going to college?"
Max whipped around at the sound of Liz's voice. He could easily see that she was worried and hurt. " I don't..I mean we don't know..." Before Max could finish Liz spoke up.
" I mean. I wouldn't see you. For at least four years." Liz tried to keep her composure, but the single thought of never seeing Max, killed her. Max took a deep breath, and then stood up, so that he was eye to eye with Liz.
" No, Liz. Nothing could ever keep us apart. Trust me." Max knew that Liz was quite convinced, so he reached his hands out, bringing her to him in a tight hug.
" Liz when is your break?"
" Um..actually I get off in about ten min." Max stepped back, and began touching her hair. " Okay, listen. I'm going to finish up here, and I will meet you in the back."
" Okay." Max cupped Liz's face in his hands and kissed her gently. Liz began walking away, but Max grabbed her hand. " Liz, I love you." Liz softly smiled.
" I love you too."
Once Liz was out of hearing range, Max sat down back in the booth. He then eyed Isabel, Michael, and Tess. " Now what are we going to do about this college thing?" Michael narrowed in.
" Listen Maxwell. We took a huge step, by getting involved with humans." Kyle and Alex cleared their throat after Michael said that. Michael turned to them. " Oh, no offense." , and then continued. " Anyway, we would be taking a huge risk by going off to college. I mean think about it. We would be in a foreign city with more strangers. Here in Roswell, we know about almost everyone, and we have connections with the Sheriff. We can get away with a lot. I am not willing to take the chance. The chance of being discovered."
Isabel and Tess began nodding. Isabel then grabbed Max' s hand. " Max, no matter how hard it hurtsl, you and I both know that Michael is right." Max sighed.
" I know he is." Max turned and glanced over to the Crashdown counter, to see Liz signing out and then walking into the back room. " How am I going to tell Liz?" Max then stood up and headed to the backroom.
Liz threw her apron and antennas on the couch. She was exhausted. The cafe was packed today, and it didn't help that today was Maria's day off. Liz was going to call her,but she knew that Maria was out shopping, and Liz didn't want to disturb her. Liz turned when she heard the door creak. She could tell by the look on Max' s face that he was bothered by something. " Max, is everything okay?" Max walked closer to Liz, but didn't touch her.
" No Liz its not." Liz felt her entire body go into shutdown mode. She was scared, not knowing what Max was about to tell her. " Liz, can we go up in your room? We need to talk."
" Um.yeah sure." Liz walked up the stairs, with Max following. After they reached her room, Liz shut the door, took a deep breath and then faced Max. " Okay Max. What's going on?" Max began pacing back in forth, wiping the sweat from his hands, onto his jeans.
" Liz. It's about me going to college." Liz felt her breath shortening as she took a deep breath.
" What about it Max?" Max looked up so that his eyes were staring directly into Liz's.
" I can't go. The others and I have to stay in Roswell." Liz squinted her eyes, attempting to stop the tears from forming. Liz spoke as she sat down on her bed,
" Okay, um Max where does that leave us? I mean, I have a full scholarship to Minnesota University. That's halfway across the state. Max I would never see you." Max was so frustrated. He didn't want to be away from Liz. Max groaned and then sat down next to Liz, grabbing her hand.
" Liz. I...no matter where you go. I will be here waiting for you Liz Parker." Liz broke away from his grasp and stood up.
" No Max. I can't lose you. I won't go." Max's eyes widened as he stood up in pure shock.
" What?!" Liz sighed and then spoke.
" I won't go. I can stay here in Roswell with you." Max put his hands on Liz's shoulders.
" No Liz. This is your dream. To go to college and study to become a molecular biologist."
" No Max. Being with you is my dream."
" Liz, I want you to stay, but that's me being selfish. Liz, I know that for you go to to Minnesota University is whats best for you."
" Max, no thats not true."
" Liz, I hold you back."
" Max stop it! I am sick of everyone telling me whats best for me. I am a big girl and I can make my own decisions." Max sighed and then brought Liz closer to him.
" I know, but Liz you aren't looking at the whole picture. Minnesota University..."
Liz pulled away from Max. " Why do you keep pushing me to go? Don't you want me to be here with you?" Liz couldn't hold the tears back anymore. They slowly began falling down her cheeks.
" No! I live every waking moment to be with you. Don't ever doubt my love for you. It's because I love you that I want you to go." Max cupped Liz's face in his hands. " Liz I will never leave you. You are my destiny. You are my love. No college can keep us apart." Max engulfed Liz in his arms. Both of them knowing that Liz would go off to Minnesota University, but no matter what. One day they would be together again.
