Loaded's artical on Eliza Dushku(feb 2001)

Buffys evil opposite number, Faith What with all the undead stomping about causeihg all manner
of hullabaloo, life for Buffy the Vampire Slayer is hard enough. The last thing she needs is to
worry about ia an evil slayer putting bad eggs in her alredy nasty pudding. But that’s just what
Faith, played by 20 year old Eliza Dushku dose in the show. Loaded took the little minx to task.

Is faith more than just a black-hearted queen of the night?
Well, I think I have a connection to the bad girl character that makes it more than just black and
white, and more then just evil. I think people watching Faith have been really surprised when, at
times, they felt sympathy for her, or they felt compassion. It wasn’t just, “Oh, here is this black
and white monster bad girl.”

But I bet your fans are
all so generous about your character...
Yeah, there is this reverse side where people come up going “who do you think you are?” and
“Do you think your tough?” And I’m like, “no, I really don’t I swear! I know I’m not tough,
please...” But they get really excited.

And areuI some of your biggest admirers actually killers themselves?
Ah, yeah, the letters from prison thing hasn’t gone over with me well. I don’t understand why
they screen a TV show about high school girls in a maximum- security prison penitentiaries for
men on death row. I just don’t get it.

She’s lucky they’re all destined to be offed by the hands of the cruel and unforgiving US legal
system. Unless, of course, the deep-fried corpses of those killers decide to rise up and spook the
quaint little town of Sunnydale...
