Buffy Summers was still dealing with the being brought back from the dead when she received a disturbing phone call. The call was from Angel, the love that fate forced Buffy to let go. It was the first time that Buffy heard the sorrowful story of how Angel was blessed with a son, and then had him taken away by someone he trusted. Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, Buffy’s former watcher, stole Conner and he was lost in an act of revenge. Now, Angel is pleading to Buffy for her help in finding his son.
When Buffy goes to LA, old feelings arise along with the guilt that Angel feels because they can never be together, because he never give her the life that she deserves. While dealing with their old feelings, they encounter a strong fighter who calls herself Celina, and claims to know where Connor is. But when they stop to get the information she claims to have, a fight breaks out. In a fight that nearly results in Angel becoming a pile of dust and Buffy dead, Angel realizes that Celina is someone that he used to know centuries ago. Celina seems to be out to destroy Buffy, and there’s more than meets the eye.
Upon closer investigation, Buffy and Angel find that Celina is a slayer, turned vamp. Buffy is terrified, having met someone who could easily kill her, someone who terribly wants to. Then, just when they think they have a good lead to where Connor is, it turns out to be a trap set by Celina. Another fight breaks out, and this time, it is to the death. While Angel does his best to protect Buffy, the unthinkable happens. Celina turns Buffy. Suddenly, Angel has two slayers that have been turned into vampires, both who are just as strong as he is, if not more. After another brush with death, Angel realizes that he must get back to Sunnydale, and fast. Willow and Xander realize that they must find the Orb of Thesulus and the Spell of Restoration to restore Buffy’s soul. While they’re working on restoring her soul, Angel must head back to LA and hold Buffy and Celina back, to keep them from going on a rampage. Will Willow be able to restore Buffy’s soul? Or will the two vampires be allowed to run rampant and lure the world into darkness?
