Episode 1:
"Freshmen"
Buffy Willow and Oz start college life at UC Sunnydale. Buffy meets her new roommate Kathy, who instantly proves to be an annoyance (she does this disgusting thing where she smacks her lips together in her sleep). Buffy immediately struggles with tough classes and fading friendships as she battles a new group of college-aged vamps. After losing in a fight against Sunday, the packs head vampire, Buffy runs to Giles, who is now an unemployed "man of leisure", for help. He tells her that she needs to learn how to do things on her own, and that he can't help her. Later she returns to her dorm to find all her stuff missing. She then goes to the bronze, and runs into Xander, who explains how his cross country trip went to hell when his car broke down and he had to wash dishes at a strip club for two months to pay it off (He also mentions how he had to fill in for one of the strippers when they called in sick). He sees that she's feeling alone so he tells her that she is his hero, which puts her in the mood to do some slaying. They head back to the campus, where they learn the hide out of the vampires. Buffy watches them go through all her stuff while Xander goes to get the rest of the gang. By the time they get back, Buffy had already taken care of all the vampires, except for 2 that ran away. When they leave, Giles runs up, eager to help, saying that he'll be there for her no matter what. At the very end, one of the vampires that got away suddenly gets hit with a tazer, and watches as three US military guards come out of the bushes, high powered guns in hand.
Episode 2:
"Living Conditions"
Buffy
tries to adjust to her roommate Kathy, but it is proving to be a lot harder
then she intended. Then, she and Kathy are attacked by a "demon of non-specific
origin", who later informs another demon that "she may be the one" Then
Buffy begins to have a dream where she is pinned down by the demon who
attacked her, being fed blood, then having her soul sucked out. The next
day, Buffy meets an older guy named Parker, who she seems to take a liking
to. Meanwhile, she is growing more and more irritated by Kathy's idiosyncrasies,
and is almost obsessing. The gang begins to worry but figure that it's
nothing. Later, Oz goes in Willow's place to meet up with Buffy, and on
the way there, he passes by a group of students, one of which turns back
to look at him. He looks back and then continues about his business. Then
in the bushes behind him, we see the three soldiers lurking, probably headed
towards those "students". Else where, those two demons are standing over
a fire, cast a spell to raise the demon Taronnich. That night, Buffy has
the dream again, and the next day she's even more crazy. She tells Willow
that Kathy is evil (she has toe nail clippings to prove it) and that Kathy
has to die. Willow sends her to Giles. When she gets there, Giles, Xander
and Oz jump her and tie her up, for her own good. She gets loose, knocks
them unconscious, and heads for Kathy. She gets there and her and Kathy
immediately get into it. Meanwhile, Giles and Willow have begun the spell
to make the demon show it self. Buffy pulls off Kathy's face, revealing
that she is in fact a demon, and she looks like the ones that attacked them.
After they fight a while, Kathy reveals that Buffy's dreams were real,
and that when the demons who are after her find her, they'll take the one
without the soul, which, if she succeeds in her ritual, will be Buffy.
Just before the ritual is completed, Giles and Willow complete the spell,
and Kathy is unable to take Buffy's soul. Then the demon Taronnich comes
through a portal, and it's revealed to Be Kathy's father. He takes her
back and all is calm again.
Then Willow and Buffy become roommates.
Episode 3:
"The Harsh Light of Day"
Episode 4
"Fear, Itself"
As Halloween approaches, Buffy is still upset about the whole Parker issue, despite everyone's efforts to cheer her up. The gang plans to go to a "Scary House" frat party, where the purpose is to go through the haunted house in order to get to the party. Anya comes to Xander and he gets very defensive when Anya brings up the fact of how different he is from the rest of the group. Meanwhile, Willow is considering becoming more involved in witchcraft, despite her hidden fears of not being able to control what she does. In an effort to convince her to take it slow, concerned-boyfriend-guy Oz confesses his fear of not being able to control his wolfism. Later, Oz and Xander are at the fart house setting up for the party when Xander notices one of the pledges drawing a symbol on the floor. he was copying the icon out of a book, even though he had no idea what it meant. Then Oz cuts his finger, and unknowingly sends blood right onto the mark, causing an unnoticed ripple effect within the drawing, which instantly turned a plastic spider into a real live tarantula. Things at the party instantly go haywire when the house itself seems to be alive. Once everyone splits up, they are each forced to face their fears (Xander becomes invisible, Willow casts a spell that she can't control, Oz starts to wolf-out uncontrollably and Buffy is attacked by people she couldn't save). Meanwhile, Anya and Giles are trying to find a way in to the frat house (all the doors and windows are gone, so Giles gets handy with a chainsaw). Buffy Willow Xander and Oz end up the attic, where the mark remained. Each of their living fears seemed to have dissipated. They find the book that the mark was copied from and Willow translates some of the gaylick text, just before Giles and Anya burst in. The demons name is Gaknar, and it needs their fear so that it can come into being. Giles translates some more of the text, and he says how "there's two ways to kill it: destroying the icon--" to which Buffy proceeds to do, and then Giles continues, "...is not one of them but will in fact bring forth the fear demon itself." The fear demon raises from the whole in the ground and is revealed to be about 4 inches tall. After the gang takes turns making fun of it, Buffy stomps on it.

She wakes up and leaves class with Riley before they part their ways. Meanwhile, Anya and Xander argue because Anya doesn't feel that their relationship is real. They enter Giles' house, and Giles tell Xander that he has to take Spike because he had a lady friend coming to town. Of course, Xander is reluctant. Later, Willow learns that a new Wicca group is nothing but a bunch of Gya-loving moon children, and she's understandably upset. A shy girl names Tara seems to share Willow's desire for a witch group that actually does spells. Later, Buffy tells Willow how she'd like to just come clean about the whole Slayer thing, while Riley wishes he could come clean as well. Later, as Giles struggles to make sense of the nursery Buffy heard in her dream, his lady friend Olivia shows up and they immediately start with the kissing. Meanwhile the green guy Buffy saw in her dream opens a box in the clock tower that sucks the voices from every person in Sunnydale. The next morning, the sleepy town wakes up, and everyone realizes that they can't speak, and panic instantly ensues. When Buffy and Willow gets to Giles', they see a newscast which states that the town is under quarantine due to a "Laryngitis Outbreak". Meanwhile, Riley is ordered to help maintain order. While he's out doing so, he runs into Buffy, and, with out being able to babble, the two of them finally kiss. Later that night, as the town sleeps, The Gentlemen begin their search for the 7 hearts that they need. Meanwhile, Olivia draws a picture of one of the gentlemen that she saw, and Giles immediately recognizes it, from a fairy tale. He gets the gang together, and, using a classroom, an overhead, and some poorly drawn transparencies, he tells the story of the Gentlemen, who come to a town, steal the voices of the citizens, so they can't scream, then remove 7 hearts so they can continue living. The only way to kill them is by a real human voice. Riley suits up and heads out on patrol, unmasked, then witnesses some activity up in the clock tower, so he heads over to check it out. Meanwhile, Tara finds a spell to maybe reverse what was happening, so she headed to willow's. While on her way, she comes face to face with two of the Gentlemen, and two of their slaves. She makes a run for it. While Buffy is patrolling, she gets ambushed by two of the Igor like slaves, who she takes out. When Willow hears a struggle, she opens her door and Tara instantly collides with her. They waste no time, and run like hell. Riley is getting attacked in the clock tower when Buffy busts in and the two of them, while very surprised, begin to fight side by side. Meanwhile, Willow, whose suffering from a sprained ankle, and Tara make it to a laundry room, where the channel their energy together to move a huge vending machine in front of the door to block the Gentlemen out. Back in the clock, Buffy and Riley are continuing to fight. One of the Gentlemen manages to stab Buffy before she sees the box, which she recognized from her dream. She signals to Riley, who, after one failed attempt, smashes the box, returning everyone's voice. Buffy immediately lets out a loud scream, which causes the Gentlemen and they're slave things to blow up. After that, Buffy and Riley decide that they need to talk.
Episode 11
"DOOMED"
This one starts where HUSH left off, just as Buffy and Riley come to terms with what they saw. There is an uncomfortable silence between them, before Buffy tells him what she knows about him, mostly what Spike has told her. The two decide that they need time to think about it, then an earthquake hits. After it passes, Riley is overly excited, and Buffy is worried. Meanwhile, Xander tries to get Spike to earn his keep in the basement. Spike makes an unknown attempt to knock Xander out, but his headache kicks in. Meanwhile, Riley is asking Forrest about “The Slayer” when they get attacked by a captured demon. Then they notice that all the captured demons are going nuts. Later, at a campus “Aftershock Party,” Willow runs into Percy and his good looking girlfriend. At the same time, A guy in a room nearby gets slashed by a demon that looks like the one that attacked Riley. Then Willow overhears Percy and his girl calling her names, and all the terrible memories from high school came back. She seeks solitude and ends up discovering the dead guys body. which is branded with symbols made with his own blood. Meanwhile, Xander is getting fed up with Spike’s crap and he tells him that he isn’t what he used to be, and that he isn’t even worth killing. Buffy shows up at the party as the body is being dragged off by ambulance. Willow explains what happened and they meet Xander at Giles. After Willow describes what she saw, and that the guy was propped up, as if his blood were being drained, Giles determines that it’s the end of the world, AGAIN. After she finishes gloating, Buffy heads out on patrol. She makes her way to a mausoleum bearing the same creepy eye thing. She enters it to find yet another demon, this one is filling a bag with bones from the coffin. She fights the demon and after it runs off, Riley walks up. He still wants to know more about her, but she’s not ready. She meets back with everyone at Giles and while they discover things about the demon, Riley and his team are running clueless. Willow remembers The Sacrifice of Three that requires the blood of a man, the bones of a child, and the Word of Vallios. It’s supposed to end the world. Buffy has a plan to get the Word of Vallios before the demon can. She has Willow and Xander go to the museum to find out what it is, as she heads to the magic shop. Riley instructs his team to find and kill this thing, which they are tracking through it’s own residue traces. Meanwhile, back at Xander’s, a pathetic Spike is attempting suicide when Xander and Willow walk in and, for some reason, stop him, and then decide to take him with them When they explain about the impending apocalypse, Spike is happy and later he informs the two of them that they’re Buffy’s Groupies, and that they’re the same pathetic people they've been. At the same time, Giles sees the word of Vallios in a book, and realizes that he has it, but just a second too late. He’s ambushed by the three demons, and they manage to get the Word. He learned that they plan to open the hellmouth, so they gear up and head to the high school. They get there in time to see the three demons standing over the crack that leads to the hellmouth. They look for sacrifices, but soon learn that the demons themselves are the sacrifices. One jumps in the whole. As they fight, Spike discovers that he can in fact hit demons, and he goes nuts, then tosses another one into the whole, thinking he was helping. This time the ground shook harshly, and everyone but Buffy and the last demon cleared out. As she fights him, Riley shows up and they team up, but he gets away and jumps in. Riley hooks a line onto Buffy’s belt and she jumps into the hellmouth. She grabs the thing in mid air, and Riley pulls them both out. As they leave the school, they run into the rest of the gang, and Riley fails at making up excuses for his being there...in cammo's. Later, he tells Buffy that what happened was a disaster, but she convinces him otherwise. Meanwhile, Spike lets on about his new found pleasure in kicking evils ass.
Episode 12
"A New Man"
Ethan Rayne returns to Sunnydale and turns Giles into a demon. With the help of Riley and the Initiative, Buffy finds him and is able to change him back before it's too late.
Episode 13
"The 'I' in Team"
While Xander, Willow, and Anya sit around playing cards, Buffy's off impressing the Initiative by kicking their ass...in a training session to assess her skills, which the army boys find quite impressive. The next day, Giles goes to visit Spike in his new crypt to thank him and to pay him. Spike makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with any of the slayerettes. Meanwhile, with Riley by her side, Buffy enters the Initiative. She is very surprised by everything there. Prof. Walsh points out a pair of demons who she says "will be under their control". Also she introduces Dr. Engleman, head of The Initiative's research department. He's an expert on Xenomorphic behavior modification, meaning, their reconditioning the minds of the demons the capture (i.e. Spike). Then she shows Buffy the COM Cam, which is a prototype camera that can monitor the heartbeat of whoever's wearing it, and finally, she welcomes Buffy to the team. Then she heads to the highly classified research lab, labeled 314, where Dr. Engleman informs her that "their baby" is doing good. "Adam" is some kind of demon the two of them are making. Meanwhile, Tara asks Willow to hang out, but Willow turns her down because she has plans with the gang at the Bronze. Later, everyone awaits Buffy, who shows up an hour late with Riley and 5 other guys. Willow gets upset, and as the two of them are in conversation, Buffy gets "paged" by The Initiative. Willow is instantly feeling replaced, so she heads to Tara's. Buffy, Riley, and the others meet at the Initiative, where Professor Walsh goes over their next hunt. Riley deploys, putting Buffy with him, and Forrest with his own team, causing some jealousy. However, Forrest forgets everything else when he spots Hostile 17 (Spike) and nails him with a tracker. Alpha team gets a visit from the demon, and after Buffy and Riley capture it, they make mad passionate love, oblivious to the fact that Prof. Walsh is watching them via hidden camera. The next day, Spike shows up at Giles, begging for help. Giles, Xander and Anya try to help get the tracer out of his back, but it's in deep, so they need time. Buffy wakes up next to Riley, but he's called into action just as fast. Walsh instructs Riley to capture Hostile 17, then she enters 314 where Dr. Engleman is performing surgery on those two demons. He and Walsh decide that Buffy's a liability, and that they need to move to the "contingency scenario". Buffy heads home, where she runs in to Willow, who also spent the night out, at Tara's? They have a 2 second conversation before Buffy gets beeped away, much to Willow's annoyance. Then the phone rings, it's Giles...he needs her help. When Buffy gets to the Initiative, Walsh fills her in on a Class 3 (low-level threat) sub-t in the sewers, and she wants Buffy to nail it. She gives Buffy the COM Cam and a laser gun thingy, and Buffy's off. Willow gets to Giles and starts working on an Ionizing spell, which is supposed to neutralize the air to throw off the tracer and buy some time. She succeeds, but it wears off, and just as Riley and Forrest trace it, Giles gets it out of Spike and Xander flushes it, throwing the soldier boys off. Buffy hits the sewers and comes across not only one, but two demons, both heavily armed. She instantly recognizes them as the two she saw Dr. Engleman working on during her tour, and she knows something's wrong with this picture. She tries to shoot, but the gun jams, then she tries to run, but a steel gate comes down, locking her in with two predators. It's clear to her now. From the Initiative, Walsh monitors Buffy's heart rate until it goes blank, flatling. She thinks she's successful in her plan. She's wrong. The frightened Buffy took the camera off to trick Walsh. Later, Riley gets back to the Initiative, and the Professor wastes no time telling him of Buffy's death. However, before he could become devastated, Buffy pops up on the monitor, and makes it clear to the Professor that she doesn't know what a Slayer is, but she will find out. An enraged Riley storms out, upsetting Prof. Walsh. Just as Giles is trying to tell Spike to get out of Sunnydale because it isn't safe for him, Buffy walks in and confirms, adding that it isn't safe for any of them. At the same time, Professor Walsh is talking to Adam, swearing the Buffy will pay for messing with her, just before Adam stabs her through the chest, uttering the word “Mommy.”
Episode 14
"Good-Bye Iowa"
Buffy fills everyone in on what happened with the Professor, and everyone wonders if Riley had something to do with it. Buffy decides that they need to hide, somewhere where the Initiative wouldn't think to look. They agree on Xander's. Riley walks in and Buffy explains what happened, then he sees Hostile 17 (Spike) and gets curious. Then he leaves. He needs answers. Meanwhile, Adam escapes the Initiative, and heads out. He runs into an inquisitive little boy. Later that night, Dr. Engleman discovers Professor Walsh's body, and learns that Adam has escaped. The next morning, Giles wakes up not so refreshed with the rest of the gang in Xander's basement. After some arguing, they turn on the TV and learn of the death of the little boy, and Buffy instantly thinks of the Polgara demon. She vows to kill him in ways he can't imagine (which would have sounded scarier if she wasn't in her "Yummy Sushi" Pajamas). Meanwhile, Riley heads back to his dorm where he tells Forest about what happened, but Forest believes that if Professor Walsh tried to kill Buffy, she must've had a reason. Then Graham walks in, filling them in on Maggie's death. Meanwhile, Buffy gets to the crime scene just as Riley does, and he informs her of Maggie's death, and asks her how happy she is. She gets offended and walks off. At the same time, Willow gets to Tara's, and she wants to summon the goddess Thesbia to locate demonic energy in the area. Tara is reluctant, but she agrees. Buffy goes to chat with our favorite snitch Willy, who claims he's running a "respectable" demon bar. A few minutes later, Riley walks in, questioning Buffy for hanging with the demons. He is unable to tell between good and evil, and he is suffering physically. Something is making him sick. Buffy wants to find out what, so she decides that she and Xander (who has the military know-how) are going to sneak into the Initiative, against Anya's objections. Meanwhile, Willow's tries the spell with Tara, but Tara, unbeknownst to Willow, doesn't do her part, leaving Willow curious. Riley wakes up and, after knocking Willow to the ground, he runs out. Meanwhile, Buffy and Xander have gotten into the Initiative, and they overhear Dr. Engleman telling another Doc that the men don't know they've been getting meds through their food, and that withdrawals are dangerous. He also mentions that Riley is "too important to the project to lose now". Meanwhile, a depressed Spike goes for a drink at Willy's, where he gets jumped by a demon who makes it clear that a vampire who wages war on demons isn't welcome there. At the same time, Buffy and Xander catch up with Dr. Engleman and just as she's about to get an answer, Riley shows up, more delusional then before. He claims that Buffy did everything, but she says that they just need to find out what was in room 314, to which Adam shows up, letting everyone know it was him. Then he informs them that he is made up of parts of demon, men, and machines. He also tells Riley that Maggie considered him a son to her, and that she created him too, in a different sense. Also that she had great plans for them both. After Adam stabs Dr. Engleman, he stabs Riley, just not as fatally, then runs off as Forest and his team rush in, throwing accusations at Buffy, then take Riley to a military hospital. The next day, Buffy tells Willow that she's worried because Riley's got nothing to believe in, while Riley lays in his hospital bed, clinging to the handkerchief that Buffy gave him.
Episode 15
"This Year's Girl"
After a few dreams involving Buffy killing her, Faith wakes up from her eight month coma. She gets out of bed, and learns from a woman that she's been out for eight months, and that the Mayor was dead. Faith attacks the woman, steals her clothes, and then leaves the hospital. Meanwhile, Buffy goes to find Adam when she spots a tore up demon, who she assumes that Adam took apart to study. Then she comes up with a risky plan to get Riley out of the Initiative, but he shows up, and she's happy to see him. Meanwhile, back at the hospital, the staff learns that Faith is gone, and a nurse makes a phone call stating that it happened, and telling whoever's on the other end to send a team. A little later, A helicopter lands outside the hospital and a team of men jump out as the chopper fly's away. Meanwhile, the gang is at Giles, trying to figure out how to bring down Adam, and Riley suggests that he'll share info between Buffy and The Initiative. Unbeknownst to them, the groggy Faith watches from a window. The phone rings and Buffy picks up. Then she lets everyone know that Faith is awake. They plan to find her, but they don't know what to do with her. Buffy fills Riley in on the Faith scene, leaving out some Angel parts. The next day, Buffy and Willow run into Faith on campus, and Faith makes it clear that she blames Buffy for what happened, and the two immediately make with the fighting. When the cops show up, Faith lets Buffy know that payback's a bitch, then she runs off. Later, Willow asks Tara to help her look for Faith. That night, Giles and Xander, who's worried that he might be Faith's target, patrol looking for Adam. Instead they run into Spike, and ask if he knows anything. He reminds them that he hates them, then informs them that if he gets to Faith, he'll tell her everything he knows about them, then watch as she kills them all. Meanwhile, Faith continues to elude police, then she runs into a demon, who has a package for her. Its a tape of Mayor Wilkins, who explains that she probably won't last to much longer, and that if she's gonna go out, she can go out with a bang. With tape is a package, in it is a small metal gizmo. At the same time, Buffy is trying to warn Riley of Faith. He insists there something she's not saying. Meanwhile, Faith pays a visit to a surprised Joyce Summers, and ties her up in the bedroom. At the same time, Giles gets an unexpected visit from the guys that got out of the chopper at the hospital. Back at Buffy's, Faith harasses Joyce about how Buffy forgot about her, then Buffy jumps through the window, and again, the fighting ensues. Joyce takes the opportunity to call the police. The slayers fight there way to the living room, where Faith, realizing her time's running out, put that metal thing on her hand, then joins hands with Buffy, and some kind of energy emerges from the thing just before Buffy knocks Faith out. As the cops get to the door, Joyce asks Buffy if she's ok, and Buffy answers, quite eerily, that she's "Five by Five".
Episode 16
"Who Are You?"
After the cops wheel off Buffy, in Faith's body, Faith, in Buffy's body, begins to plan her revenge. After a bath, she finds Joyce's credit card then books a flight, just before Joyce comes in and sends her to Giles'. Meanwhile, Willow tells Tara that the reason she hasn't told everyone else about her is because she wants something that's just hers. And Tara confirms that she is just hers. At the same time, the heavily sedated Buffy is being transported when the guys from the Counsel kidnap her. Faith gets to Giles' and is happy to learn that "Faith" is being shipped off to England. Then they bring up Adam, and of course she has no idea what they're talking about. Regardless, she vows to patrol until she finds him, but she goes straight to a sleazy club. Meanwhile, Buffy wakes up in the back of the truck, which is parked in some warehouse. She tries to convince the council guys that she's Buffy but they don't by it. The council guys discuss how getting her across the border is going to be hard, and they decide to move to the contingency plan. Later, Willow runs into "Buffy" at the Bronze so she introduces the two, then goes to get drinks. Faith notices that they're more then friends, and makes Tara feel uncomfortable. When Willow gets back, she points out a vamp leaving with a girl. Faith goes out back, slays the vamp, then the girl thanks her sincerely, and it gets to her. She's remembering how good it feels to save people, and she doesn't like it. After that, she heads to Riley's, and they wind up sleeping together. Afterwards, Riley says he loves her, and Faith jumps up freaking out, asking Riley what he wants from "her". Then he manages to calm her down. Willow and Tara get back to Tara's place and Tara tells Willow that she thinks Buffy's been possessed, and they find a ritual that can send Willow to the Nether realm to find Buffy there to see what’s up. They complete the extremely intense ritual and Willow is out. Meanwhile, Adam pledges his responsibility to kill EVERYTHING, and he enlists the pack of vamps to go out and tell the world that he's coming. The next morning, Faith leaves sleeping Riley the runs into Forest in the hall. He says how she's a killer, sarcastically, and she gets defensive, saying that she's NOT a killer...she's the Slayer. Meanwhile, The Council is unable to get Buffy past the border, so they try to kill her. She gets the gun, shoots off the cuffs, then gets away. She ends up at Giles, and it takes her a minute to convince him who she is. After a few minutes, Willow and Tara burst in. They know what happened, and they conjured their own Katra to switch Faith and Buffy back. Giles gets a call from Xander telling him to turn on the TV. He does and there's a news report about a hostage situation in a Sunnydale church. Vampires. Just after buying a plane ticket to Mexico (or wherever) Faith catches the news cast. The vampires working with Adam are holding the parishioners hostage. Riley shows up where he runs into Faith, who says she HAS TO DO THIS. She goes in and starts brawling. Giles and the others show up and distract the police while Buffy gets inside, just in time to save Faith. Faith goes nuts and starts attacking Buffy, calling her a murderous bitch (it was obvious that she hated the way she was, and she was dealing with it). Buffy managed to catch her hands and thanks to Will's homemade Katra, they switch back. Faith gets up and runs out instantly. Later, Buffy finds out the Riley slept with Faith, but of course he didn't know that. Faith ends up on the back of some truck, even more alone then she was before.
Episode 17
"Superstar"
Jonathan helps Buffy nail a nest of vamps, then, after a quick photo shoot, he heads home. Buffy meets up with Riley and still feels awkward, so she consults Jonathan for his advise and he tells her to forgive him and move on. Later, at the Initiative, Jonathan is called on as head technical consultant in the search for Adam. Jonathan reveals that Adam is powered by a never ending reservoir of Uranium 235, and that he has to be totally annihilated. Meanwhile, a fan of Jonathan's named Karen is watching his house when she’s attacked by a demon with a triangular symbol carved into it's head. At the Bronze, Jonathan and the gang relax as Buffy and Riley share a dance and make up. Karen gets away from the demon and makes it to the Bronze, and they take her back to Jonathan's where she describes the mark she saw on the demon. Jonathan dismisses the demon as a mere monster and insists that he can take care of it, but Buffy is suspicious. Meanwhile, Adam sits in a now deserted-since-he-killed-everyone video room where a vamp fills him in on the Jonathan thing, but Adam insist that its a lie, that Jonathan put a spell over everyone and Adam seems to be the only one unaffected. Later, Jonathan removes his robe to unveil a symbol carved into his back, the same symbol from the demon. Later, Tara is walking back to her dorm when she gets brutally attacked by the demon that Jonathan dismissed as unimportant. She ends up at Willow's the next morning and Buffy draws the symbol and Tara recognizes it. Buffy is starting to have doubts about the great Jonathan. She heads to Xander's to check out some of his avid Jonathan collection but winds up getting some info on alternate realities from Anya. She explains her theory then proves it with a picture of Jonathan showing the mark on his back. Jonathan walks in and explains how the monster is like his kryptonite and how he had its symbol tattooed so he wouldn't under estimate it again. Accepting his word, Buffy and Jonathan head out to search for the monster. Meanwhile, everyone else learns that Jonathan did in fact change himself and the universe to think he was a god, but the spell had to balance everything so it created the nightmare monster. They find the monster and kill it, thus reversing the spell and turning everything back. The next day everyone discusses the after math when Jonathan comes up and talks to Buffy. Later, Buffy and Riley are kissing and Buffy makes one little mistake...she utters the name "Jonathan".

Then Giles figures out that it's Buffy and Riley's sex that has unleashed the sexual energy through out the house, and now that energy is feeding off them, and manifesting into ghost form. Giles also states that if they stop making love, the die. Willow Tara and Giles get back to the house and do a spell to bring the spirits to them to give Xander and Anya enough time to get Buffy and Riley out of the house. They do the spell and the ghosts come but then leave just as quick. Everyone else is dealing with the fall out from the night before. Willow and Tara go to Giles' and he tries to conceal his feelings towards what he now knows of their relationship. Xander worries that the others were right about him but Anya tells him that he has a good heart and that she loves him. Meanwhile, Adam leads Riley to the Initiative's secret lab where he plans to engineer a mass race of demon-human hybrids. Riley spots the zombie versions of what used to be Professor Walsh and Dr. Engleman working on something that turns out to be Forest, only now he's more Adam-like. Buffy does a little reminiscing before she heads back to the cave and spots Adam's now vacant lair, but then finds Spike lurking around, and she realizes that something is up. Willow is working on decrypting the disks when they decrypt themselves. Buffy gets her, Xander and Giles to meet her and they figure out that it was Spike who invoked their fight. They agree to move on then figure out Adam's plan - he's gonna have the demons in the Initiative attack it from the inside which will provide him with all the body parts that he needs for his new race. They figure he wants Buffy there to even the kill ratio. While they try to figure out how kill Adam. Xander makes a comment about using all their abilities - Buffy's strength, Giles brains and Willow's witchcraft, and Giles comes up with the plan to do an adjoining spell. They head over to Lowell house where they break their way into the Initiative's elevator shaft. On the way down, Buffy and Willow have a heart to heart. Once they get into the Initiative, they're met by a group of taser wielding soldiers. Adam and Spike watch from a camera as the group is being detained and Adam decides that Spike failed and orders Forest to kill him, but he manages to escape. Buffy tries to tell Col. McNamara about Adam but he doesn't believe her. He and Buffy have a stand off just before Adam shuts the power down, locks all the exits, and unleashes the hostiles. The Col. places Buffy and CO. under arrest then leaves to check out the damage. Buffy fights off the two guards in charge and Willow jumps on the computer to find Adam. Meanwhile, Spike ends up in the middle of the chaos and finds himself fighting for his life- against demons. Willow figures out Adams lab is behind 314, which is on the other side of the Initiative. They make their way through the war zone, each one saving another’s life several times. They get to 314 and Xander, Giles, and Willow set up while Buffy gets to the secret lab and discovers Riley. She wonders why he wont talk to her and Adam informs her that he's not programmed too. Then he AGAIN orders everyone to kill her. As she fights Forest, the others work on the spell. Each of them represents a different entity - Willow is spirit, Xander is heart, Giles is mind, and Buffy is strength. Riley manages to get the chip out then holds off Forest so Buffy can get to Adam. Once he gets the chance, he blows Forest to bits. Adam fights Buffy off like she' nothing until the adjoining spell is complete and, through Buffy's body, her and her three closest friends become the ultimate fighter. Adam instantly gets nervous as Buffy kicks his ass just before she slams he fist into him and rips his power source right out, then disintegrates it as the lifeless Adam falls to the ground. The spell ends and everyone snaps back to reality. A demon breaks in only to be killed - by Spike. Buffy and Riley make it back and they head back into the war zone to save some lives. Later, the council the headed The Initiative discuss that their experiment has failed, and that it will be terminated immediately.

Willow dreams that Tara warns her
that "they're gonna find out about the real her." Then Willow escapes an
animal force that’s stalking her long enough to realize that she's still
the 10th grade nerd she used to be. The thing catches up with her and proceeds
to suck her SPIRIT out. (((The spirit is Willow's strongest attribute)))
while Buffy, Oz, Tara, Xander, Anya, and Harmony watch, bored.
In reality, the sleeping Willow
is gasping for air as if her soul was being sucked out.
Xander dreams about him and Joyce
having an affair. He has to go to the bathroom first but when he opens
the door, he ends up back in his basement, into which something is desperately
trying to get in from the other door. He goes back out the door and ends
up on a playground where he tries to look out for Buffy, who warns him
that "it's not coming for her yet." Then she calls him her big brother.
He gets in his ice cream truck with Anya and drives off. She tells him
that she wants to get back into vengeance. He tries to dissuade her but
he's interrupted when Willow and Tara invite him to join them in the back.
He goes only he ends up back in his basement, where something is still
banging at the upstairs door. He runs away and ends up in this trippy green
room, where the same thing that was stalking Willow if stalking him. He
runs into Giles who explains that it's because of what they did. He says
doesn’t understand then gets captured by army guys who escort him to Principle
Snyder, who plays on his fears of being useless and directionless. He gets
up and ends up at Giles', where the animal stalking him has caught up.
He runs inside and passes Willow (((who's on the couch gasping for air,
like in reality))). He runs through and ends up back in his basement,
where the animal stalker takes the form of his father, then switches back
just after ripping Xander's HEART out. (((The heart is Xander's strongest
attribute)))
In reality, the sleeping Xander
is convulsing as if his heart is being ripped out.
Giles dreams that he is hypnotizing
Buffy with a pocket watch. Then he, Buffy, Olivia, and the baby are at
a carnival. He looks at Buffy, who has paint smeared on her face, and says
"I know you" just before a playful Spike leads them into the fun house.
Inside, Spike's posing for some photographers while Olivia sits, crying.
Giles tries to figure what he's supposed to do when he runs into 'Cheese
Man'. He leaves the fun house and ends up at The Bronze where he joins
Xander and Willow in trying to figure out the identity behind the animal
force that's after them. Giles gets up and sings a song stating that the
Adjoining spell must've released some kind of primal force, but he's not
sure what it wants, but he thinks Buffy's next. He comes to another realization
when the amps go, so he stops the song and follows the wires into the back
where he discovers the pocket watch just before the stalker animal surprises
him. He states that he knows who it is just before it cuts out his BRAIN

shaking fiercely, as if his brain is being cut out.
Buffy dreams that she and Anya are
talking in her dorm room, just before she see the same animal stalker from
the other dreams. Then she ends up in her house, staring at her bed, telling
Tara that Faith and her just made the bed. Tara informs Buffy that she's
lost the others, and that she has only begun to understand what she is.
Buffy sets out to find them. She ends up at UC Sunnydale and finds her
mom living in the walls (((I guess this plays on some issues she has with
not calling her mom enough?))) just before spotting Xander. She follows
him up the stairs and ends up in an office in the Initiative, where Riley
and Adam (in human form) sit. Riley tells her that he's been promoted to
Surgeon General and that he and Adam are planning world domination. When
the demons escape, Riley and Adam go build a fort while Buffy opens her
bag of weapons only to find paint, which she smears on her face, like in
Giles' dream. She walks off and ends up, face paint now gone, in A desert,
where she fears she won’t find her friends. Tara shows up as does the stalker,
and says how she has to speak for 'her' (meaning the stalker). Through
Tara, the stalker tells Buffy about how she feels inside, and since she
relates to all those feelings, Buffy figures out that she's the first Slayer,
who is trying to separate Buffy from her friends because she herself had
worked alone, had been alone, and she felt that Buffy should be. (((Buffy's
strongest attribute is her friends))) Buffy fights her then wakes
up only to get stabbed by her. Buffy ignores her and she goes away, the
Buffy REALLY wakes up. Giles figures out that when the four of then adjoined,
and called upon the powers of the Slayer, they accidentally INVOKED the
spirit of the first one. Feeling icky, Buffy heads for the shower and on
the way she passes her bedroom, where Tara's words echo through her mind-
"You think you know...what's to come...what you are...You haven't even
begun."
