Valentine's Day
As she walked in she saw Jerry fixing the Valentine's Day decorations. "Hey Jerry" Lucy said. "Hi" "Has anyone been Looking for me yet?"
Just then Carter came up behind her "I have" he stated.
"For?" she questioned. He stared at her for a moment "Carter!?" "Huh, yeah I have a paitent who wants a woman to do her pelvic." He said breaking his gaze. "so can you do it?"
"mmm.. yeah I'll be right there." She thought 'I wonder why he was staring.' " I just have to drop thins off" she lifted a bag off her shoulder to show him.
Carter: What is it?
Lucy: Why do you want to know? she teased
Carter: (trying to brush it off) I'm just curious
Lucy: well, if you must know it my dress for tonight.
Cater: Who's the lucky guy? he asked with a hint of jealous
Lucy: Dale she said shortly
Carter: Really? he questioned in shock
Lucy: Yeah
Carter was looking at her and he noticed how beautiful she really was. He also thought Dale doesn't deserve her.
Lucy: Well, I guess I better go see that to that woman now.
As she walked off he watched her. 'Why is Carter staring at me like that?' she thought
Exam 3
"Hello Miss Roberts. What seems to be the problem?" Lucy questioned
"I've been having some cramping and some break through spotting."
"When was your last period?"
"Last month"
"Well let's do a pelvic and we'll go from there ok?"
Turns oput that the woman suffered a miscarriage and she didn't even know she was pregnant.
Lucy just had a feeling this day would go from bad to worst before her shift was over.

It did! She ended up in truma for most of her shift. Finally it was over and she could get ready for her date with Dale and get the hell out of there. She loved the ER but today was just not a good day.

She was ready and she had to admit she looked good. She was in her Favorite dress, it was a black dress with thin straps and flowers on the side. The dress fit well and she wore her black stilettos. Which made her look and feel taller.
As she walked by the admit desk she got a whistle out of Jerry. "thanks" she laughed.
Just as she boarded the elevator she heard "Hold the doors!" she knew it was Carter.
'WOW' he mind scream as he got a look at her.
"Hi Carter" she said
"Hey Yourself" he said trying to act cool
They both went to press the 6 button and their hands brushed softly.
"Sorry" he said with a slight blush
"No prob" she stated
" So are you meeting Dale?"
Just then the elevator stopped abruptly.

"Oh NO NO NO!" she cried"Damnit, could this day get any worse!"
"Lucy it's ok we'll just use the phone to call for help" trying to soothe her. He opened the call box to find no phone.
"Shit!" he yelled
Lucy: What?
Carter: There's no phone!
Lucy: Shit!
Carter: We will just have to scream for help. Ok on three

After 10 tries Carter gave up."It's no use they'll never heard us!"
Lucy: Come on we got to try
Carter:Go ahead! You try but I'm telling you it's useless.
Lucy: Fine don't help me but you are going to have to gravel when I get us rescued!
Carter: HAHA!
Lucy: HELP! HELP! HELP! HELP! HELP! HELP!
After another 20 tries
Lucy: Ok, you win it's useless
Carter: I told ya so!!!
Lucy: HA HA Very funny! mocking him
Carter:You're just mad because I'm right!
Lucy: Yeah well Shut Up!
Lucy: Damnit Damnit Damnit!
Carter: Oh come on it's not that bad!
Lucy: Yes it is! I'm stuck here all dressed for nothing!
Carter: Hey at least you're not alone.
Lucy sighed and she sat across from a now seated Carter
Carter: So......
Lucy: So....What shall we do?
Carter: I don't know. Any suggestion?
Lucy: We could talk or play a game or something
"Game!" they said looking at each other
Lucy: Ok do you know of any we could play?
Carter: No
Lucy: Me neither! God this is useless! This is just the worst day!
Carter: Hey, come on it will be ok! (flashing her one of his knee weakning smiles.
Lucy smiled back, stareing into his eyes
'God he is handsome! Watch this is Carter your talking about here.'
She stood up "Well we're going to be here for a whileso I'm going to take off my shoes and panty hose off if you don't mind.
Carter: sure go ahead he said as he rubbed his face
Lucy took off her shoes and carefully trying not to expose her bottom half to Carter.
Carter looked up just as Lucy bent over to slip them off and he saw alll the way down her dress.
Lucy quickly looked down and noticed what carter was stareing at. Carter and Lucy both blushed furiously.
Lucy: Oh God (she stood up quickly)
Carter:I'm sorry
Lucy: It's my fault
Carter: No it's mine
Lucy: Ok it's fine we are both sorry so let's drop it.
Carter: Ok
A very long period of silents fell over them.
Carter: So....
Lucy: So.... Ok that's like the thrid "so"
Carter Laughs softly
Carter: So...
They both burst out laughing. After it settled down
Carter: Lucy, Can I ask you a question?
Lucy: Shoot
Carter: what are you doing with a weasle like Dale? He is just all wrong for you!
Lucy hadn't given Dale one thought since they were trapped.
Lucy: Oh really and whys that? (Moving closer to Carter)
Carter: He is just so arrogant, selfish,pig-headed and cocky and you're so...
Lucy: I'm so what? she asked shyly
Carter: Blushing "You're so fun and sweet and carring and beautiful"
Lucy: You think I'm beautiful? (blushing)
Carter: Yes he said sheepishly
Lucy: Well I think you're cute too
Carter: Is that all you think of me as? Some piece of Meat? (he said jokingly)
Lucy: giggling "No, you're compassionate, caring, and you have a great personalty."
Carter: I do?
Lucy: Well yes
Lucy kiss carter on the cheek softly
Lucy: thanks I needed this
Carter: my pleasure
Lucy: Hey, I have a question
Carter: ok
Lucy: Why do you keep looking at me like that?
Carter: Like what? ( trying to defer her question or better yet his answer)
Lucy: You just stare as if you are in awe of me or something
Carter: Well, this is why..
Carter leaned in and kissed her gently but still firm.
Lucy opened her mouth slightly to allow his tounge access inside her mouth. The kiss became more and more heated as each momented pasted. Finally, Lucy broke away breathless.
Lucy: maybe we should stop
Carter: maybe we should keep going ( he grined at her)
Lucy looked into his eyes that were full of desire and passion. She was just about to lean in for another kiss when the doors opened.
Lucy: We're Free!
Carter: Yeah he said with disappointment.
Lucy: Well thanks again
Carter: but what about what happend?
Lucy: What about it?
Carter: Nevermind he said quitely. Knowing she was doing what he did after the exam 6 fiasco.
Lucy: Good Night Carter!
Carter: Night

Lucy stepped off the elevator leaving Carter alone."It's for the best" she kept repeating to herself but she knew deep down that she liked Carteron a level more than friendship maybe even..."Stop It!" she told herself quitely. She approached the OR desk "hey Shirley is Dale here?"
"No, he left with one of the nurses about 15 minutes ago."
"Do you know which one?" her curiousty getting the best of her.
"I think Sherry"
"huh!?" Lucy sighed as she thought 'I know he was a jerk!'. "Oh well Thanks Bye"
"Bye"

Lucy took the stairs down to the ER she thought "better safe than sorry". As she past the admit desk Jerry questioned "I thought you left!?"
"I tried, Now I really am leaving! Good night!"
"night Lucy"
She stepped into the lounge to grab her stuff and there she found Carter. "Hello Again." She said quitely.
"Hey" he replied back.
"So are you off?"
"Yes" he replied shortly
"Do you have anything planned?" 'Why did I just say that' she thought.
"No, aren't you and Dale going out?"he questioned hoping that he was wrong.
"mmm... No actually he ditched me for some nurse" she said with a slight laugh.
"I told ya so!" he said with a laugh.
"So since we are boith alone you wanna do something together?"
"Yes, that would be great!" he replied eagerly.
"Ok, I'm just going to get my car and I'll meet you out front. While, I'm doing that you can decide where we go deal?" Lucy said with a smile.
"Ok, sounds good" Carter replied trying to be cool about it.

"So, where are we going?" Lucy asked once Carter got into her SUV. "To this Blues bar I know of"
"Ok, but I have to warn you I know nothing about Blues"
" So, you're not a fan. We can go somewhere else?" he said a little disappointed.
"No, I really want to go it's just I've never really listen to it before"
"Well let's see what you listen to!" he teased while grabbing her CD case.
"Let's not!" she said not wanting him to tease her.
"Too Late!" he smiled. Lucy shot him a look.
"Ok, let's see here, You've got Madonna, Laren Hill, Moby, Macy Gray, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, oh and what's this Metallica!?!" He laughed.
"Ok, give me that!" she said getting annoyed with his teasing. He continued though "Ozzy Osbourne? Why Luce I didn't know you were a Metal head!" he joked.
"Haha very funny!" she said not pleased. "So, are you going to give me directions or are we just going to drive around all night?"

As they enterd the club Carter was still harping on her about her musical taste. Of course he found it hilarious, Lucy on the other hand did not. " I would have never pictured you as a metal fan!" he said still finding it laughable. "Oh, and why's that?" she said.
"It's just you know you're so..." he said trying to think of something to say. "No, I don't know" she teased. Just then the waitress came by. "What are you going to have?"
Lucy spoke up " I am going to have a Shirley Temple" "and you?" "I'll have a scotch on the rocks" After the waitress left Carter asked "So, why aren't you drinking?"
"Well, I don't want to have a hang over and someone has to drive us home." The waitress brought their drinks and Lucy notices the waitress was checking Carter out. This sent a bit of jealousy down her spine. She thought "Why am I Jealous".
"I'll be right back" She stated. Carter watched her leave and he noticed a guy stareing at her. He quickly became a little jealous. "Why am I jealous?" he questioned.

After she returned, the small talked continued. It was mostly about work. both of them were cautious, they knew deep down that they liked each other but neither would admit it. The small talk got boring and Lucy needed to get home. "Well, Carter I need to go pretty soon but before we go I insist you have one dance with me!" she said. Lucy dragged him on the dance floor just as they heard Etta James voice fill the room.

As Carter held her he could smell her perfume. It was intoxicating. Lucy looked uo to him and stared into his eyes. She reached up and kssed him. Her mind screamed "What are you thinking?" but her heart told her to shut up and enjoy it.
Carter was thinking "What does this mean? You don't just kiss like this twice if it's nothing"
As the song finished they both pulled away reluctantly.
"Well, we better be going" Carter said. "Yeah" Lucy whisptered.

After she dropped him off at his apartment she headed to hers. All she thought about during the drive home was those two amazing kisses they shared. Her mind questioned "What does this mean? How does Carter feel about this? I wondewr what he thought of it?" She still could feel his lips on hers. "God he is an amazing kisser!" she breathed.

When she got in her apartment she decided she needed to take a long hot bath to clear her head. She ran the water and walked into the living room to take off her coat and play her messages. " You have three new messages" The first was her mom, "Hey sweetie, called to say happy Valentine's Day. I got the card you send it was great. Did you get the check I sent you? Well I'll try you later! Love you Bye." The next was Dale "Hi Luce, It's Dale where are you? I can't find you. Well, I just you're on your way or something. Bye" The last was Dale again "Lucy, I just called to say we are over. Oh. and thanks for standing me up on Valentine's Day" he said sarcasticly. "Jerk" she mumbeled. She quickly got undressed and got in her buble bath. She tried to relax but all she think about Carter. She closed her eyes and tried to clear her mind.

Lucy fell asleep in the tub. After a while she was awaken to the sound of knocking at her door. After being scared out of her wits she called out "Hang on!". She quickly dried off and put on her robe. The knocking contineued and Lucy was going to give whoever it was a piece of her mind. "I'm comming" she screamed. She flung open to the door.
"Carter What are you doing here?"
