Two Month Waiting
CARTER AND LUCYS APT
Lucy is up on a stool, trying to reach something on a high shelf. Carter comes out of their room and sees her up on it
"Lucy, down now!" Carter orders and puts his hands on her hips
Lucy gets down
"Geez, quit worrying John, you'll give yourself a hernia" Lucy says
"Lucy, why don't you see if Abby wants to go Christmas shopping or something" Carter says
"Ok, I'll go phone her then" Lucy says and walks away
LATER ON
"Bye John!" Lucy calls out
Carter comes through. He gives her a kiss
"Have a nice time" he tells her
Lucy leaves. Carter goes over to thephone and picks it up and dials a number
"Hello.....Yeh she just left....Uh huh...Thats fine....Ok bye" he puts the phone down
MID AFTERNOON - A SHOPPING MALL
Lucy and Abby are sitting in a cafe having a snack. Lucy has a really weird, disgusting sounding thing and Abby has a salad
"That looks disgusting" Abby says
"Lucy?!" a voice calls out
oh brilliant, she thought, she plastered a fake smile on her face and turned around
"Dale! It's great to see you" she says
"How are you? I heard about the stabbing, I was meaning to call you" Dale says
I bet you were, Lucy thought "I'm fine" she says
"I was kinda upset at the way things ended between us Lucy, I was wondering would you like to go out for dinner some time?" Dale asks
"Sorry Dale, I'm taken" Lucy says showing him her ring finger "Shall we get back to our shopping Abby?" Lucy asks with a mischeivious glint in her eye. Abby guesses what she's up to
"Sure" Abby says
They get up and Dale can now see Lucys bump
"HOLY S**T, when and how did this happen?" Dale asks
Him shouting has grabbed the attention of some nearby customers
"When? About 7 months ago. How? Well Dale, I thought you would already know about the birds and the bees" Lucy says
"Haha, who's the guy?" Dale asks
"John Carter" Lucy says
"So the rumours about you and him and the exam room were true?" Dale asks
"Yep" Lucy says sweetly
EVEN LATER ON - OUTSIDE CARTER AND LUCYS APT
"I am so tired" Lucy says "Are you coming in?" Lucy asks
"No, I have to get home" Abby says
"Okay, bye" Lucy says and enters the apartment
"Hey John, I'm home" Lucy calls out
"Hey Luce, I have a surprise for you" he says and covers her eyes
He leads her into the nursery which has been decorated pink with letters (like a, b, c) decorated over the pink in lots of different colours. He uncovers her eyes
"You did this?" she asks
"With help from Jerry, Mark and Dave" Carter says
"Thank you" she says and kisses him
