EPISODE 21
Juan:      Que tal.
Mónica: Buenas tardes.
Juan:      Puedo pasar?
Mónica: Es que... mi mama esta descansando..
Juan:     No vengo a verla a ella.
Mónica: No es correcto que estemos solos.
Juan:      Otras veces lo hemos hecho.
Mónica: Si, pero... no estabamos comprometidos...
Juan:      Y no te parece tonto?
Quieres sentarte?
Juan:      Gracias.
Juan:      Antes que nada, como has estado?
Mónica: Bien, gracias... y tu?
Juan:      Bien...
Juan:      Si. Ya tengo mi apellido.
Mónica: Me alegro.
Juan:      ..
Mónica: No.
Juan:      Tus parientes? Andres? ... y tu hermana?
Mónica: No se, no creo.
Juan:      Los vas a invitar?
Mónica: Bueno, invitarlos si, pero...
Juan:      Piensas que no vendran?... .
... Que alivio, verdad?

Juan:      Manana a las 10 entonces?
Mónica: Si.
Juan:     Saludame a tu mama.
Mónica: Gracias.
Juan:      Nos vemos...

Juan:      How are you?
Monica: Good evening.
Juan:      May I come in?
Monica: Well... My mother is resting.
Juan:      I haven't come to see her.
Monica: We shouldn't be alone... without company.
Juan:      We've done so in the past.
Monica: Yes, but we weren't engaged then.
Juan:      Don't you think that's ridiculous? Besides, I'm not going to take advantage of you. Don't worry! I only  want to talk to you and make sure we agree on certain things.
Monica: Alright. Would you like to sit down?
Juan:      Thank you. First of all, how have you been?
Monica: Fine... what about you?
Juan:      Fine. I've been to the registry office with Dona Sofia and lawyer Mancera.
Monica: Has everything been arranged?
Juan:      Yes, I've got my name.
Monica: I'm glad.
Juan:     There aren't impediments for our marriage any longer. Or... have you changed your mind?
Monica: No.
Juan:      Well, when will we go to the church to make all the arrangements?
Monica: Whenever you wish.
Juan:     Tomorrow?
Monica: Okay.
Juan:      Shall I come by at ten o'clock tomorrow? Who are going to be your witnesses?
Monica: My mother... of course, and maybe lawyer Mancera.
Juan:      Your relatives? Andres?...And your sister?
Monica: I don't know, I don't think so.
Juan:      Are you going to invite them?
Monica: Well, I will invite them, but...
Juan:      Do you think they won't come? When you were following me in Campo Real trying to convince me not to say anything to Andres you weren't saying as little as you are saying now.
Monica: It's just that I had something important to tell you then, whereas now...
Juan:      Whereas now what? Is our marriage less important to you than Andres' happiness? I want you to speak! Open up to me! I want us to really get to know each other. I'd like to  know what pleases you, what bothers you, what you think of me... or what you expect of me.
Monica: I expect that you will be a good husband.
Juan:     What is a good husband according to you? Tell me in your own words, considering our life together.
Monica: Well, that you ... don't raise your voice, that you are civil, that you respect me and that you are an honourable man.
Juan:      This definition applies to a father or a brother. But between husband and wife there should also be - I'm not saying love! - because apparently there is no such thing between us - but intimacy. Don't you think about that?
Mónica: Yes.
Juan:      And..?
Mónica: One is not supposed to talk about such things.
Juan:      You are indeed very different from your sister... Well, I should be going... What a relief, hah?

Juan:      Tomorrow at 10 then?
Mónica: Yes.
Juan:      Give my regards to your mother.
Mónica: Thank you.
Juan:      See you...
