"Lookee what I found," Warren crowed triumphantly as he pushed Dawn into the van. The young girl had her hands tied in front of her and looked terrified.
"Wow, that's incredible...where did you find her, cause Buffy and the rest of them have been looking for days?" Andrew asked.
"I have my ways," Warren replied smugly. The other two exchanged knowing glances.
"She's a robot," they said in unison.
"She is NOT a robot. She's the real deal. Buffy's sister."
"What do you want with me? Are you going to hurt me? Please, please don't hurt me," Dawn said softly, her voice trembling. Her eyes brimmed with unshed tears. Andrew and Jonathan exchanged glances again. She wasn't acting like one of Warren's robots. He'd actually found the Slayer's sister.
"We're not gonna hurt you. We're not like that," Jonathan rushed to reassure her.
"I mean, we're supervillains, sure, but we don't hurt girls, cause that would be creepy and wrong," Andrew added.
"We're just gonna threaten to hurt you so that Buffy will do what we want," Jonathan finished. Warren slapped him on the back of the head. "Hey! Would you quit doing that?"
"Would you quit telling everyone the master plan? Don't you know that bragging about the master plan to the hero is the number one supervillain mistake?" Warren exclaimed in exasperation.
"Sorry," Jonathan said.
"But, she's not the hero in this scenario. She's the bait," Andrew corrected. Warren gave him a warning look.
"I'm not bait," Dawn whispered.
"Same rule applies to bait. Don't tell her what she doesn't need to know. In fact, why are your trying to make her not afraid of you? You‘re a villain! She‘s supposed to be afraid of you," Warren finished, looking back and forth between the others until they nodded acquiesence.
"I'm not bait."
“Hey, can we put her in the gold bikini? You know, the one like Princess Leia...” Andrew trailed off at the disgusted looks from his companions.
“Hello? I mean, that’s just digusting,” Jonathan said, rolling his eyes.
“Totally kiddie porn. Not to mention what Buffy would...what is WRONG with you?” Warren spit out. Andrew hung his head.
“She’s the first person we‘ve captured, that’s all,” he muttered. “I thought it would make her look baitier.”
“I’m not bait,” Dawn said again, her teeth clenched.
"So just how do we get the Slayer to do what we want?" Andrew asked. He and Jonathan stared at Warren expectantly.
"Do I have to think of everything?" Warren exploded. "I'm the one that found the bait, you guys figure out how to make the trap."
"I'm. Not. Bait!" Dawn yelled. They looked at her curiously.
"God, get a grip," Andrew said snarkily.
"If you're not bait, what are you?" Jonathan asked. The ropes that had been tying her wrists drifted to the floor. Dawn pulled Warren to her from behind, her fangs grazing his neck. She smiled.
"Hungry."
