Stefano married Vivian to get his hands on the priceless treasures in her home, the home, which actually belonged to Stefano and which he could NOT admit to.  WHY?

Before Vivian married Stefano, however, she married Jonesy and this precipitated the wedding of Stefano and Vivian.

It seems that Jonesy was, in fact, a caretaker of a home that belonged to Stefano and Stefano had priceless treasures in the home.  Vivian, believing Jonesy was rich married him to get her hands of the fortune in side his house, a house belonging to Stefano.
