Roman was late for the nuptials when, while he was being fitted for his tux someone tried to kill him in the menswear store.

They tried to marry and Eugene stopped a gun man from shooting Roman and Marlena.

On their second try they became man and wife but Malena spent her honeymoon with her ex husband Don Craig while Roman went undercover in jail to try and get "the goods" on Stefano Di Mera.  Roman finally put out an arrest warrant for Stefano, however, Stefano escaped and took Marlena and Liz Chandler hostage.  While being held Liz gave birth to a little girl, Noel, while Stefano tried to escape with Marlena in a helicopter.  Roman arrived just in time and saved the day and his new bride.

Roman whisked his new bride off to the mountains for a snowbound honeymoon.

White there, they learned that Stefano had died in custody of a heart attack. (The first of many deaths for the infamous Stefano Di Mera)
