Aching limbs, broken skin, all tell tale signs of my fight

For so many long years I have waged this battle,

I have fallen and rose just to be knocked down again.

All seemed dark and bleak until I saw your face.

That bright radiant face that ignited my world in brilliant color

Your light burnt my soul and gave me purpose, but all hope, for a moment’s time, was lost.

Lost in darkness and utter despair, only to be brought back and tossed into torment

Your radiant light again released me from pain and brought me back to your arms.

But I knew life would never be the same, would never return to what was.

The on-going journey and quest through life tore me from your brilliance and brought me to this dank place.

For so long, I lost my way here but your image in my mind kept me strong.

Your light still shone from afar and warmed my innermost being.

Like a candle flickering in the distance, you shed light to this cold heart,

But that candle could not withstand the wind or rain that squelched my brilliant sun.

Now I am lost with no light to guide me on my quest, no warmth to give me comfort.

Utterly lost without you with me.

The pain is more than my soul can bear, as I feel absolutely nothing

Only pain and heartache, my immortal body with a mortal soul enshrines and I find there is no hope for me.

No peace, nor rest nor absolution can soothe my pain for I am lost without you

I pray for death to paint my features so that I may join you in your peaceful rest.

And it that peaceful rest, I shall find my hope,

That someday, yes someday, you will lead me home.

THE END!!
