Summery: Carter recently proposed to Anna and she agreed. They announce it to the ER for some interesting reactions.....

Carter woke up that morning with Anna laying next to him. He looked at her and smiled. She returned the
smile and sat up. He got up and headed for the bathroom. Anna called out to him and he turned. She had
only wanted to thank him for the night before. He grinned and went to have a shower. Anna lay back and
went to sleep. Carter came out and looked at Anna sleeping. He went over and gave her a kiss and headed
upstairs. Weaver was sitting at the table. She offered him pancakes and he thanked her. He ate and got
up. Carter went downstairs unprepared to find Anna up and showered. She greeted

him with a kiss. He responded passionately. She told him they should set a date if they wanted to get
married soon. She asked him if they should let anyone know. He thought about it. No one really knew
that they were together. They were pretty discreet. Not even Weaver knew. All she knew was that Anna

was staying with them. Carter agrred that they should let people know--after they set a date. Anna thought
about that. It was March now and a May wedding would be nice. She told Carter this. He agreed. They
got out their calendar and saw that May 23rd was a weekend that they were both off. They agreed that
was the perfect date. " Where are we gonna live?"

" What do you mean John?"

" It wouldn't be fair to Weaver to have a married couple in her basement."

" I see your point, but remember, you're not getting paid so we can't really afford to move."

" I know. We should at least tell her first."

" Okay let's do it right now."

They headed upstairs to the kitchen and saw Weaver sitting at the table. First they told her they were
dating. She said she had figured that out. Then Anna told her they were engaged. She was surprised, but
happy for them. " Have you set a date?"

" Yes. May 23rd.''

" I'll try and keep it open, that is, if you want me there."

" Of course! Why wouldn't we?"

" No reason."

" We'll try and find a place we can afford on my salery."

" Why? What's wrong with the basement?"

" Nothing, but it wouldn't be fair to you to have a married couple living in your basement."

" I wouldn't mind."

" We'll consider it."

" Okay."

The two of them headed downstairs. " John, lets hurry! We have to get to work!!"

" Alright!"

When they got to work, they already had patients on the board. They ran around. At around noon, all was
quiet. They headed towards the admit desk. " I have an announcement to make."

" Alright, go for it," said Carol.

" Well not many of you know, but Anna and I have been seeing each other."

" Wow! That's great! Okay, who won?"

" You guys ran a book?"

" Of course! ER tradition. Jerry,"

" Dr.Greene won."

" How much?"

"295 dollars."

"Oh. Well we have been seeing each other for several months and have decided to get married."

"WHAT!!"

" We've been discussing it for awhile."

" How did you manage this?"

" WE were discreet."

" Did Dr. Weaver know?"

" No."

" Oh. That's one less pool we can run"

" Sorry." Carter and Anna left to get their stuff together to go. Carol comes in.

" Have you set a date?"

" Yes. May 23rd."

" In two months???"

" Yes. We'd better get planning!"
