Carter turned to the counter and............chops up some veggies. He puts a
carrot in his mouth and says " Anyone want some?"

" Sure," says Lucy. " Thank you."

" Have a seat, Carter." Offers Carol. He sits at the table with the group.
They glance oddly at Carol. She just nods. " Carter, do you want to tell
them what we were talking about?"

" Not really, but okay." He took a deep breath. " I was telling Carol about
how I was thinking about commiting suicide. She told me about what she had
been thinking about when she tried to commit suicide."

" Carter, you don't need to think about that! You know you can talk to any
of us. We want to listen. If you want to talk, we'll never turn you down.
We've known you for a long time and had no idea you were contemplating
suicide. I think you can talk to Kerry at home because she's always there.
You told us what happened to you, but was that all?"

" No. I was really hurt when Anna left. I loved her but didn't tell her. It
was my fault. I should have said something."

" Carter, I knew the day you asked me out. I said no because I thought I had
feelings for Max, but when he came, I just was so confused. I just ran! I
never did get together with Max. I did miss you though. I'm sorry for not
calling."

" It's okay. I had a rebound girl. Her name was Roxanne. We broke up. You
would not have like to call and have her answer the phone."

" Well I guess it would be the same with Max."

" I guess. When's everyone on?"

" I'm on at nine." Said Mark.

" We're not on until noon," said Lucy. " If you're coming in."

" I will be. I'm feeling pretty good right now. I feel much better telling
people how I feel. It helps me cope with what's happening in my life. Anna,
I never thanked you for being around during the fallout of my familly. And
for helping Chase."

" You're welcome. I think I may be moving to Chicago. I miss it here and I
have nothing at home. Especially close friends." The phone rings.

" I'll get it." He picks it up. " Hello. Yes this is he. I'm fine. They
talked me down. Thanks for checking on me Dr. Benton. Yes I will be
working.
I need to." He's listening for a moment. " Thank you. Good bye!" He turned
around. " That was Dr. Benton seeing if everyone was okay."

" Well, now what do we do?"

What happens next?

a) Carter and Anna get together

b) They all go to work

c) They settle in and watch TV
