" I have to think about it a little more, but I'll answer you later."

" Okay. Well, I will see you at the house."

" Where are you going?"

" To think."

" Are you upset?"

" No. I just need to think."

" Okay. I'll see you at home."

At that, they went their seperate ways.

Carter walked along the little ravine by the hospital. He was a little
upset. But not at Anna. At himself. He was upset because he blew it. He
shouldn't have proposed. He knew the answer before hand, and he didn't
understand why he had done it. Well he knew, but he wasn't planning on it.
He should have planned on it better. He knew he wanted it. He felt odd. He
didn't even know anymore. All he knew was that Anna had said no.

Anna sat at home. She checked the time. 1 am. She started to wonder weather she was right to say no. The more she thought about it, the more she realized she did want to marry Carter. She had wanted to marry him. She did not know why she said no. She was tired so she went to bed.

Carter slipped in at 1:30. Kerry sat in the living room. " Carter."

" Hi Kerry."

" Anna was worried."

" I know."

" What happened?"

" Didn't Anna tell you?"

" Yes. But I want to hear it from you."

" What is there to say? I screwed up. So, what else is new?"

" Carter, you didn't screw up." she said quietly.

" Yes I did. I proposed and she rejected me."

" Go talk to her Carter."

" Isn't she asleep?"

" Probably. She wants to talk to you."

" Why should she?"

" You'll see. She ran it past me first."

" Goodnight Kerry."

" Goodnight Carter." she sighed. " Good luck Anna."

As soon as Carter got downstars Anna awoke. " Where did you go?"

" By the ravine."

" Are you mad at me?"

" No."

" Why didn't you come home?"

" I had to think."

" Carter......"

" Anna, you don't need to say anything."

" I want to marry you."

" WHAT? I'm confused."

" Well, I've decided that I had wanted to marry you all along. I'm sorry I
didn't say yes."

" That's no big deal. Wow. We're getting married!"

Weaver stepped back from the door. She smiled. It was about time something
went well for Carter.
