Chapter One
The point of this story is how Carter feels after Anna leaves. We all know he loved her.
It was as if he couldn't make it more obvious on the show.
The song is "Anna's Song (Open Fire)" by Silverchair.
Thanks to my friend Jeff for downloading it and recording it onto a CD. The song describes
all the pain and how much it hurts when this Anna person leaves. It was way too perfect
for a fanfic. So I'm excited about this one. I suggest you find "Anna's Song (Open
Fire)" by Silverchair, somewhere. Download it off the net, or buy the CD called
"Neon Ballroom". It's a great song that everyone should hear, I love it. It's so
awesome.
John Carter watched Anna Del Amico say her good-byes to everyone in the ER. She had
decided to go back to Philadelphia with her ex-boyfriend Max Rosher.
She just got here, why is she leaving?, thought John.
Him and Anna became great friends over a short period of time. Anna once told John that he
was the only real friend she had made in Chicago. Now that Anna was leaving John realized
he loved her. She was a remarkable woman, with a great personality. Not to mention that
she was beautiful also.
Anna came up to John. "I wanted to save the hardest good-bye for last." John and
Anna hugged.
"I'll miss you." John said.
"I'll miss you too. You were a great friend. I have a lot of memories." Anna said.
"Good-bye Anna." John said.
"Good-bye John." Anna turned and left with Max. John watched them go. He had been staring at the ambulance bay doors for quite a while when Carol Hathaway came up to him.
"She's gone, Carter." Carol said.
"I know."
"Do you miss her?"
John nodded. "Yes. I do miss her a lot. I keep waiting for her to come back through those doors."
"You know she won't." Carol said.
"I never got to tell her that I loved her." John said. "I have so many regrets about that."
Carol put a hand on his shoulder. "But what you will have are many memories."
John thought about all he did with Anna.
Anna bailing him out of jail.
Waking her up while she was asleep in an exam room.
Doing their laundry together, and ruining a load with sandwiches in a dryer.
The look on John's face when Anna killed a cockroach in her apartment.
The time she helped with Chase.
When John accidentally saw her bottom from under the sheet, while doing the bone marrow
extraction.
John smiled. He had a great time with Anna. Remembering these things made him feel better.
His shift was over for the day so he headed towards his jeep in the garage. When John
turned on the radio, the song that was being played caught his attention.
Please die Anna.
For as long as you're here we're not.
You make the sound of laughter.
And sharpened nails seem softer.
And I need you now somehow.
And I need you now somehow.
Open fire on the needs designed.
On my knees for you.
Open fire on my knees desires.
What I need from you.
Imagine a pageant.
In my head the flesh seems thicker.
Sandpaper tears corrode the filth.
And I need you now somehow.
And I need you now somehow.
Open fire on the needs designed.
On my knees for you.
Open fire on my knees desires.
What I need from you.
And you're my obsession.
I love you to the bones.
And Anna wrecks your life.
Like an Anorexia life.
Open fire on the needs designed.
On my knees for you.
Open fire on my knees desires.
What I need from you.
Open fire on the needs designed.
Open fire on my knees desires.
On my knees for you.
"Isn't that ironic?" John said to himself. He put the jeep in 'Drive' and drove
away.
The End.
