SUMMARY: Ally's suspicions grow greater the more she sees Dave.
Previously in the Series: Ally sensed there was
something wrong with Dave, but he denied it. Ally
announced that her father was coming into town, and
she, her father and Dave are going to have dinner
together.
Ally rushed around her house, trying to clean up some
of the clutter. Her Dad watched as she flew around her
little place
"Ally, its just Dave and I - not the king." Her father
teased.
Ally laughed and carried on. Dinner was almost ready.
"Smells good." Her father commented.
"Thanks - Now where is Dave?" Ally mumbled to herself.
"He's probably just running late." Her dad said,
flipping to the news on the television.
Ally nodded and sat down next to her Dad. "Well he
better hurry before the food gets cold." Ally remarked
leaning against her Dad.
"So, can I ask you, are you serious about this guy?"
Ally looked at her Dad with a flustered look."I guess
I am serious to a certain point, otherwise I wouldn't
just act like I liked a person for the heck of it,
Dad"
"Of course you wouldn't, I meant serious as in
marriage.."
Ally was taken back. and held her breath as she got up
from the couch "I am going to check on the potatoes"
Ally said walking into the kitchen. "I never talked
about it with him Dad. I mean, we haven't exactly
known each other that long, and well, I don't think
either of us are ready for such a big commitment. I
don't even know if he's even thought about it" Ally
said her face burning from the heat pouring out of the
oven.
"That's true"
"20 minutes late - That's not Like Dave." Ally said a
little worried.
"I'm sure it'll be fine." Her father said. "The news
says there's going to be a big storm."
"Tell me about it." Ally muttered to herself.
Don't think I can't feel there's something wrong
You've been the sweetest part of my life so long
I look in your eyes there's a distant light
And you and I know there'll be a storm tonight
"Maybe I should call him" Ally dialed his number on
the phone...only to get no answer.
"Maybe he left already." Her dad called out as she
paced around the house. "Alyson Marie, sit down before
you fall down"
"I am going to see if he's okay. If I am not back in a
half hour, eat without us" Ally said, while putting on
her coat.
Baby think twice for the sake of our love, for the memory
For the fire and the faith that was you and me
Baby I know it ain't easy when your soul cries out for a higher ground
'Coz when you're halfway up, you're always halfway down
Ally stood outside Dave's apartment, knocking on the
door. "Dave" She called out. "Dave, are you here?"
Ally turned the doorknob, only to find it unlocked.
She opened it, shutting it behind her. She called out
to Dave, but there was no answer. She went into the
kitchen, and found Dave with his head on the table.
Thinking that maybe he was asleep, she gently put her
hand on his arm..."Dave.." She said softly.
"Stay the hell away from me and her." He screamed out
loud, his eyes still closed. He opened his eyes to
find Ally standing there with a hurt look on her face.
He tried to catch his breath, and looked down. "Ally -
I didn't know you were here" He tried to explain
sheepishly.
"Dave, what is going on? Why did you, you yell? Who
did you think I was?" She asked. Realizing how many
questions she had asked, she tried to calm down and
thought to herself for a minute. He said to stay away
from him and her....She looked up at him, having an
idea of what was going on, and she softly said, "Dave
you've been acting strange. I need to know what is
wrong because you are worrying me. Don't say that
there is nothing wrong, because there is" She kept her
hands on her lap, and waited for him to explain....as
she regained her composure.
"I am fine." Dave annunciated each word carefully.
"You are NOT fine. Were you having a flashback to
your attack?" She asked.
"No!" Dave lied.
"You were! You really were." She realized. "Dave,
look, I love you, but you need help. I could...."
"I do NOT need help, and I do not need you to butt
in!" He snapped.
"But Dave I want to help you and you need me whether
you know that or not..."
"Get out of here. I do not need this right now..."
"But Dave - " She could tell by the look in Dave's
face that he had made up his mind, and wasn't going to
change it. She stood up and kissed him on the forehead
"Goodbye Dave" She said softly, wondering if she was
losing Dave...Her Dave.
Don't say what you're about to say
Look back before you leave my life
Be sure before you close that door
Before you roll those dice
Baby think twice
Getting in the car, she numbly drove home. She
entered her apartment, holding back tears.
"Ally? Where's Dave?" Her father asked, helping her
take off her coat.
"Uh, uh...He's sick - He was asleep when I got there.
He has a bad cold, and won't be able to make it
tonight." She lied. "Well, I'll just get dinner
ready, and the two of us will eat."
Ally walked into her kitchen, feeling her way along
the counters. She walked over to the sink, looking
out the window directly above it. The wind had
started to blow, and the leaves on the trees were
being blown back and forth. Lighting lit up the sky,
and thunder crashed......
...And down came the rain.
