AUTHOR'S NOTES:
SUMMARY: The big day finally arrives for Ally and Dave
"I can't believe Dave and Ally are actually getting
married today." Chuny remarked, as she sat in the
lounge.
"I can't believe Dave actually got someone to marry
him. Now there's the unbelievable part." Randi
laughed.
"I can hardly believe it too, you know..." Dave's
voice came from behind them, surprising them.
"Malucci - what are you doing here? I thought you
were suppose to be getting married today?" Randi
replied.
"I am - and you're both coming...It's just that I left
the plane tickets in my locker....The tickets for the
honeymoon that is...." Dave said, searching through
his locker, "There they are. I'll see you ladies
later." Dave said, walking out of the lounge.
"Still can't believe it though," Chuny laughed.
"Dress, shoes, hair, makeup. Oh man, something old,
something new, something borrowed, something
blue....There's too much to do!" Ally rattled off
nervously.
"Ally, relax please, okay?" Her mother said, placing a
hand on her shoulder. "Something old is your
necklace. Something new is your dress. Your earrings
are borrowed, and Blue, blue...."
"See! I don't even have something blue!" Ally
squealed.
"Katie, can you hand me her garter?" Irene Malucci
asked her sister. Upon getting the garter, she
proceeded to pin on a blue ribbon that had come with
the flowers. "Here's your something blue."
"You've got your hair and your makeup done already,
Ally....You just need your dress, shoes, and flowers,
and you'll be ready. Just calm down." Her mother said
calmly.
"Oh, why did I ever say I'd have my wedding in June?
I'm sweating already!" Ally continued babbling on.
"I don't think she paid attention to the 'calm down'
part, huh?" Katie Malucci joked to one of her sisters.
Ally took a deep breath in and out. "I'm sorry
everybody. I'm just a little stressed." She said,
surveying the room. Both her and Dave's mothers were
there, as well as all of Dave's sisters. "You all
look great....And me, I'm just wearing jeans right
now! I better go get dressed!" Ally exclaimed,
rushing off to her room.
"There she goes again." Her mother shook her head.
"The guys have it easy with the wedding. Am I right,
or am I right, Carter?" Dave said, adjusting his
tuxedo jacket in the gazebo where he and Ally would be
married.
"Yeah, you don't have to worry about anything
really....Except for the fact that you'll be married
within an hour." Carter remarked, fixing his tie.
"Well, that part doesn't worry me - I can't wait to
marry her." Dave smiled. "I just - It's wonderful."
"Oh Ally, you look wonderful." Katie exclaimed as Ally
walked into the area directly outside the garden.
Ally's dress was spaghetti straps and mid cut with a
little beading on the very top. The bottom of the top
formed a 'V' and lead to the skirt which was satiny
shimmery style, with a long train and buttons up the
back. In her hands she held a boquet of yellow roses.
"Are you ready?"
"Yes."
The music started, and each of the bridesmaids went
down the aisle. First Dana, then Irene, then Sara,
then Jane, and finally Katie. It was then Ally's
turn. She walked down the aisle slowly, savoring
everyone's reactions. But the thing that made her
smile even more was the look of awe on Dave's face as
she walked down the aisle. As soon as she reached the
gazebo, the preacher began talking. Finally, he
reached the vows.
"David and Alyson, you have come here today to seek
the blessing of God and of his Church upon your
marriage." The preacher turned to Dave, "David, you
have taken Alyson to be your wife. Do you promise to
love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness
and in health; and, forsaking all others, to be
faithful to her as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." Dave answered.
The preacher then turned to Ally, Alyson, you have
taken David to be your husband. Do you promise to love
him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and
in health; and, forsaking all others, to be faithful
to him as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." Ally replied.
"Then by the power invested in me by the state of
Illinois, I now pronounce you husband and wife." The
preacher paused. "You may kiss the bride."
Dave and Ally kissed, sealing their marriage, and a
lifetime of things to come.
