SUMMARY: A day with a documentary crew proves to be more than what Dave and Ally expected.
"Did you check the battery?" Jenny Adams asked her
cameraman.
"Of course I checked it. What kind of idiot do you
think I am?" Her camera man, Derek replied.
"Okay smartie, then where can we find that doctor?"
Argument broke out once again between the two, until
Dave walked up.
"Can I help you?" Dave asked the bickering pair.
"Do you know where Dr. Weaver is?" Jenny asked,
adjusting her camera.
"Oh, you're the camera crew - I can help you find
her...." Dave said, starting to look.
"Actually, let's talk to you first." Jenny said,
shoving the camera in his face. "I'm Jenny and this is
Derek. What's your name?"
"Dave Malucci." Dave said, feeling a bit
uncomfortable.
"And what exactly do you do here?"
"I'm a doctor." Dave replied, shifting his weight to
his other leg.
"Ah, so you see ladies," Jenny spoke into the camera.
"There is such a thing as a good looking doctor."
"Are you making a documentary or a dating service
video," Dave joked. "Because if it's a dating service
video, you can count me out - I'm married," Dave
pointed to his wedding band and repeated, "Married.
Here - I'll take you to Dr. Weaver."
"Has anyone seen my stethoscope? Have you seen it
Cleo?" Ally said, searching frantically for her
stethoscope.
"No. Hey, do you want a muffin?" Cleo asked, holding
one up.
"No thanks. I'm not hungry. Of course the hunger
will hit me like a freight train as soon as the ER is
too busy to leave.....Ah here!" Ally said, locating
her stethoscope, and heading towards the door. "Wish
me luck as I go into the world of film. Who would
have ever thought I'd be a movie star?" She giggled as
she left, but stumbled.
"Ally, are you okay?" Cleo asked.
"I just feel a little light-headed, that's all....I'll
be fine." Ally said as she stumbled again.
"No - We're getting you into an exam room. I want you
to lie down." Cleo commanded.
"Oh man." Ally said as she was escorted to an empty
exam room."
Jenny Adams pushed open the door, to see a woman lying
down, "Oh, I'm sorry - I'll just..."
"No, it's okay - I wasn't even resting really. I'm
only in here because one of the doctors made me rest.
I should be working now." Ally said, sitting up.
"Oh, so you work here?"
"Yeah, I just felt light headed, probably because I
didn't eat this morning and....Sorry, I'm babbling
on...." Ally blushed.
"No, it's okay. Actually, would you mind if I
interviewed and taped you?" Jenny asked, getting her
camera out.
"Go right ahead." Ally replied.
Jenny turned on the camera. "Okay, state your name
and position."
"I'm a nurse. My name is Ally Malucci."
"Oh, are you Dr. Malucci's wife?" Jenny inquired.
"Yes. So you met Dave, huh? He didn't pester you too
much, I hope." Ally laughed.
"No, he was very polite. You have any kids?"
"No, no we don't. We've only been married for four
months, so..." Ally answered.
"Do you want to have kids?"
"Eventually. Just now is so hectic....But definitely
later."
The door swung open, and in walked Cleo. "Sorry to
interrupt - Ally, would you like me to do a blood test
- Just to make sure you're okay."
"Cleo, I didn't eat this morning, it's just..."
"I know - But better safe than sorry. Plus, Weaver's
orders." Cleo declared, setting down the kit. "Now
Ally, other than the light headedness, have you had
any other complaints?" Cleo asked as she took the
blood.
"I felt nauseous this morning."
"Any chance you could be pregnant?" Cleo asked, while
testing the blood.
"No." Ally replied bluntly. "I mean, there's been the
opportunity, but Dave and I have been so careful..."
"Evidently, not careful enough." Cleo quipped. "You're
pregnant."
"Excuse me?" Ally said in shock. "I'm pregnant?"
"Yes."
Later, Ally entered the lounge to see Dave.
"Hey, I heard you weren't feeling well." Dave queried.
"Uh, yeah. I have to tell you something...." Ally
folded her hands. "I'm pregnant. I know we wanted to
wait, but..."
"It's wonderful." Dave threw his arms around her.
"Just wonderful." He took Ally by the hand, and headed
for the front desk. "Hey everyone - Ally and I have
something we'd like to tell you....
