Away on a gurney

No room for a bed

A huge alcoholic

Lays down his spinning head

The doctors above him look down where he lays

A too-happy patient, unconscious and stray.

To exam two please doctor

Someone is awake

It’s the baby

Who tried to eat a whole steak

You finish at seven; I’m off now, goodbye

Can you treat the man in 4 who had the MI?

Be near me Nurse Hathaway

And pass me that tray

Get the blood gas and a CAT scan

We may need X ray

Tube him and bag him, and try not to stare

At his gangrenous fingers, just grin and bear.
