Elizabeth Mitchell is quickly rising through the talent ranks for both film and television. Most audiences remember her best playing Linda opposite Angelina Jolie's Golden Globe-winning portrayal of the tragic 1980's supermodel Gia Carangi, in HBO's critically-acclaimed bio-pic, Gia, and as Dr. Kim Legaspi last season on NBC's hit television drama series, ER. Blue-eyed and 5 feet 9 and half inches tall, Elizabeth holds a B.F.A. in Acting from Stephens College and has studied at the British American Drama Academy (BADA). She has studied acting with George Hall, stage combat with Mike Loades (Master of Combat - Lee Strasburg Institute, London), improvisation with Fiona Shaw, and is skilled in stage combat techniques such as hand-to-hand combat, rapier, and dagger. She also likes to water and snow ski as well as ride horseback. Her extensive stage experience includes national tours for "Three Tall Women" and regional theater productions in New York, Texas, Iowa, and Missouri. Originally reported by the Hollywood Reporter, Elizabeth has begun shooting opposite Tim Allen in Mrs. Claus - The Santa Claus 2. The film is currently on-location in Vancouver, British Columbia and is being directed by Michael Lembeck. Elizabeth's co-stars include Wendy Crewson, who also starred in The Beast with Elizabeth, as well as Judge Reinhold and Spencer Breslin. The film is scheduled for release during the 2002 holiday season. Most recently, Elizabeth was on-location in London filming the BBC's adaption of Tony Parsons' hit novel Man and Boy. The telefilm is slated to air the weekend of March 30th on BBC-TV. She also guest-starred on the November 20th episode of ABC's Spin City and starred as "Alice Allenby" in the limited-run TV series for ABC called The Beast.
In Hollywood Palms, Elizabeth will be playing "Clare," opposite Summer School alumni Patrick Labyorteaux (TV's J.A.G.) and Dean Cameron, who also wrote the project. The film is being directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff and completed filming in December 2000. There's still no word on when the film will be released or what the plot is about, but some of the other cast members include Jay R. Ferguson, Judge Reinhold, Padget Brewster, Matt Adler, and Kristin Bauer. You can learn more about Hollywood Palms by visiting Dean Cameron's Hollywood Palms Shooting Journal.
