Lucy treats Paul Sobriki (recurring guest star DAVID KRUMHOLTZ - "Liberty Heights"), a 23-year-old law student. Initially Lucy believes he only suffers from a migraine headache, but the patient later exhibits altered mental status and begins babbling. Lucy believes he's schizophrenic, requests a psychiatric consult and waits with her patient. As Lucy's supervisor, Carter needs her to attend to other patients. When he enters Sobriki's exam room, Sobriki viciously stabs Carter in the back with a large knife. Carter falls and sees Lucy lying on the ground soaked in her own blood.

This episode was one of my top 5. I was very sad when Carter fell to the floor to find Lucy laying in her own blood. Unable to talk the only thing she could do was look at Carter knowing she was going to die.
