Who can turn the world on with her smile? You're probably thinking of Mary Tyler Moore, but Emmy-nominated actress Krista Tesreau fits the All-American, working girl-next-door type for the new millennium.

Though some people are born into show business, Krista seems to have been genetically predisposed to it. At the tender age of two, the St. Louis-born actress possessed the urge to perform. She started to play piano at the age of three and began lessons a year later. This early affinity for the piano developed into a true talent. At age 14, Krista placed in the top ten in the nationwide Liberace Musical Competition, she placed second in the Jefferson City, Missouri State-Wide piano concerto competition, performed competitively in gymnastics exhibitions and studied dancing, singing and clarinet, earning a trophy case of over 75 awards. By the age of 15, she played her first professional role, as the daughter of famed comedy team Stiller and Meara, in an industrial film for the telephone industry.

In high school and at the University of Missouri, Krista modeled, appeared in several commercials and won the 1981 Miss T.E.E.N. title. Active in summer stock and repertory theater productions, Krista was spotted at a comedy writer's workshop by a writer-producer who invited her to Los Angeles. While visiting California in 1983, she decided to move there permanently; however, a few months after arriving, she was cast on CBS's "Guiding Light" which meant relocating once again, this time to New York City. While starring on "Guiding Light," Krista made her stage debut as a street performer in the off-Broadway musical, "Buskers." In addition, her musical and dancing abilities, which were exhibited on the daytime drama, were displayed on "Circus of the Stars" and a CBS New Year's Eve Special."

After leaving "Guiding light," Krista headed back to California and quickly landed a variety of roles. She held recurring roles on the series, "My Two Dads," "Elvis" and "Silk Stalkings," and made numerous guest-appearances on such programs as "Who's the Boss?," "Quantum Leap," "Dragnet" and guest-starred on a Perry Mason Movie of the Week. She also returned to daytime television as Andi Klein on "Santa Barbara." Krista assumed the role of the tantalizing Tina Roberts on the show "One Life to Live" in the summer of 1994 and played that role for three years. She created the character of Mindy Lewis on "Guiding Light," a role she played to great acclaim for six years. In 1987, she received the Daytime Emmy nomination as Outstanding Ingénue in Drama Series for her portrayal of Mindy, and also garnered a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series, in 1988.

After returning to Los Angeles, Krista starred in several independent films including the movie "Ringmaster," based on the life of the ever-controversial talk show host, Jerry Springer. Krista plays a high-profile entertainment reporter who pokes into Springer's life with questions America is dying to know. Krista's gifts of effervescent conversation and her disarming cache' made her a natural choice for the role. She also has hosted TV reality-based shows and numerous infomercials. She presently is the national spokesperson for Radiant Health Products. Her other film credits include "Breaking the Rules" and "Laws of Deception."

Krista is currently single and resides in Century City with her dog, Batman, and her cat, Tiffany. In her spare time, she loves entertaining friends in her luscious backyard. She also enjoys hosting recitals in which she plays the piano. With all this, and more, even Ben Stiller quotes "There's Something About Krista!"
