Q: What was your favorite storyline this past year?

A: "It was so nice to come back to GUIDING LIGHT after a six-month leave of absence. My first storyline upon my return is proving to be a heavy one, concerning a taboo subject for daytime: cancer. In the story, Johnny develops cancer and my character is tirn between his deep feelings for Roxie, his commitment to the medical profession, and his love for his cousin. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Q: What was your most memorable fan encounter?

A: "I was standing at a podium [at a fan event] and this woman, who was 300-400 pounds, came charging at me on the stage. 'I wanna piece of your love, Rick,' she said. I flew over that podium and -- thank God -- landed on top of her and bounced off. Then I was at McDonald's drive-thru and the woman who worked there went, 'Oh, my God, Rick!' She tried to reach me through the little window and got stuck. They couldn't get her out. I drove away, and from my rearview mirror, I could see her with her little McDonald's hat falling off. She scared the s--- out of me."
