10/12/00 THE
ONE WITH MONICA'S THUNDER
IN THE SEASON
PREMIERE, MONICA FLITS FROM GLAD TO MAD TO SAD -- In the season premiere,
minutes after Chandler proposes to her, an ecstatic Monica plans to celebrate
on the town with her friends, but her mood darkens when she catches Ross and
Rachel kissing, and she angrily accuses Rachel is trying to upstage her on her
special night. Meanwhile, Ross and Rachel try to set the ground rules for their
temporary fling while Joey frets about trying to look 19 for a commercial
audition and Phoebe only cares about being the music act at Monica and
Chandler's wedding.
10/12/00 THE
ONE WITH RACHEL'S BOOK
WILL MONICA'S
FUTURE WEDDING BE A DO-IT-YOURSELF AFFAIR? -- Monica's dream of an expensive
fairytale wedding fizzles when she learns what her parents (guest stars Elliott
Gould and Christina Pickles) have done with her set-aside wedding fund.
Meanwhile Rachel fumes when a teasing Joey stumbles onto her juicy, late-night
reading material, and Ross arrives home and confronts Phoebe and her male
client over her thriving little massage practice -- secretly conducted smack
dab in the middle of his apartment.
10/19/00 THE
ONE WITH PHOEBE'S COOKIES
CHANDLER'S
FATAL FLAW WITH FUTURE FATHER-IN-LAW; ELLIOTT GOULD GUEST-STARS -- A desperate
Chandler seeks to bond with Monica's dad (guest star Elliott Gould) by playing
racquetball with him but the sporting effort backfires when the future
son-in-law accidentally gets too up-close-and-personal. Elsewhere, Rachel tries
to teach landlubber Joey how to sail without falling overboard while Monica
seeks to replicate the secret recipe of Phoebe's late grandmother by deconstructing
her last remaining cookie.
10/26/00 THE
ONE WITH RACHEL'S ASSISTANT
WILL RACHEL'S
BOY-TOY JOY BE FOILED? -- When Rachel is promoted, she gleefully considers
hiring a young, inexperienced hunk (guest star Eddie Cahill) as her executive
assistant over a more qualified -- but matronly -- candidate, while Joey
regrets his brief moment as a spoiled temperamental star just as his wretched
cop-and-robot series premieres. Back at home, Ross, Chandler and Monica
self-destruct when they engage in a tell-all free-for-all, exposing humiliating
secrets from each other's dark pasts that they were sworn to keep mum.
11/2/00 THE
ONE WITH THE ENGAGEMENT PICTURE
RACHEL'S CRUSH
ON HANDSOME ASSISTANT LEADS TO CRASH-AND-BURN -- Rachel's crush on her hunky
new assistant Tag (guest star Eddie Cahill) gets out of hand when she arranges
for Tag to hang out with Joey rather than with the office hotties who swarm him
-- but her scheme wilts when he begins to sound like Joey and employs many of
his new friend's dumbed-down flirting techniques. Elsewhere, Phoebe and Ross
trade competitive barbs when they begin dating feuding ex-spouses (guest stars
Julia Campbell and David Sutcliffe) while Monica cannot seem to get one good
photo of herself with Chandler who is photogenically challenged.
11/9/00 THE
ONE WITH THE NAP PARTNERS
MONICA WORRIES
THAT CHANDLER WILL DUMP HER IF SHE GOES FROM PHAT TO FAT -- Monica frets when
she meets a long-lost "camp girlfriend" from Chandler's teen years
and learns that he broke up with her because she was f-a-t, so she orders him
to apologize to the woman face-to-face -- which only gives him another chance
to put his foot in his mouth. Elsewhere, an eager Phoebe and Rachel vie for the
honor of becoming Monica's bridesmaid, but they make the mistake of appointing
Ross and Joey as the decisive judges. In the meantime, Ross and Joey fall
asleep while watching a macho movie and wake up in unintended positions.
11/16/00 THE
ONE WITH ROSS'S LIBRARY BOOK
KRISTIN DAVIS
GUEST-STARS; JANICE RETURNS -- After an intimate date with a bright, likable
woman (Kristin Davis, "Sex and the City"), Joey intends to move on
and forget her, but she bonds so well with Rachel and Phoebe that they actively
campaign to convince Joey to continue dating her. Meanwhile, a horrified Monica
stumbles upon Janice (guest star Maggie Wheeler), Chandler's annoying
ex-girlfriend, but somehow allows her to invite herself to their wedding.
Elsewhere, Ross is delighted to learn that his dissertation is available in the
university's library -- until he learns that it's held in a dusty corner of the
stacks where romantic liaisons are popular.
11/23/00 THE
ONE WHERE CHANDLER DOESN'T LIKE DOGS
WILL RACHEL
PLAY TAG -- OR JUST HIDE-AND-SEEK -- AT THANKSGIVING DINNER? -- A beaming
Rachel is happily surprised when her hunky young assistant Tag shows up for
Thanksgiving dinner with the gang at Monica's but when she is warned to play it
cool with him, blabbing Joey blows her cover with one ill-timed, impulsive
blurt. At the same time, Phoebe sneaks a puppy into her apartment, forcing an
allergic Chandler to confess why he hates dogs while a stubborn Ross refuses to
concede defeat -- even if it means missing dinner -- when he cannot name all 50
states.
12/7/00 THE
ONE WITH ALL THE CANDY
WILL RACHEL PAY
FOR PROMOTING HER ASSISTANT TO BE HER NEW BOYFRIEND? -- Rachel and her new
younger boyfriend Tag set the ground rules for their new romance -- especially
dicey since she's the boss and he's her assistant -- but their biggest snag is
facing the embarrassment of having her pay for everything they do. Back at the
apartment building, Monica is in a festive holiday mood as she whips up some
special candy for her anonymous neighbors but the stuff is so good, the mob
nearly breaks down her door demanding more. Meanwhile, Ross is moved by
Phoebe's bike-less childhood story, so he buys her a new two-wheeler -- and
discovers he must also teach the klutz to ride as well.
12/14/00 THE
ONE WITH THE HOLIDAY ARMADILLO
DREIDELS ARE NO
MATCH FOR SANTA WHEN ROSS TRIES TO INTRODUCE HIS YOUNG SON TO CHANUKAH -- Ross
is thrilled to have his young son Ben for the holidays and wants to introduce
the tyke to Chanukah -- but the festival of lights pales when a wide-eyed Ben
clamors for only Christmas carols, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and
especially, Santa Claus. Down the hall, Phoebe eagerly anticipates moving back
into her newly refurbished apartment again with Rachel but feels she must first
drive a wedge between Rachel and her current roomie, Joey. Meanwhile, a clumsy
Chandler cannot seem to master the fine art of greasing the palms of maitre-d's
with folding money in order to secure better service.
1/04/01 THE
ONE WITH ALL THE CHEESECAKES
WILL PHOEBE
DUMP JOEY FOR DATE WITH EX-BEAU -- Phoebe and Joey feud over what constitutes a
proper excuse to flake out on their weekly dinner plans -- and it's driving her
batty, especially since her old flame David (guest star Hank Azaria, "The
Simpsons") has returned from Russia for a romantic one-night date.
Elsewhere, a gluttonous Rachel and Chandler disgrace themselves when they
repeatedly swipe deliveries of an exquisitely tasty cheesecake from their
neighbor's doorstep while Ross reluctantly takes a seething Monica along to
their cousin's wedding just so she can berate the bride for not inviting her as
well.
1/11/01 THE
ONE WHERE THEY'RE UP ALL NIGHT
LONG DAY'S
JOURNEY INTO NIGHT MEANS NO SWEET DREAMS -- It could be a long sleepless night
for everyone as Rachel finagles to spend her first night with Tag -- until it
dawns on her that they did not overnight an important package before they left
work -- while a clueless Ross and Joey risk their lives when they are stuck on
their building's chilly roof. Elsewhere, Phoebe can't rid herself of a
relentlessly beeping smoke alarm, and Chandler and Monica annoy each other just
enough to remain wide awake.
2/1/01 THE ONE
WHERE ROSITA DIES
GUEST STAR
JASON ALEXANDER ('SEINFELD') RETURNS TO THURSDAY NIGHT IN 'SUPER-SIZE'
'FRIENDS' -- Phoebe's first day as a telemarketer takes a bizarre turn when she
encounters a distraught office supply manager (Tony Award-winning guest star
Jason Alexander) who's determined to end it all -- but nobody hangs up on
Phoebe when she's determined to make the biggest 'sale' of her life. Meanwhile,
Ross and Monica are super-bummed when their parents decide to sell their
childhood home, especially after their father discovers that Monica's boxed-up
memories from her youth are ruined from water damage. In addition, Rachel and
Chandler feel guilty when each believes they have broken Joey's favorite ratty
old chair, which he has affectionately dubbed "Rosita."
2/8/01 THE ONE
WHERE THEY ALL TURN THIRTY
RACHEL AND
'FRIENDS' TURN 30 IN SUPER-SIZE EPISODE -- Rachel agonizes when the gang
celebrates her 30th birthday and while they all reflect on their own goofy
experiences on their previous 30th birthday parties -- including Monica's comic
attempts to conceal her intoxication from her parents -- Rachel ponders how to
meet her remaining life goals. Meanwhile, Phoebe remembers when she discovered
sobering news from her sister Ursula on her 30th and Ross also recalls his
embarrassing fling with a red sports car when he hit the magic number.
2/15/01 THE
ONE WITH JOEY'S NEW BRAIN
OSCAR WINNER
SUSAN SARANDON GUEST-STARS AS DIVINE DIVA IN 'SUPER-SIZE' EPISODE -- In a
'Super-size' episode, Joey accidentally informs fellow "Days of Our
Lives" castmate (Oscar-winning guest star Susan Sarandon, "Dead Man
Walking") that she will be fired so that her character's brain can be
implanted into his own -- and though the diva unloads on him, the odd couple
quickly end up in each other's arms. Elsewhere, Rachel and Phoebe try to
sabotage each other's chances to meet a cute guy who inadvertently left his
cell phone behind while Chandler and Monica desperately urge Ross not to play
his screeching Scottish bagpipes at their wedding..
2/22/01 THE
ONE WITH THE TRUTH ABOUT LONDON
MONICA DROPS
BOMB ON CHANDLER AFTER REVELATION ABOUT LONDON TRIP IN SUPER-SIZE EPISODE --
Monica and Chandler grudgingly agree to let Joey perform their wedding ceremony
-- once he's been "ordained" via the Internet -- and as the couple
fondly recall how their relationship changed during their London trip years ago,
Monica shares a startling revelation that leaves Chandler's head spinning.
Elsewhere, Rachel becomes Ben's (guest star Cole Mitchell Sprouse) favorite
babysitter when she teaches him practical jokes to play on his dad Ross. In
addition, Phoebe panics when she notices the possible side effects of a
headache medication she just swallowed.
3/15/01 THE
ONE WITH THE CHEAP WEDDING DRESS
LADY BEWARE!
DON'T DARE TO GET IN BETWEEN MONICA AND HER FAVORITE WEDDING DRESS -- Monica
regrets telling a fellow bride-to-be (guest star Andrea Bendewald,
"Suddenly Susan") about a cheaper bridal store when she later has to
fight the woman tooth-and-nail for a unique wedding dress -- and later duels
her for the right to hire Chandler's favorite band for the event. Down the
hall, Ross also competes with Joey for the affections of the same lissome lass
(guest star Gabrielle Union, "City of Angels").
3/29/01 THE
ONE WITH JOEY΄S AWARD
JOEY IS
LATHERED UP ABOUT HIS 'SOAPIE' AWARD NOMINATION -- Joey is overjoyed to be
nominated for a "Soapie" -- the third most prestigious award in
daytime dramas -- but when the results don't go his way, he's not above
stealing one for himself, while the engaged Monica frets when she realizes she
will never experience the thrill of a new relationship again. Elsewhere, Ross
is more than curious when he spies Chandler sneaking out of a male strip club
while Phoebe finds a cute guy (guest star Troy Norton). Alison Sweeney of NBC's
"Days of Our Lives" and McKenzie Westmore of NBC's
"Passions" guest-star.
4/19/01 THE
ONE WITH ROSS AND MONICA'S COUSIN
DENISE RICHARDS
GUEST-STARS AS ROSS AND MONICA'S KISSIN' COUSIN -- When the alluring cousin
(Denise Richards, "The World Is Not Enough") of Monica and Ross
arrives for a visit after a long absence since their childhood, her
irresistible beauty causes serious distractions for all the men who meet her --
including an uneasy Ross. Elsewhere, Rachel and Phoebe are hopelessly
overmatched when they try to rush their plans for Monica's shower as is Joey
when he foolishly tries to trick a casting director to secure an acting role.
4/26/01 THE
ONE WITH RACHEL'S BIG KISS
TWO-TIME OSCAR
NOMINEE WINONA RYDER GUEST-STARS -- An embarrassed Rachel bumps into her old
sorority sister (Oscar nominee and guest star Winona Ryder, "Little
Women,") and wonders whether she should confront her old chum about a
boozy incident from their college days when their friendship unexpectedly took
a dramatic and passionate turn. In addition, Chandler and Ross try to out-suit
each other by renting tuxedos once used by celebrities for the upcoming
Chandler-Monica wedding. Meanwhile, Monica struggles to shuffle her wedding
reception seating to accommodate two more guests when dim-witted Joey casually
invites his parents to drop by.
5/3/01 THE ONE
WITH THE VOWS
I DO - BUT CAN
I TELL YOU WHY? -- With only four weeks to go before their wedding, Monica is
upset to find that Chandler has not yet written his vows -- but then admits she
hasn't written hers, either. They both set out to put their feelings on paper,
but find that even after seeking help from Rachel, Phoebe, Joey and Ross, the
task still proves a lot more difficult than they had imagined. To make matters
worse, looking back over Chandler and Monica's relationship leads to all six of
the friends recalling the high -- and low -- lights of their friendships with
each other, and worrying that things might be about to change for all of them.

ONE WITH CHANDLER'S DAD
MONICA'S TO-DO
LIST STARTS WITH FATHER-SON RECONCILIATION; KATHLEEN TURNER GUEST-STARS --
While reviewing her wedding-guest list, Monica learns that an embarrassed
Chandler hasn't invited his estranged dad (guest star Kathleen Turner) -- so
she arranges a face-to-face meeting between the two in hopes that father and
son can patch up their differences before the ceremony. Elsewhere, wretched
driver Rachel swipes the keys to Monica's Porsche and speeds off with a reluctant
Ross aboard while the police are in hot pursuit. Joey wants to prove to Phoebe
that he is so secure in his masculinity that he can wriggle into women's
panties and learn to love it..

for him, Rachel and Phoebe desperately vamp to distract the unsuspecting bride.
Elsewhere, Joey can't pry himself away from shooting a World War I film with a
spit-and-polish actor (guest star Gary Oldman, "Air Force One") in
time to perform the ceremony.
