After Zach left the the Rangers for Switzerland, Adam was selected to take his place. At first, Adam was a timid part of the team, and quite driven by his emotions. He proved this by mistakenly asking the evil Scorpina out for the school dance. Soon after, he and the others, embarked on a journey to find the legendary Ninjor, creator of the Power Coins. With Ninjor's help, Adam was able to awaken his inner Ninja Animal Spirit, the frog, and Morph into the Black Ninja Ranger. Later, he went on a journey to retrieve the Rectangle Zeo Sub Crystal from ancient Korea, where he met a wiseman standing under a waterfall. Using the crystal's power, Adam then evolved into the Green Zeo Ranger. Then Divatox, an intergalactic pirate arrived and the Rangers needed more power to defeat her. Zordon and Alpha 5, created the Turbo Powers, and gave Adam the powers of the Green Desert Thunder Ranger. After graduating from Angel Grove High, Adam became a soccor coach. He also made plans to become a radio announcer. This lead to his departure. A year after he left the team, Adam returned to assist his replacement, Carlos, in battle against Astronema.

Johnny Yong Bosch (born Johnny Jay Bosch) is the actor behind Adam. In an interview on Entertainment Tonight, the cast and crew voted Johnny to be the "practical joker" on the set. He was born on January 6th, 1976 in Kansas, and a graduate of Garland High. Currently he lives near Los Angeles, California. He has three siblings - Cindy, Michael, and Diana, who all live in Texas. Johnny has three pets, two dogs named Kato, and Max, and a cat named Jackie (named after Jackie Chan, accidentaly taking it for a male). He also had a cat named Whispers, but it ran away. In his spare time, he enjoys working out, writing, playing soccor, reading the Bible, sky diving, bunjee jumping, scuba diving, and making low profit, "cheesy" kung fu films. Much of Johnny's martial arts "teaching" was from watching Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan movies. After entering in seven different martial competitions, Johnny recieved trophies in every one. He remembers when he was younger he used to be picked on by bullies, which lead to his becomming of one. But after meeting with his kung fu instructor, James Clark, he took a turn for the better. James was also the one who told Johnny about the Power Ranger auditions being held in Dallas. His martial arts experience also saved him after his stuntman broke his leg during rehersal, and Johnny was forced to take his place in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie. While acting on Power Rangers, Johnny made close friendly relationships with Jason Frank (Tommy), Jason Narvy (Skull) and Nakia Berrise (Tanya). He and a few of the others would go to Jason Frank's appartment and practice on a big patch of grass in front. Before he was hired by Saban Entertainment, the former production crew of Power Rangers, Johnny was forced to change his middle name from Jay to Yong, for reasons unknown. Johnny's goals in life are to keep working on films, give to the poor, the church, and making people smile.
