Greg Proops: A Speccy Comedian

Greg Proops is an unbelievably funny comedian. He's been a total hit on Whose Line for his sarcastic and often sharp wit. He is also very attractive in my personal opinion. Here are two biographies on him, the first one is his own from his own website and the second one is from the website Groovefunkistan- I was born on October 3rd 1959 in Phoenix Arizona. My family moved to Lancaster CA in 1962 or so. We moved to the San Fransisco Bay area in 1966 and I was raised mostly small and white in San Carlos California, a small, white suburb. I went to San Mateo Junior College and San Francisco University where I studied acting, did improv and smoked dope. Performed stand up with my partner Forrest in the team of Proops and Brakeman. Joined an improv group called Faultline which also featured Mike McShane (we are still buddies), I first went to the UK in 1989 to do Whose Line? Did my first Edinburgh Festival in 1993 and loved it. Have been back five years running. Have toured the UK 4 times. I am married to a woman, Jennifer, who I don't deserve. We have been married nine years. No kids. Currently I am doing stand up and trying to get on tv in LA and London. My acting is sketchy at best. I adore the man known to earthlings as Colin Mochrie. Gregory Proops is an American comedian, improviser and actor, who has been a regular cast member on Channel 4's popular long-running improvised comedy show Whose Line is it Anyway? almost since it's inception. An established stand-up comic both in the UK and the States, Greg's sold-out one-man show was nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award at the 1993 Edinburgh Festival. He followed this up with further sell-out seasons at Edinburgh in 1994 through to 1997, and indeed in 1996 he not only performed his stand-up show but also hosted his own chat show. On his trips to London, he is frequently invited to guest with the Comedy Store players. He has also performed at the Kilkenny Comedy Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Greg was born on October 3, 1959 in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1962, his family moved to Lancaster, California, and in 1966, to San Carlos. He studied acting in San Francisco State, and formed the partnership of Proops and Brakeman, a stand up duo with his good friend in 1982. He then joined an improv group (Faultline) with future "Whose Line is it Anyway?" contestant, Mike McShane. Greg has been married to an artist named Jennifer for 12 years now and claims he is unworthy of having her. They don't have any children. Greg has appeared on, and even hosted, several TV shows. He has also been in such movies as "Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace," and "The Nightmare Before Christmas." Greg has made notable guest appearances on shows like "3rd Rock from the Sun," "Talk Soup," and "Win Ben Stein's Money." What does he want to do entertainment-wise in the future? "I'd like to play a bad guy in a cool movie." Here is also a list of everything he's appeared in...wow, that alot of shows... Theater BA Degree in Acting, San Francisco State 1982. Why do I like him? I do not really know, but his humor seems to appeal to many people. As he once said, "Comedy breaks the age barrier." which is oh-so true. His fans are known as ocelots because he thinks of them as darling little creatures and has made quite a few jokes about them. Also right now he is appearing in a dating show called "Rendez-View" where he and Ellen Ladowsky (sp?) (and two celebrity guests) witness the date and then discuss it. Ellen talks about the serious parts of relationships while Greg acts as the class clown, making funny remarks about what the daters say and do. I'm not sure if it popular or not. But this has not been Greg's first.
