Burger King Toys
Burger King's X-Men: Evolution promotion began over the weekend, earlier than had been advertised.
Although press releases had indicated Monday as the first day of the promotion and Marvel's web site has a Jan. 2 launch date, many Burger King franchises had the X-Men: Evolution figures/CD-ROMs available with Big Kids Meals as early as Friday.
First characters available over the weekend included Quicksilver and Wolverine. Each figure has a corresponding three-inch CD-ROM, which includes clips from the television series, games, downloads and Marvel Dot-Comics.
The Quicksilver Dot-Comic, "The Lesson," was written by Tom DeFalco, with art by Udon.
Below is a look at the CD-ROM's contents, including menu screens, the Dot-Comic and a game.
In addition, Burger King is giving away four-page activity booklets featuring X-Men: Evolution characters.
In other X-Men: Evolution news, Kids' WB! is putting the next two weeks of weekday episodes under a "Genesis" umbrella. The episodes will deal with first appearances or origins of the X-Men characters.
Episodes this week include "On Angel's Wings" on Monday, "Speed and Spyke" on Tuesday, "The X-Impulse" on Wednesday, "The Cauldron - Pt. 1" on Thursday, and "The Cauldron - Pt. 2" on Friday.
