The Ghost pt 2
"Wait, who are you?" Alexia asked
" I am a messenger, and I have a message for you from someone who
can
offer you sanctuary. My name is Raven, but you may call me Mystique."
" Okaaaaay then"
"I want to talk to you, Ms. Pappenheim, about something. You are
different from other people. You know that, don't you?"
"Well, duh"
"Good" Mystique said, ignoring the rude comment. " There are others
like
you, Ms. Pappenheim, others with gifts, and, like you, they are
ridiculed,
feared, and hated.
"So where are these other people?" Alexia inquired.
"Here's a handful of them right now" she said, pointing to the
doorway.
Alexia looked up at the door. A short boy who looked about 15 came
bounding in through the doorway and sat on the couch next to Mystique.
He
saw a large housefly and snatched it up with his tongue.
"YUCK!!" Lexy screeched.
" What? It tastes like broccoli." He said to her.
" Oh Man! Even worse!!" Alexia said with a disgusted expression.
She heard a sound behind her and was extremely startled to see another
boy,
about 15 or 16, with white hair.
"Realniceplaceyagothere" he said to her at what sounded like the
speed of
light.
" Come a what??" Alexia asked, enormously perplexed.
"Ohnevermind." He said.
Almost immediately after a low rumble shook the floor. Alexia dove
under
a doorway to take cover from what she thought was an earthquake.
"Relax, Lexy may I call you that? Anyway it's just another
gifted
teenager." Mystique coolly stated.
A tall, good-looking guy of about 18 came slowly around the corner.
Much
to Lexy's relief, he simply said "Hi"
A sudden awkward silence settled upon the room.
Mystique's voice finally broke the silence.
"Well fine then, boys, don't introduce yourselves." She said
sarcastically.
" Oh sorry, I'm Lance, or Avalanche."
"Pietro Maximoff, pleasure to meet ya."
"Todd."
" Hello," Alexia said.
" So, Lexy, I've been told you have untold power. Would you mind
showing
me?" Mystique asked sweetly.
" I guess I could." She replied uncertainly.
At that very moment, a deafening thunderclap rattled the house,
followed by
the electricity shutting down completely.
"Was that you?"
" Me? Heck no! Follow me, I'll show you one of the things I can
do."
Alexia stood up and went into the kitchen, promptly grabbing and
lighting a
candle. She then grabbed 4 pairs of sunglasses and opened a door that
led
into a large crawlspace, and then motioned for the others to follow.
"This is where the generator for our house is. If you don't want to be
temporarily blinded, I suggest that you put these on and KEEP them on."
Alexia said, handing them the sunglasses, "Okay then, here we go"
Alexia took a deep breath. Through the glasses Mystique could see the
sparks
in Alexia's eyes begin to gather and glow until her eyes looked as if
they
were on fire.
BAM!!
A blinding bolt of electricity shot out from her eyes, dancing
around on
the surface of the generator. The lights in the house flickered back
on.
After she saw them come back to life, Alexia shut her eyes.
"Impressive, very impressive, Ms. Pappenheim." Mystique said.
