Mindbender

"Mindbender," a new episode of X-Men: Evolution, will air on Kids' WB! on Saturday.

The episode is written by Bob Forward from a story by Greg Johnson. It is directed by Steve Gordon.

"I just screened it, and wow!" Johnson told The Continuum. "I have to say it's one of the cooler episodes we've done so far. Steve's direction is incredibly effective for the moody tone of this particular story, and the animation is superb. There are scenes where you can see drops of rain actually hitting puddles and dripping down faces."

The episode was animated by Mook Animation.

"They do the best animation for us," said Marvel Studios' Craig Kyle.

The story's plot remains secret because of its nature, but Kyle did reveal one element.

"This is an episode where the team members are split and have to fight each other," Kyle told The Continuum. "Why? You'll have to watch and see."

The episode also features a major point in the overall arc of the series. "Just know that there is a memorable surprise in store for the fans," Johnson said.

The Feb. 2 episode, "Shadow Dance," was written by X-Men: Evolution producer Boyd Kirkland. The episode features the return of Forge.
