Nothin' but Beast

Hank McCoy, also known as "Beast" was part of the X-men. He had needed help and didn't know where to go, but now he had a place where he was shown respect. He missed being a teacher more than anything. His dream had been ruined by his mutant "gifts." He hated when the Professor called them gifts. Nobody would say that looking like a blue ape was a "gift." But the Professor was a nice guy. If it weren't for him, Hank would be roaming the streets trying to kill people. Yeah, and there was another thing with Hank's "gift." Sometimes when he gets really angry he goes crazy and tries to kill everything. But he was calmed down back to normal now and he hoped that he could start teaching again. Professor Xavier could make him a image-inducer and Hank would look like anybody. Except looking like the old Hank McCoy would be dangerous. When Hank went crazy, he attacked a lot of people, so now the real Hank McCoy was a fugitive. But now Hank was helping students at the Xavier Institute. It was very different from his old job, but it was very interesting.

Now Hank was on his way to an underground high security prison, that they held the most dangerous of criminals. The prison was 1000 feet underground and only very high personnel were allowed even 50 feet under. Xavier had sent Hank to the prison to program the security computers 500 feet under. Hank was a computer genius, he could program or hack any computer you put infront of him. Hank was going alone and he was glad. The mansion sometimes got too loud. Hank would enjoy his nice quiet visit to the prison. Luckily he didn't have to worry about any criminals breaking loose because he was only going to the -40th floor and the criminals were on the -70th floor. His visit would be long and relaxing. And he would be wearing a image-inducer so nobody could see his hideous face. The prison was in the northern part of Alaska, but Hank didn't mind the cold. Hank boarded the plane at the Bayville Airport and sat in a seat right next to a strange man with a long white jacket and think reading glasses. He settled in and within minutes the plane took off, heading north.

"So... do you live in Alaska or are you just visiting?" Hank asked the strange man.

"I live in Alaska." The man replied.

"Hi, I'm Hank--. I mean I'm John Dutch." Hank explained as he remembered his fugitive name.

"And I am Luke Schweitzoff. Dr. Luke Schweitoff." The strange man replied .

"So... what do you do in Alaska?" asked Hank.

"I'm actually not supposed to say. What about you?"

"I... um... I'm not supposed to say either."

"Okay then."

After that Hank looked out the window and began to get tired. Soon he was fast asleep. He began to have very strange dreams.

He woke up and looked around. He was on a giant table covered with blood. He looked up and saw the weird man he was sitting by on the plane. The man held a giant butcher knife in his hand and swung it down at Hank. It came closer and closer until it...

"John, John!" Hank woke up and saw Luke shaking him and saying his name.

"What, Luke?" asked Hank.

"The plane has landed, we are in Alaska."

Hank got off the plane and walked into the airport. He said goodbye to Luke and left the airport to get a taxi. The taxi pulled up and Hank hopped in and told him to go to the prison. When they arrived he got out and walked up to the gate. He said where he was from and they let him in. He entered the lobby and walked up to the elevator and pressed the down key. The elevator arrived and he traveled down to the -40th floor. In the elevator stood a scientist and a security guard. They were on their way down to the programming center just as Hank was. They were all standing there quietly and all of the sudden the lights went out. The elevator screeched a couple of times.

"That's not good." The scientist exclaimed. "I just hope we don't..."

Suddenly the elevator jerked sideways and hit the side of the tunnel. It threw the scientist to the floor, knocking him out. The security guard drew his sidearm and was ready to defend himself. The elevator jerked back and hit the other side of the tunnel.

"What the hell is going on?" yelled the security guard as he grabbed the handle on the side of the elevator.

Hank clutched the handles too. He was unsure what to do. He suspected no danger to be involved in this mission.

"At least we haven't fallen." The security guard reassured that the elevator was safe, but Hank didn't believe him. It was just his job. He had to make sure all personnel felt safe.

Then the elevator snapped loose from the cord it was attached to and fell farther and farther down the endless tunnel...!
