With the second-season finale next month, work is well underway on the third season of Kids' WB!'s X-Men: Evolution.
The second season ends on May 11 with the two-part "Day of Reckoning," a cliffhanger.
"'Day of Reckoning' sets a few things into motion that continue into the third season," X-Men: Evolution story editor Greg Johnson told The Continuum. "At this point, seven scripts are final, and I'm writing the eighth one myself. That leaves just five more, all of which have been assigned."
What can viewers expect?
"Months ago we promised to hint at our third-season villain in the episode 'Mindbender,' and those who watched it know that it turned out to be Apocalypse," Johnson said. "He's entombed, and requires two more keys to be located before he can be released. Those other keys will be found in the course of Season Three, since the X-Men's confrontation with Apocalypse is not something we want to rush into, but rather build towards.
"Until that happens, though, there will be lots of surprises in store."
In other X-Men: Evolution news, Professor Xavier will be the next in the series of X-Men: Evolution Maquettes from Hard Hero.
