I watched as my wife inhales and exhales. After 9 and a half months we're finally having our baby. This time we're having a baby girl. As I think of all the pain that she's going to be going through in a couple of minutes I don't think I could love her anymore. All my life I wanted to find that special person, my soul mate who'd marry me, and be the mother of my children. Sheridan is that woman. Everything I do, I do it for her and only her.
I breathe in and out, having a baby truly hurts. But she didn't care, she had Luis by her side, that was all that mattered. In a little while they'd be opening their hearts to another little person. This time a girl. I collapse, exhausted, against the mattress. She thought back to the day she found out she was pregnant. She was sitting on the couch, feeding Martin, when the phone began to rang, she got up to answer it. Her doctor's voice came from the other line. "Miss Crane your about 9 weeks pregnant." If she wasn't holding Martin she would've fainted.
I hear the doctor's voice call. "Ok Mrs. Lopez-Fitzgerald you can start pushing on 3" Oh my gosh this is it. " 1,2,3" Sheridan squeezes my left hand as she pushes. She collapses against my shoulder. I wipe the sweat that's glistening on her forehead. "Luis, I can't do this" she complains. "Sweetheart yes you can. You did it before and you can do it again" I encourage. "Come on baby, on 3 ok" I whisper in her ear. She nods. The doctor screams, "1,2,3 push!!!" I watch as my wife pushes, I start to feel bad as I watch all the again she is going through.
Tears slip down my cheeks as I hear my daughters cries. I watch as the nurse places my child in my husbands arms. "Oh Sher she's beautiful" He says as he leans down to kiss my lips. He places our beautiful daughter in my arms. "Sheridan you did great. I love you so much baby" He whispers in my ear, his lips lingering to my temple, he places a kiss there. "No we did great! I love you too" I give him a sweet kiss. "I'll be right back ok" He says. "Ok" I say softly as I watch him walk out of the room. "You have such a wonderful daddy. Do you know that? Well if you didn't you'll soon find out" I whisper to my daughter.
Minutes later I walk back into the room carrying my son. I hear my wife call to him. "Aww there's mommy's baby" Martin giggles, I place him on the bed beside his mother. I take my daughter from Sheridan's arms. My son crawls into my wife's arms, and she cuddles him close to her. "Martin do you know who this is?" I ask as I sit beside the love of my life. The child shakes his head no. "This is your baby sister. Isn't she pretty?" I listen as he answers, "Yes but she so small." My wife replies to his answer. "Sweetie she's small because she has just been born" Sheridan smiles and looks up at me.
I slide out of bed and walk to the nursery. Courtney has been home since 12 this afternoon. "What's the matter sweetie?" I ask as I pick her up. "Oh I know, your hungry. Don't worry sweetheart we'll fix that" I whisper sitting in the rocking chair, I unbutton Luis' shirt that I wear. My daughter clings to my nipple. She looks up at me, those baby blue eyes shining brightly and that angelic, innocent smile plastered on her face. "Mommy loves you so much" I say as I rub her cheek with my thumb. After she eats I sit her up and begin to burp her. Minutes later she makes a big burp, the little angel is like her father, a little piggy. I laugh at my thought. I lay my child in her crib, kissing her head and whispering "goodnight and I love you" in the process.
I walk out of the nursery and back in the room I share with my sexy husband. He is nowhere to be found. I walk out of our room and down the hallway, there he is standing in the middle of the living room, listening to soft music. I walk up to him and he gathers be in his strong arms. "I saw you with Courtney before. Your such a great mother." He tells me. My eyes begin to tear up, how did I find such a sweet guy like Luis. Oh yeah I crashed into his cruiser, I think laughing. "I love you so much. Your so sweet" I say.
I wipe the tears that fell from her eyes and I place a sweet kiss, full of love, on her lips. "I love you too, beautiful" I whisper flashing my soul mate one of my million dollar smiles. Sheridan and I begin to dance. I truly know in my heart that everything I do, I do it for her. And I believe that Sheridan feels the same way. I kiss her beautiful, pink, soft lips. The song ends, but then Sheridan's favorite song begins to play so we start do dance to it.
