STORYLINE/DISCLAIMER: This story takes place in Sheridan's and Luis's past life, I hope you enjoy it. Please note that I am not associated with NBC or PASSIONS. I got this fanfic idea from both the movie A Knight's Tale and the book called The Prince and The Pauper. However, it will not be exactly like it. This story takes place in the Middle Ages aka Medieval Times. Enjoy! :)

Prologue:

Sheridan and Luis were looking at their joined family tree which they received from an unknown family member as a wedding gift. They were puzzled, and shocked at the same time with what lay before them. They wondered if it were a sign of there own future, or a look into what could be. According to the family tree it said that two of Sheridan and Luis's ancestors were past lovers. Unknown to them, they were the ones in question. In one of the past lives their story was as tragic and romantic as their lives were today. According to the family tree Sheridan's ancestor was known as Savannah -Princess of Westmore. And Luis's ancestor was Lucas,an unknown knight from the town of Gering. But both of them were brought together by some events that should be foretold to them.

If they knew what happened to there ancestors, then they possibly could change there future and finally fulfill a happy ending for themselves, as well as put there ancestors soles to rest. So they set off to a fortune teller, (don't worry it wasn't Tabitha) who specialized in taking married couples into their past lives. And so the story begins...

Chapter 1:

Luis slowly drove along the rocky roads and was worried about the possible outcome from seeing the psychic. He looked over at Sheridan and saw the fear in her eyes and then said, “Sheridan, are you sure you want to go through with this?” Sheridan’s reply was, “Luis, what if our ancestors are trying to send us a sign about our lives together right now or quite possibly our future? It’s a risk we have to take.”

Luis nodded in agreement as he pulled into the psychic’s driveway. They found out about her through the Internet. As well, Sam and Ivy had also been to her. They (Sam and Ivy) married shortly after they realized their true love for one another. This happened with the help of the garden maze at the Crane estate after finding each other in the square of it. Sam was literally pushed into Ivy’s arms by his ex-wife Grace after finding out that he had a child with Ivy. As for Ivy, she always hid the fact that Ethan was a Bennett and not a Crane. Julian, Ivy’s ex-husband left her for the socialite Rebecca Hotchkiss, Ethan’s ex-fiancée’s mother.

Sheridan slowly got of the car. She feared that if the psychic told her and Luis bad news that he would leave her for somebody else. For the longest time, Sheridan feared something might happen to destroy their love. During their engagement party, she thought she saw Luis making love to another woman by the name of DeeDee. It turned out to be a trap laid out by her father, Julian and Rebecca. Luckily, Sheridan and Luis figured things out and acted along with it and then caught them at the unlikely moment. The Luis Imposter was arrested and put in jail by Sam. However, her father, Julian and Rebecca just got off with a warning.

Sheridan grabbed Luis’s hand in fear as they approached the house. It had begun to rain badly and it began to get dark. Above them they saw a sign saying “Helena, Past Life Psychic” They were about to knock on the door when the door mysteriously opened and Helena appeared saying “Hello, and welcome. Please, please, come on in”

Chapter 2:

Sheridan and Luis slowly entered the old house and followed Helena into the room where she did the readings. “I hope your friends told you that this will set you back $75” Helena said as she sat down on her chair and started to shuffle her tarot cards. “Yes they did” Sheridan replied as she took out her checkbook and wrote the check for $75 and handed it to Helena. “Thank you very much, please sit down Sheridan and Luis. I’ve been expecting you. Is there anything that you have that may help me get a better reading from my crystal ball and tarot cards?” questioned Helena.

“Well…” Luis began to say as he helped Sheridan sit down in her chair and then seated himself. He then handed Helena the mysterious family tree that they received as a wedding gift. “And this is?” Helena asked. “We received this as a wedding gift from a family member and we want to find out some information about it. (Like if we) Were we past lovers, and if we were…did we face any challenges, etc.” Sheridan and Luis spoke in a hushed voice because they feared that somebody other than Helena was watching and listening to them. Helena looked carefully at the family tree, and began to recite something that seemed really weird.

Chapter 3:

After the incantation:

Helena turned to Luis and Sheridan and said, “Are you ready for this?” “Yes, we are” they replied. “Now look into my crystal ball, and concentrate.” Helena said as she waved her hands over the crystal ball. Sheridan closed her eyes for a brief moment and took a deep breath. Luis became concerned and pulled Sheridan aside and whispered. "Sheridan, are you alright?" Sheridan gazed romantically into Luis's brown eyes and kissed him on the lips and said, "Of course"

Luis and Sheridan pulled their chairs back to where Helena was seated and concentrated. Slowly, an image appeared in the crystal ball. But it went away as quickly as it came. Sheridan and Luis became frustrated, and angered. They came to find out about their past lives from Helena but they never knew how hard the actual process would be. “Helena, why is this not working?” Luis questioned in his police voice. Helena glanced mysteriously at Luis and Sheridan and then said in a calm voice, “You must believe in the power of love to make this work.”

“We do believe in it. It was destiny that brought us together, and our honesty and love for each other that made us the happiest people in the world.” Sheridan said to Helena without giving it a second thought. Helena recited incantation again, and then waved her hands once more over the crystal ball. Finally, the images of Sheridan and Luis’s past life came to light. As well, they could find out what their ancestors were trying to tell them through their dreams they had each night.

Chapter 4:

Town of Westmore, 1525 AD

Savannah awoke to the birds chirping and the sun shining through her window. It was another restless night for her. She dreamt about the same man once again; she had been dreaming about the same man for months. He was the most handsome man she ever saw, but never ever knew his name or where she could find him. She tried to close her eyes once more but she couldn’t go back to sleep.

Katharina approached Savannah’s room for she didn’t want to awake the sleeping princess. But by the time she entered Savannah’s room; Savannah was already awake. Katharina noticed the bags under Savannah’s eyes almost right away. “Savannah, did you have another one of those dreams?” Katharina asked as she combed Savannah’s short delicate dirty blonde hair.

She began to cry, and then said in the best possible voice that she could, “Yes, I did Katharina. I need to know what it means before its too late.” Katharina turned Savannah towards her and wiped away the tears as best as she could and spoke gently to Savannah by saying, “Savannah, my dear… there’s nothing to worry about. I can help you solve this. I want to help you. You know I hate seeing you in so much pain. Don’t cry…”

Savannah got up from her chair and gave Katharina a hug. Katharina was more than her nurse to her; she was more like a confidant, a friend to her. Savannah thanked Katharina as Katharina helped her get ready for the day. Katharina decided to dress Savannah in a bluish green frock because it brought out her beautiful eyes.

Chapter 5:

Outside the town of Gering

“Oh man! I just saw the most beautiful maiden in my dreams again last night!” Lucas said to Sampson as he galloped his horse into town. Lucas was a knight in training in the town of Gering, and his best friend’s brother Sampson was more than willing to train him. Sampson was happily married to Isabella and they had a son named Evan Bennett. However, Lucas was still looking for love and hadn’t seemed to find the right woman that he could share it with either. Lucas knew Sampson through Henry, Sampson’s younger brother who always seemed to be getting into trouble wherever he went.

Angelique, Jasmine, Alexandria, Cassandra, and Kate all their eyes on Lucas from a very young age. He was the man, they all dreamed of marrying him someday. In the town of Gering, the rule was the women who fall in love with the eligible knight must give a gift to show their affection.

Angelique’s gift to Lucas was her angelic voice singing hymns from the Bible. She gave him this because she knew how much he loved attending church, and hearing the choir. Jasmine’s gift was a bouquet of variety of flowers from lilacs to jasmines (her namesake), and she gave Lucas this because he always commented on how sweet smelling she was. Alexandria gave Lucas one of her famous rhubarb pies that she was famous for, Lucas adored them a lot and she knew how much they meant to him.

Cassandra had given one of the two time consuming gifts that one could ever give. She gave Lucas a quilt that she made by hand, and which took her nearly three months to complete. Finally, Kate gave something as well. She had given him a painting that she made with colors that she made herself with the plants and stuff she found around the countryside.

Lucas enjoyed each gift, but it didn’t make either himself or his heart happy. He still felt empty inside as if a gap in his heart was still wounded from battle. Little did he know the girl he was dreaming about and slowly falling in love with was facing the same thing; she, herself was constantly dreaming and falling in love with him as well.

Chapter 6:

Prince Joseph and Eric were from the town of Gering, and knew about Savannah. They were both deeply in love with her and wanted her for their wife. But Savannah’s heart was set on the unknown man of her dreams. She had memorized all his key delicate features; from his daring hazel eyes to his strong muscular build. Lucas had memorized her features as well. Whenever he closed his eyes, he could see everything from her golden sunshine like hair, to her beautiful and white smile. He couldn’t wait to meet her, and ask her to be his wife.

*** “Savannah is as beautiful as God’s angel…and soon she will be my wife” Prince Joseph told Prince Eric as he got onto his prize-winning horse. Prince Eric pulled Prince Joseph off his horse in anger. And began yelling at him. Prince Joseph thought Prince Eric was insane, but that was another story. Prince Eric was a close friend of Prince Joseph’s, but he loved Princess Savannah more than anything in the entire universe. He wanted her for himself, and nothing and absolutely nothing would get in the way of that.

Chapter 7:

Meanwhile, back in present time Harmony

Helena glanced up at Sheridan and Luis. She had been forecasting their past for exactly three hours now, and she was getting tired. She then spoke to them in a kind, gentle voice and said, “My dear children, I’m sorry to cut this short…but I’m tired…is it possible to come back tomorrow so I can continue for you both?”

Sheridan and Luis were so interested in what their past lives were about that they didn’t hear Helena at first. Helena had to repeat herself twice so they could hear. Once they finally did, Luis got up from his chair and helped Sheridan out of hers. Once they were standing Luis managed to say, “Thank you, oh thank you. I know that it doesn’t seem like much but thank you.” Sheridan went on to say, “I know it may seem like nothing as of yet, but I want to know more. Plus that Prince Eric guy looks kind of cute. But not as cute as my Luis”

Helena looked impressed, for once her work was doing some good; instead of all that bad she experienced with all the other couples she dealt with in the past. The last couple she dealt with was Julian and Rebecca. Their reading was very poor, and after having it read to them, they fought continuously. However, Helena saved them, with the knowledge of love that is. She cast a love spell for them. She knew how much they truly loved each other, and didn’t want that to go to waste, plus Julian was a good tipper; she earned over $2000 from him for the reading.

Chapter 8:

At Sheridan and Luis’s apartment, that night

As Luis unlocked the door to their apartment; Sheridan ran to answer the phone. It had been ringing continually for the past two minutes. It was Sheridan’s best friend, Jenn; she grew up with Sheridan while Sheridan was still in Harmony, and they just got back in touch with each other just recently. Sheridan grabbed the portable phone before Luis could utter a word, and ran into their bedroom and closed the bedroom door behind her. Luis slowly crept towards the door, and placed a glass from the kitchen upon the door. And this is what he heard…

“Jenn, you should have been there today…it was totally amazing” Sheridan exclaimed. Luis unable to hear Jenn’s side of the conversation, but he was sure it was just as intimate and detailed as what Sheridan just said. Just then Sheridan came out of the room and was startled to see Luis standing there.

Luis stepped back slowly away from Sheridan, he felt guilty enough listening into her conversation with Jenn. Sheridan approached Luis carefully and grabbed him by his tie. Before he could utter a word, she pulled him into a long steamy kiss on the lips. Luis held on tight, he didn’t want this kiss to end, nor did Sheridan. However, it ended just as soon as it started with another phone call. This time, it was Sheridan’s ‘adopted’ little sister. Sheridan had been involved with a lot of community work lately, and all the girls looked up to her, especially one girl, McKenna. Sheridan gave Luis one final steamy kiss on the cheek, and then answered the phone; and then went back into the room.

Luis dared not to listen to Sheridan’s conversation this time. He went back into the kitchen to fix dinner instead. He prepared a special meal just for her. Something that would bring back memories fit for a lifetime.

Chapter 9:

Flashback

“Sheridan, what’s that burning smell?” Luis said as he checked on his steaks. “Oh no, my eggs!” Sheridan said as she rushed to check on her eggs, but they were already burned to a crisp. She was taught from a very young age not to waste food, plus she never really knew how to cook properly. “Poor Sheridan…can only have eggs.” Luis said with a smirk on his face as he brought his steak, salad, and corn on the cob into the living room behind Sheridan.

He loved tempting her, especially now since he was her bodyguard until the brush with the drug cartel was over. Sheridan took a seat on her couch, and began to eat her eggs. She looked at Luis angrily, she hated how he did this to her. She took a bite of her eggs, and a gulp of her orange juice. The burnt eggs were horrible, but didn’t want Luis to know. So she told him, “As a matter of fact, I like burnt eggs…they are my specialty.”

For once Luis felt sorry for her, unknown to him; the friendship they were just starting would turn into an everlasting romance and companionship. Luis cut a huge piece of his steak from his plate, gave Sheridan a piece of his corn on the cob, and some of his salad. Sheridan refused at first, but Luis kept on pressuring her to try it. “Come on Miss Crane, its not poisoned…,” he said.

Sheridan dug in, she was famished, and finished every single bite of it. And finally said, “Luis, where did you learn to cook like this?” Luis was astounded at her comments, and finally said, “Soon after papa disappeared…Mama had to work overtime for the Cranes. I had to take care of Theresa and Miguel on my own… As well Mama taught me a thing or two about cooking…I’m glad you enjoyed it!”

Chapter 10:

Luis got an idea; he was going to make the same meal they first shared together, when he started to protect Sheridan. Steak. Sheridan loved it, so why not make it again. He thought to himself as he prepared the food. He set the table the most romantic way possible. He placed two candles in the center of the table, and roses on her spot.

Sheridan came out of their room fifteen minutes later. She saw Luis in his apron, and was falling in love with him all over again. She sat herself down on her spot and began smelling the roses that Luis placed on her spot. Just then, Luis came in, steaks and all. He made everything from their first meal. He recreated everything from the succulent steaks to the tantalizing corn on the cob; except instead of being near enemies they were husband and wife. He placed a plate in front of Sheridan, and then placed one in his spot and sat down.

As Sheridan dug into her meal, she recalled how she first tried Luis’s steak. It brought back such great memories. And then she remembered how Luis thought he nearly lost her. Just as they found each other and declared their love for one another. Sheridan shrugged it off, and continued on with her meal. Luis glanced up Sheridan and asked, “Sheridan, doesn’t this bring back memories when I first made this for you?”

Sheridan smiled; he was so considerate of her well being. Sheridan took another bite of it, and then replied, “How could I forget a delicious meal like this Luis? I knew after having it the first time, I would never forget it.”

Luis smiled romantically at Sheridan, as he whisked away the dirty dishes. He came back. But there was no dessert. Sheridan asked him, “Luis, where’s dessert?” “Right here…” He said as he passionately kissed Sheridan on the lips, and carried her into their bedroom.
