Fan of the Month
April 2002
This months fan knows what it's like to ride horseback for many hours. She has her own horse and participates in competitions all around. She is an Ikeotic and when she isn't following behind a dump truck up a steep mountain or getting lost at the beach, she is a student at North Carolina State University studying enviromental engineering. Our fan of the month is none other than Rhiannon.
Rhiannon
1. What is your name or TYR name?Rhiannon, also know as Rhi (which happens to rhyme with "tree") not to ever be confused with some "rye" 2. How old will you be on your next birthday-include the date if you want? June 3, I will be 22. Send presents. 3. Tell us a little about your childhood. I was born in Oklahoma, but have lived in North Carolina for the most part. I'm an only child, lots of animals, great childhood, I came out of it loving my parents so that has to count for something! 4. Are you married, have children? no, no. 5. What do you wanna be when you grow up? Rich! But I will probably have to work as an environmental engineer instead. 6. What really annoys you the most? Inconsiderateness. 7. Who are your fave characters and why? Ike, becasue I am fascinated by mute characters in general, and Cody was my favorite in the very beginning. 8. When did you find the TYR sites on the web and start visiting them regularly? January 2000, somewhere around midnight-2 am as I waited to go pick up my roomate at a party. I was hooked from the beginning. 9. Who was the first person that you had contact with from TYR land? I dont remember the first email contact, My first board post was at Rider's Ranch (When the boards were hosted by 'Inside The Web,' which ate my very first post, so I assumed that the moderator had deleted it because she didnt like me or something. Later I found out that the board regularly ate posts, but I was still very leery to post anything slightly off-topic). The first person I met in person was Cholby in the summer of 2000, and the first fan I talked to on the phone(which happened to be after meeting Cholby)was Theresa. 10. Do you have a site or share a site with someone? Not really... I developed the "wounds" page linked to at Rider's Ranch, and if I see something website worthy I forward it to Raye. I would be the sort of webmistress that updates once every year or so. 11. If you could be one character from the show(guest stars included)who would it be? Emily. But it wouldnt end the same of course! 12. Which ep is your fave and least fave and why? Old scores is my fav because you learn so much about Ike's past, then he makes such a thoughtful decision in the end. My leat fav at the moment is Black Ulysses, for the sole reason that my roomate who never watched the show seemed to only see it when that particular episode was on, giving her a totally different impression of this quality entertainment that what it can offer ;) 13. If you could meet one person-dead or alive-who would that be and why? Narrowing it down to one person is so hard! ok... this, as told by a friend of mine, is "incredibly dorky" but my pick is William Mulholland. Of course you have never heard of him, unless you have been in a car with me on Mulholland Drive when I said "Wow! Mulholland Drive!" Anyways, he is the man responsible for bringing water to Los Angeles California, making it the tropical paradise it is now known as. In the beginning he wasn't trying to create a tropical paradise, he just wanted people to be able to take a bath more than once a week, but he did such a good job people started trying to find ways to use the water he imported. anyways... he create a monster, he knew it, but all he could do was try to keep up a water supply for the demand he created. He was also responsible for a dam collapse that killed over 500 people as the water washed out small towns and stuff. He resigned from the public water works position right after that, and lived the rest of his life feeling he was a failure because of his responsibility in that occurrence. There's all kinds of information if you look up "William Mulholland" on google. I don't want to meet him because I idolize him, but from what I hear he went through some major moral dilemmas, and he is responsible for so much of a very large part of American history without a large part of the population knowing (or caring). So I would like to meet him, I think he would have a lot of interesting things to talk about. 14. If you had five minutes on national TV to discuss any subject-what would it be and why? Ok, so this is really boring, but at the moment its something that I think should be publicly addressed. I don't believe I have the eloquence to make a huge difference in 5 minutes in any one particular large issue, so my subject would be this: If we conserved more of our resources, we would have such fewer problems in America. If we conserved gas, we wouldn't be in such a panic about the source running low. If we create less trash, we will need less unsightly landfills. Recycling saves some resources, but ultimately we are a wasteful society, and that could be lessened by changing just a few daily habits. Anyways, its boring, but I am on the verge of being an environmentalist. When I can practice what I preach I might push the issue further. Rhi put together a page with the list of wounds each rider received. Check it out.
