Fan of the Month

December 2001

This month's fan of the month has been around for a little while now. She always tries to answer any questions that us TYR fans have. She has recently opened up a message board for us fans. It's in a forum form and we think it's pretty cool-you know when another fan is on and you can even invite them to a chat. This month's fan of the month is none other than ChristyMB.

ChristyMB

1. What is your name or TYR name?

ChristyMB. The middle name (M) is Marie and the last name (B) you can ask me in an email. ;)

2. How old will you be on your next birthday-include the date if you want?

I will be 29 years old on December 31st. Just one year shy of 30!

3. Tell us a little about your childhood.

I was born, raised, and still live in Lakeland, Florida. I am the oldest of three girls. I spent a lot of time growing up reading lots of books. My parents didn't get along, but didn't divorce until I was in my early twenties. Reading was a big escape for me. I don't live near the beach, but I loved going there at least once a year.

4. Are you married, have children?

I am single, but I have a long term relationship with my boyfriend of 9 years. We may get married one of these days. We come from divorced families. I don't have children, but I'm an auntie Christy for a 3 1/2 year old nephew, a 2 1/2 year old niece, and an 8 month old niece.

5. What do you wanna be when you grow up?

I think I've changed my mind a bunch of times on this, but for right now, I think I want to stay involved in the computer world.

6. What really annoys you the most?

You know those cars that have the boom boxes in them. It seems they come down my street at the most inopportune time. I once woke up at 3 in the morning hearing BOOM BOOM BOOM...needless to say I was really ticked.

7. Who are your fave characters and why?

Kid and Lou. Kid, because I think he's sexy, good-hearted, strong, and definitely romantic. Lou because of her strength and her independent mind. Although I didn't agree with some of the things she did, I was able to understand why. She kinda reminded me of my mom. My mom looked a lot like her when she was younger. I think they complimented each other and made a great romantic pair. I'm a sucker for that!

8. When did you find the TYR sites on the web and start visiting them regularly?

I believe it was over a year or so ago? It was when TYR started on Odyssey. I've actually been on the net for awhile, but I didn't get to see the show so it was out of sight, out of mind. It was wonderful to see the show and get addicted to the fandom.

9. Who was the first person that you had contact with from TYR land?

Raye contacted me first after I made a comment about a fanfic I believe. She was very nice and welcoming!

10. Do you have a site or share a site with someone?

I don't really have a true website, but I have a message board that a friend gave to me as "gift" for doing some work for him. I've been having a fun time with it.

The Young Riders Community Forums

11. If you could be one character from the show(guest stars included)who would it be?

I would want to be Lou. Who wouldn't want to be surrounded by all those men!

12. Which ep is your fave and least fave and why?

The Sacrifice-this is going to sound weird, but it reminded me of the movie Ladyhawke where a troublemaker helps two people find their way each other. The Sacrifice is sort of the same concept where a supposed "troublemaker" helps two people find a way to love and accept each other even though they did already love each other. Also, I loved the proposal.

The episode I liked the least might surprise people. Mask of Fear is probably my least favorite episode. It just never felt like a Young Riders episode since it involved Jesse (who is my least favorite character). I did not feel any real emotions for this episode.

13. If you could meet one person-dead or alive-who would that be and why?

Oh this is going to sound sooo corny, but it would be Ty Miller. I would love to know what happened to his acting career and what got him into computers (that I read in an interview). I think there's more to him than his acting and I feel he would probably be an interesting person. :)

14. If you had five minutes on national TV to discuss any subject-what would it be and why?

Seriously, I would talk about an organization that my boyfriend's sister is involved with called the Ripple Effect. She has been involved in helping the homeless community in Orlando for nearly 12 years. I would educate and how people end up in this situation. I would also take the opportunity to point out some misconceptions about the homeless. Even if I could just point people to information on the organization, it would be helpful in educating about the homeless.
