Welcome to the TYR discussion. This week I am thrilled to say that none other than Aimee, the Kidette Queen, filled in for Jamie. I must say I really enjoyed it Aimee-Thanks a billion!!!NightinGail777: Hi Aimee! Welcome and THANKS for filling in for Jamie. AMLSMEC: ANY Time... AMLSMEC: Let me talk about Kid and TYR, and I'm there:) NightinGail777: Tonight we are gonna be discussing Speak No Evil. This is an Ike ep but it shows how all the riders stick together I think. AMLSMEC: I agree. AMLSMEC: It shows how they are coming together as a family. AMLSMEC: even in the short amount of time that they have been together. NightinGail777: Can you imagine coming up on outlaws robbing and killing people and then getting one alive on the back of your horse only to have her shot off?
AMLSMEC: I can't... AMLSMEC: Ike's had to go through so much in his life, and this is like reliving when his family was killed. NightinGail777: I agree. He had so many emotions in this ep and I think he showed them well. AMLSMEC: Travis Fine is great at that... NightinGail777: Yes he is. I love how they always had some other things going on also-the pretty lady that comes up while the boys are putting on the wagon wheel.
AMLSMEC: THAT scene was hilarious.... AMLSMEC: and I LOVE Jimmy's lines there! NightinGail777: I thought it was so funny ecspecially when Emma tells them that she was smiling at Lou. Did you see Kid nudge Lou?
AMLSMEC: YES!!! AMLSMEC: He's sooooo cute:) AMLSMEC: I love the expression on his face NightinGail777: Well-I have to disagree with you on that one......Jimmy is the cutest! AMLSMEC: Whatever... AMLSMEC: *I* know the truth but I also know there is no arguing with you Jimmyholics about it AMLSMEC: So I will let you live your days misguided. AMLSMEC: ;) NightinGail777: That's right-you can't argue with what is! AMLSMEC: *I* can argue with anything... AMLSMEC: I've just learned it is fruitless to argue with people who have no desire to know the truth AMLSMEC: Hehehe...but back to the episode... AMLSMEC: :) NightinGail777: I think Ike really scared everyone when he was shooting at the scarecrow. I do love the way everyone is concerned-ecspecially Buck.
AMLSMEC: Me too. I liked their different reactions too. AMLSMEC: It fit their characters a lot. Kid asking if Ike was alright, Jimmy taking out his worry by yelling at him... AMLSMEC: but you can tell they are both concerned... AMLSMEC: Did I say yelling? AMLSMEC: That was Cody, wasn't it? NightinGail777: He didn't really yell-not like Cody. AMLSMEC: Jimmy taking out his worry by making that sarcastic remark..."Well, he got him." NightinGail777: Ok, sometimes Jimmy comes off a bit harsh-but he's always there for them! AMLSMEC: Anyway, I thought that scene showed all of their characters really well... NightinGail777: I think Jimmy has a difficult time showing his true emotions-just as Cody laughs off his sometimes. AMLSMEC: I agree. AMLSMEC: He's still rather cocky and trying to be bigger than life here. NightinGail777: I think out of all the riders-Buck and Ike showed their emotions better. AMLSMEC: I agree. AMLSMEC: I like the scene in the barn when they are leaving...after the gang comes after them.
NightinGail777: I do too. It shows that they are all willing to sacrafice themselves for Ike. AMLSMEC: They stick together... NightinGail777: To stick by him no matter what! AMLSMEC: I think the writers did a great job of showing how they are coming together as a family AMLSMEC: This is one of the better episodes for that. NightinGail777: I think so too. I love the advice Teaspoon gives them when they are headed into town.
AMLSMEC: I like the whole scene between Kid and Jimmy and Cody with the hat
AMLSMEC: and how Teaspoon makes them buy a new one. NightinGail777: I thought Jimmy was really gonna shoot the hat. AMLSMEC: Me too! AMLSMEC: It was funnier that he didn't though. AMLSMEC: And it showed how young the boys really were still. NightinGail777: I know-I love the look on his face when he says OK. AMLSMEC: Me too! AMLSMEC: Okay, I'm watching the episode as we chat, and I just realized the closing scene, with them all riding side by side, is part of this episode! NightinGail777: Really-I hadn't noticed that. AMLSMEC: It's the scene right before they get to Johnson's place. AMLSMEC: Lou's opening credit scene is in this episode too. NightinGail777: Ok-I'll have to check that out. I'm watching too. I'm at the part where Ike sees Nickerson in town.
AMLSMEC: Nickerson is a mean mean man...making fun of Ike that way!
NightinGail777: I would just love to slap the you know what out of Nickerson for making fun and laughing at Ike. AMLSMEC: Me too. AMLSMEC: I may be a Kidette first and foremost, but I am an Ikeotic too... NightinGail777: I am too. You know that Ike has the best bod in the fence fixing scene. AMLSMEC: YES, he most certainly does! AMLSMEC: There ya go folks...history has been made here tonight... AMLSMEC: A Kidette and a Jimmyholic actually agree on which guy is the hottest in one scene... AMLSMEC: and it isn't Kid OR Jimmy! NightinGail777: I know-ain't it a hoot??? AMLSMEC: It's the power of Ike... AMLSMEC: He is a FINE man... AMLSMEC: (somewhere in Utah, a girl faints...) NightinGail777: I think so. NightinGail777: I think Ike should have had more eps just as Buck should have. AMLSMEC: I agree. AMLSMEC: I think they ALL should have had more eps... AMLSMEC: the show should STILL be going on! NightinGail777: I do too. It was and is the best western ever! AMLSMEC: It was and is the best television show ever! NightinGail777: OK-back to the ep. I can't stand how Nickerson is so smug about being arrested. He is so sure that he will get off. AMLSMEC: I know... AMLSMEC: but since I know he WON'T, I can laugh at him. AMLSMEC: Okay, back to the scene at Johnson's...
NightinGail777: He is so sure that they won't make it-but he doesn't know our boys! AMLSMEC: Why did Cody and Ike walk into Johnson's house without checking to make sure nobody was in there first?
NightinGail777: I have wondered that-it seems to me that someone other than Ike would have went in first. AMLSMEC: Me too AMLSMEC: But thanks to Lou, they came out of that just fine. AMLSMEC: (FINE! Hehehe) NightinGail777: I love how Lou thinks about cutting the cinch.
AMLSMEC: She's a smart girl! NightinGail777: And did you notice the language between her and Buck? Awesome. AMLSMEC: Yes, that's because Gregg and Yvonne had something going on... AMLSMEC: LLOL:) NightinGail777: I think I remember back then thinking that-you could tell by the body language that they had. AMLSMEC: You can REALLY tell in the interview they did with Rick Dees. AMLSMEC: Anyway, they get away, and the gang chases them... NightinGail777: I saw that at the ECR-courtesy of Raye. AMLSMEC: And then we get a really awesome scene between Jimmy and Cody...
NightinGail777: I love that scene! I love to see Cody aim his gun.....heehee AMLSMEC: Jimmy is so willing to sacrifice himself, but he's not willing to let one of his friends do it. AMLSMEC: I like how Cody aims the gun and then turns around to talk to Jimmy... NightinGail777: That's my man-but Cody was right-he is better at distance. AMLSMEC: Okay, back to when they are leaving Johnson's place... AMLSMEC: Why didn't Ike's saddle fall off too? AMLSMEC: How did Lou know what horse he would be on? NightinGail777: Lou didn't cut Ike's cinch AMLSMEC: Is that Ike's horse? NightinGail777: I think it was. AMLSMEC: I can't tell the difference between any of their horses, except Katy, Lightning, and Sundancer... AMLSMEC: Okay, so first Cody stays behind, then we get an awesome scene between all of the riders, when the gang has them pinned...
NightinGail777: It's hard sometimes. But I think it was his horse. The other two horses were away in the bushes. AMLSMEC: I was surprised it was Lou not Cody who said something about the gang starving them out... NightinGail777: Heehee...But Cody wasn't there. What about Kid admitting that Jimmy was a better shot?
AMLSMEC: He was just saying that to get Jimmy to let him stay behind... NightinGail777: Sure he was. AMLSMEC: Because he knew that Jimmy couldn't climb those rocks like he could.
AMLSMEC: I like the part where Jimmy yells at Ike for not killing Nickerson, and then immediately regrets it. NightinGail777: Jimmy can be a hot head at times-but I still love him anyway. AMLSMEC: I like first season Jimmy. AMLSMEC: Not as much as Kid, but I like him. AMLSMEC: Okay, my favorite line of the episode... AMLSMEC: Kid: Me and my big mouth. NightinGail777: ;-) Let's see-I think mine is when Sam tells Nickerson he's gonna let Jimmy in the cell with him. AMLSMEC: That is funny too. NightinGail777: Sam knew who could take care of Nickerson! AMLSMEC: Actually, I thought that part was with Petersen in Bad Blood... AMLSMEC: Was it in both? AMLSMEC: Or something similar? NightinGail777: I think so. AMLSMEC: Okay... AMLSMEC: Okay, stupid girl is seducing Buck!
AMLSMEC: He's in trouble!!! NightinGail777: What about the girl who dropped those packages? AMLSMEC: This is a great Lou/Jimmy scene too...
AMLSMEC: Lou: You're amazin' AMLSMEC: Jimmy: So I've been told. AMLSMEC: hehehehe NightinGail777: I love the way Jimmy tells Lou about handling his problems-he might have been a tad bit too harsh but in the end he says they are his friends too. AMLSMEC: That's Jimmy for ya AMLSMEC: Lou is really negative in this episode though. AMLSMEC: The scene between Lou and Kid when he and Cody show up is just too cute for words!
NightinGail777: She was-I think Jimmy may have done it to make her see that Kid and Cody can take care of themselves and not to believe in the worst. AMLSMEC: I agree. AMLSMEC: I like how he told her to think positive for a change... NightinGail777: Isn't it though? I love how she gives him that steak. AMLSMEC: Me too! Okay, on my tv, they just got the note that Buck is in trouble.
NightinGail777: And let's not forget that punch she gives him. AMLSMEC: They really were just too cute for words in the first season. NightinGail777: Yep-they were so young and inexperienced in a lot to things. AMLSMEC: They showed their innocence really well NightinGail777: I agree. AMLSMEC: The scene where Ike tells what happened to his parents makes me want to cry!
AMLSMEC: I think that is probaby one of Travis' best scenes in the whole series. NightinGail777: Ike looks so sad about Buck. It put him in a terrible position.Nickerson tants him about his family and I think that is so cruel. NightinGail777: I will give Kid credit though-he heard what Nickerson said about the minute Ike takes the stand.
AMLSMEC: You can see his face as the boys leave though...he really is trying to believe that they will find him. AMLSMEC: I agree...Fro-lock Holmes to the rescue! AMLSMEC: hehehe...I may be a Kidette, but I LOVE that nickname:) NightinGail777: You said that-not me.....LLOL AMLSMEC: Hehehe... NightinGail777: Nickerson is such a meanie. AMLSMEC: I like the montage, where the boys are looking, and they are leading Nickerson to court...
AMLSMEC: The music there fits really well. AMLSMEC: That courthouse looks almost as hot as my bedroom is right now! NightinGail777: Yes. I think Lou does a very good job of following the lady out that fainted. If she hadn't, they wouldn't have known where Buck was.
AMLSMEC: Me too. AMLSMEC: Okay, they've figured out Buck is in the water tower... NightinGail777: what was that? AMLSMEC: Buck is in the water tower... AMLSMEC: So, this town's water tower is dry, and nobody seems worried about that? NightinGail777: Maybe it's just not full-but they had to have somewhere to hide him. AMLSMEC: Maybe... NightinGail777: I love the look on Ike's face when he sees Buck walk in the courtroom.
AMLSMEC: Me too. AMLSMEC: And the part where he points at Nickerson is just too cool!
AMLSMEC: I love how they turn it into a photograph at the end too... AMLSMEC: This episode had really good sound and effects AMLSMEC: The music fit well...and the part where they were watching for Buck during the trial... NightinGail777: I wonder if there really was a Nickerson since they done that. It did have good sound effects. AMLSMEC: Cody was walking across the balconey, and you could hear his footsteps, then it switched to the judge's gavel
NightinGail777: Yep. NightinGail777: The look on Ike's face when he heard that gunshot was priceless-he looked as though he had lost his best friend.
AMLSMEC: I like the look of relief on his face when Buck walks in!
AMLSMEC: Yes, he did. NightinGail777: Well-I think that about raps it up for this ep. Jamie and I would like to Thank you so much for helping out with it. Hopefully her computer will be up and running for the next discussion. AMLSMEC: Thank you guys for letting me! AMLSMEC: And if you ever need me to do it again...(like, maybe for The Sacrifice...) AMLSMEC: I'd be HAPPY to! AMLSMEC: I would just like to end my part of this review by saying...
