Ten Cent Hero Welcome once again to TYR Discussion. This week we are discussing Ten Cent Hero-A Jimmy episode...WOOHOO!!! Hope you enjoy! NightinGail777: Hi Jamie and how are you tonight? JaMarieHickey: Doing well...you? NightinGail777: Doing great-tired but I'm glad to be finished cutting grass. NightinGail777: And tonight we get to discuss my favorite subject-Jimmy. JaMarieHickey: Well, I'm all rested up so I guess I'm ready to discuss Ten-Cent Hero. NightinGail777: Isn't it the cutest thing when they are all around the poker table watching the men play and helping them? JaMarieHickey: That was so cute. Sam was getting so upset with them NightinGail777: I know-I just love when he tells them he might be the first to break the peace. NightinGail777: He is so tough with that cigar the way he rolls it around in his teeth. JaMarieHickey: I know what you mean. Did you notice he was holding the Deadman's Hand?? NightinGail777: I did notice that. JaMarieHickey: I know!! I didn't think Jimmy was very nice to Cody though. He ruined Cody's book! NightinGail777: But Cody lost their earnings to sodbusters. JaMarieHickey: So he ruined Cody's book!! As a lover of books I thought it was mean!! :) NightinGail777: Oh but it was cute in a way-a boy thing I guess. JaMarieHickey: I guess. I think you think everything Jimmy does is cute though. hehehe NightinGail777: I do-he is just so cute, sexy, handsome and he is the MAN! JaMarieHickey: Umm...have to disagree with you there. But you knew that. :) NightinGail777: I ecspecially love the way he describes writers-a citified Jackydandy who wouldn't know a laso from lace bloomers....heehee JaMarieHickey: Yeah that's pretty funny. NightinGail777: What about when Cody finds out who Marcus is-he gets so excited! JaMarieHickey: I know. I would probably do the same thing if I met an author that I read a lot. NightinGail777: Yep-I guess. NightinGail777: Marcus sure does have Jimmy pegged wrong. JaMarieHickey: That's true. JaMarieHickey: I was a little surprised when Jimmy shot so many times. NightinGail777: And boy did Jimmy show him. I just love the way he shoots his hat off. JaMarieHickey: That was pretty cool. NightinGail777: And of course Buck's words-another day with Jimmy Hickok....so funny. JaMarieHickey: I know. They really pick on Jimmy about that in the first few eps. NightinGail777: I think Marcus set out to get Jimmy in trouble with Gabe Caulder JaMarieHickey: I think it was the only way he felt he could get even with Jimmy. NightinGail777: Probably-the pen is mighter than the sword-or so they say! Of course Teaspoon was wise enough to realize that. JaMarieHickey: Yes he was....wasn't that phrase framed in Marcus's office? NightinGail777: Yes-they show it before he starts writing. JaMarieHickey: I thought so. NightinGail777: I wonder if back in them days-they really went after someone who was supposedly fast with a gun. JaMarieHickey: I think they probably did. They felt they had to prove they were the "better" man. JaMarieHickey: What else did the professional gunfighters do? NightinGail777: I guess all they did was gunfight.....heehee NightinGail777: Jimmy is so quick when he gets that guys guns away from him on the road-then tells him to do them both a favor and buy some candy next time he had ten cents. JaMarieHickey: I know. Too bad he didn't listen. JaMarieHickey: hehehe I like it when the boys get a copy of the book. NightinGail777: Yep-they are all ears when Lou reads it. NightinGail777: And of course Kid had to get in on it-he told everyone he was Jimmy's sidekick. NightinGail777: But then again-that is about all he could be.....heehee JaMarieHickey: We all know how it really went though....Jimmy was Kid's sidekick! NightinGail777: Not even close! JaMarieHickey: Oh...ok...whatever. JaMarieHickey: I think it's funny when Jimmy stands up at the table and tells Cody to draw. NightinGail777: I know and then he draws a carrot. I love Jimmy's voice when he says-"you heard me Cody, stand up"-just so sexy! JaMarieHickey: Cody looked a little worried. NightinGail777: I would be too. NightinGail777: Of course Cody did want in on the fame Jimmy was having-sounds like Cody for sure. JaMarieHickey: Cody wanted to be famous. I don't think he had any problems riding on anyone's coat tailes. JaMarieHickey: I thought it was pretty funny when Jimmy asked the girls their opinion of the Lilac Water. NightinGail777: I know-if he would have ask me-I sure wouldn't have giggled and run away. JaMarieHickey: oops...tails. Yeah...we all know what you would've done. JaMarieHickey: hehehe NightinGail777: He was really paranoid when the little girls were reading a book. NightinGail777: He was mean to them but didn't mean to be. JaMarieHickey: Yeah. I felt sorry for him then...and for the little girls. NightinGail777: You know-at the time he couldn't read-he could only go by the pictures. JaMarieHickey: I know. NightinGail777: I think those two men that ride in are so scruffy looking. JaMarieHickey: Oh I know! You can tell their bad news. NightinGail777: Yep-and the way Sam talks to them-he knows them from the past. NightinGail777: They say he was an ex-gunslinger. JaMarieHickey: Yep. I was glad to see Sam help Jimmy out. Can't wait to find out the details about that. NightinGail777: Sam is so tough-he is a great marshal-he don't back down to no one. JaMarieHickey: Like I've said before...he's a bad ass! NightinGail777: And the way he just takes Jimmy in his office-then gives him advice. JaMarieHickey: Oh yeah...it's great. I think he sees himself in Jimmy. NightinGail777: You shoot to kill-it's the only chance you've got he tells Jimmy. NightinGail777: I think so-he says that he has traveled down that road. NightinGail777: Then we get to the part where Jimmy has nightmares....then blames Kid for sneaking up on him. He has such a tortured past. JaMarieHickey: I know what you mean. He could've shot my Kid!! :( JaMarieHickey: I wonder if Marcus had ulterior motives when he headed to Sweetwater to warn Jimmy about Caulder. NightinGail777: You know he did-he even got a room with the view of the street. NightinGail777: He was expecting something to happen. JaMarieHickey: He's an bad man..... NightinGail777: Of course Teaspoon comes to the rescue with some great advice. JaMarieHickey: Sure does! NightinGail777: And we see Jimmy in the sweat lodge. NightinGail777: It's so funny when he says he can't breathe. JaMarieHickey: I know! NightinGail777: At least Jimmy realized that the publicity was bad and not to take advantage of the fame. JaMarieHickey: That's true. It could've been a lot worse if he had tried to take advantage. NightinGail777: I just wish Caulder would have ended Marcus when he paid him a visit. JaMarieHickey: I know!! But if he had, Jimmy wouldn't have had much of a warning. NightinGail777: Instead he just slapped him. I know-but I would have loved to seen someone kick his butt. JaMarieHickey: I know. NightinGail777: At least he did warn Sam about Caulder. JaMarieHickey: And Sam rode out to warn Emma and Kid. NightinGail777: Yep-he was gonna stand up to Caulder and not let Jimmy-but then Caulder was a cheater and one of his gang shot Sam. JaMarieHickey: Yup...and they knocked out Kid. NightinGail777: I know-I hated when they done that-I don't like to see bullys pick on any of the riders-even if it is Kid. JaMarieHickey: Kid was just trying to help out his buddy. They're so mean!! NightinGail777: Caulder must not have had much confidence that he could out shoot Sam or Jimmy for that matter....but Jimmy took care of the other guns first. JaMarieHickey: I was glad he did that. I really helped to even the odds. I was a little surprised that he didn't kill Caulder though. Of course what he did, was worse I think. NightinGail777: I know-can you imagine-I mean Caulder himself was begging Jimmy to end it for him. JaMarieHickey: I know. It was almost cruel of Jimmy not to. NightinGail777: You know-I kinda liked the deputy that Sam had working for him now-before Barnett. JaMarieHickey: Too bad he gets killed. NightinGail777: I know. And of course that kid that stopped Jimmy on the road was just plain stupid around Caulder and his boys. NightinGail777: It's a wonder one of them didn't shoot him in the saloon. JaMarieHickey: I know. Then he has to go and yell Jimmy's name. NightinGail777: After I saw Jimmy do what he done to Caulder-I never would have called him. JaMarieHickey: I know! The kid must've wanted to make some kind of name for himself. NightinGail777: Well he didn't succeed. JaMarieHickey: I just love the scene at the very end. When Jimmy is walking down the street and Lou and Emma are following him on horseback. NightinGail777: And right before that-Emma comes over and takes Jimmy's gun. JaMarieHickey: I know. Cody catches Marcus writing about what happened. NightinGail777: Cody sees Marcus writing and then when they go in Buck stabs his knife in the paper and says he ain't gonna write about Jimmy no more. JaMarieHickey: Talk about intimidating. I liked Teaspoon's story. NightinGail777: I did too. I wonder if he wrote that story? JaMarieHickey: I'll bet he completely gave up on "Wild Bill" Hickok. I think Teaspoon and the boys put the fear of God in him. NightinGail777: I think so. JaMarieHickey: Overall, I think this is a pretty good ep. My only problem with it is...there's not enough Kid!! :) NightinGail777: Well-I just loved it and there was plenty of Jimmy!!! JaMarieHickey: I was pretty sure you loved it. hehe NightinGail777: Of course they could have had Jimmy in every scene and it would have been better but I guess the other riders would have been mad...heehee JaMarieHickey: Oh my! That would be a little too much Jimmy!! :) NightinGail777: Just wondering-did you see Cody's hands when he picked up the book and when he whisked Marcus' coat off? He has really nice hands. JaMarieHickey: I know. NightinGail777: I notice little things like that-like Ike has a well shaped head-funny thing is-I've never noticed anything about Kid;-) JaMarieHickey: Really....I don't ever notice much about Jimmy. Kid's got great eyes...a great body...nice butt....I could go on, but I don't want to take a cold shower! hehe NightinGail777: Well I could go on about Jimmy but it's getting late and we both have to work tomorrow.....what ep is next? JaMarieHickey: False Colors....a Kid ep!!!!! NightinGail777: I know-well I guess it is time for one of those..heehee JaMarieHickey: Sure is! You can never have too many Kid eps! hehehe NightinGail777: But it does have one of my all time favorite scenes in it...can you guess which one that is??? JaMarieHickey: Hmmmm......... JaMarieHickey: Oh I know....BASEBALL!! NightinGail777: Courtney laughs her butt off everytime we watch it......I have to hit rewind about a dozen times for her. NightinGail777: You got it. JaMarieHickey: It's hilarious!! I love that scene. NightinGail777: It is funny-but Teaspoon wants his boys to be well rounded-baseball, tennis, riding a bicycle ect.
