The Carters House - Set 3 years after last fic

"Isabella Dawn! Will you come here this instant!" Lucy shouted while chasing after her 3 year old daughter

Carter comes out of the bathroom with the toothbrush hanging out of his mouth

"What's up? Bella, are you not doing as you're told again?" Carter asked sternly after taking the toothbrush out of his mouth

Isabella became quite scared of her father when he spoke in that tone of voice, she usually did what she was told after that

"No Daddy, i jus' don' wanna wear that 'ucky top!" Isabella said pointing at the orange one Lucy held in her hand

"Why not pumpkin?" Carter asked holding his toothbrush

"Cos I don' like the orange one, i like the blue one!" Isabella said

"Right," Carter said crouching down beside her "I'll make a deal with you, if you wear that one today, you can wear the blue one tomorrow. But if you don't then you can't go over to Uncle Marks and Aunt Elizabeths and play with Ella"

"Ok Daddy" Isabella said and went over to Lucy, took the orange top and went into her room

Lucy walked over to Carter and kissed him

"Thanks honey, now hurry up and get ready" Lucy said and slapped Carters butt

The Hospital

"Hey Abs" Lucy said and walked over to the heavily pregnant Abby Kovac

"Hey Luce, how are ya?" Abby asks

"I'm ok" Lucy replies

"Things still not happening on the baby front?" Abby asks

"No, but we're still trying" Lucy said optimistically

"I don't want to worry you or anything, but have you thought about having tests to see if everythings ok?" Abby suggested

"Maybe, I'll discuss it with John, so how are you, you look awful" Lucy commented

Abby laughed "Thanks! No, Danny is going through his terrible-twos stage, and I'm so close to going into labour, I just want it over with, only a couple of weeks to go"

"Don't worry he'll grow out of it" Lucy tells her

"I hope so" Abby says

That night

Carter and Lucy are lying in bed together, Lucys head is on Carters chest and his arm is around her

"You know, I was talking to Abby today about me not falling pregnant, she said if things still aren't happening, we should think about having some tests done, you know, to see if anythings wrong" Lucy said

"She might be right" Carter replies

"I was thinking about going tomorrow" Lucy tells him quietly

"Do you want me to come?" Carter asks

"No, it's ok"

"Ok"

A week later

Lucy is reading her mail, when she notices one from the hospital with her lab results, she quickly opens it and reads it.

She drops it in shock and starts crying
