"Either Way, It's Still a Great Deal"

The first game was Questionable Impressions. (This is the only game that I'm going to mention in order because it's the only one whose position I remember for sure.)

Questionable Impressions: an emergency room; all four
Because of the special theme, the only impressions that the guys were allowed to do were television impressions. I remember that I recognized most of the impressions, but I had a hard time remembering who they were doing afterwards. I could only remember one per actor. Brad and Wayne started as usual. I don't remember whom either did during that session. Wayne was thrown out, and Ryan came in doing the lady from The Weakest Link. I wouldn't have known who the voice was (I've never seen the show) if Ryan hadn't done the famous exit line as a question. Ryan threw Brad out, and Colin came in. Colin was obviously Colonel Klink from Hogan's Heroes. Ryan died laughing and left. Wayne came in as Gary Coleman from Different Strokes. (I can't remember the character name.) Colin couldn't keep a straight face and left. Then Brad came in. His impression was really puzzling. He finally announced something about being stuck on an island. So I assume he was either doing the Skipper or Mr. Howell from Gilligan's Island. But I'm not positive. I suppose he could have been doing someone from the first Survivor. In that case, I have no clue as to whom he was supposed to be.

Film Dub: all four
I don't remember what the film was they were showing. I glanced at the monitor briefly, but that was about it. I don't like Film Dub as a game mostly because I like watching the actors act which you can't see on TV. So I took the opportunity to watch the actors. I remember two things from this game: (1) Brad took the lead role, Ryan was the second lead, Colin voiced a minor character, and Wayne provided incidental voices; (2) Ryan, Colin, and Wayne all knelt on one knee to watch the film but Brad stretched out and lounged on his side to watch. I guess I remember that because Brad was different from the others.

Props: Brad and Wayne = fuzzy human-sized horseshoe; Drew and Ryan = 2 flat foam shaped like human head profiles
I don't remember too many of the uses. Brad and Wayne "followed the fuzzy brick road". Brad played horseshoe and made a ringer around Wayne. At one point, Ryan commented that his props must have been painted in the last hour or so because the fumes were getting to him and he was having trouble thinking. When Keith or Dan made them do some more, Colin called both teams over and provided some suggestions. I hope they don't use this Drew game for the non-theme episode. There's a much better Drew game they could use instead. Much, much, much better.

World's Worst: TV shows outtakes; Wayne, Drew, Colin, and Ryan
This was very difficult for the guys to do. The hardest one of the weekend. Drew came out fairly early, turned his back to us, mimed kissing, and then turned back around, surprised, "Mimi, we're filming!" That got a good response. After that there was a long pause. So Drew came out and did the same gag using "Lewis, we're filming!" Another pause. So Drew did one with Oswald too. He was mostly killing time, and everyone knew it. Ryan did one with The Weakest Link lady, "You're are the weakest link. Welcome!" My personal favorite was Drew's. He swung his arm out, pointed, and cried out, "It's that other girl!" I didn't hear anyone in the audience laugh. Except me. And since I laugh silently, it seemed as if no one laughed. Drew collapsed in despair, but Colin really liked it and complimented him on the joke. I guess Drew, Colin and I were the only ones who remembered the traditional opening to That Girl. They tried to explain the joke, but I don't think the audience got it even then. So Wayne's next outtake was of Drew saying "It's that other girl!" If they make two theme episodes, they might have to use this game because I don't think they have three full Drew theme games, if I remember correctly. I hope I'm remembering wrong though because it wasn't a great game.

Scenes from a Hat: all four
I can't remember a single entry from this game. But since I spent almost all the time watching the actors who weren't performing, I'm not surprised at that. I can always see the performances on the show.

Doo-Wop: Wayne, Brad, and Colin sing about Kathleen who died in a horseback riding accident
Drew originally took crochet as the hobby suggestion for this game. Keith piped up and said that they couldn't use it because they had recently done that topic. Drew didn't remember using crochet then Keith admitted that the topic had actually been knitting, but since crochet was so similar they still couldn't use it. Colin: "Oh good!" in a thankful tone of voice. So the topic was switched to horseback riding. The only thing I remember from this game was Colin's ending line. He had been singing that Kathleen was sick and died in the hospital from her illness. He ended his lyric with "I didn't know you could get pneumonia from a little colt." Ouch. After the game, Ryan commented that crocheting would have been funnier.

Let's Make A Date: Brad = contestant; Wayne = TV evangelist apologizing for cheating on his wife, Colin; Colin = ventriloquist using human-sized dummies and looking to spice up his act with; Ryan = life of Superman
I remember Wayne tearfully coming to the audience to apologize for his sins. I know that he did that on the first question, I can't remember if he did it on the second question as well. Towards the end of each bit, he would turn to Colin and direct his comments to Colin. At one point, I think he kissed Colin on the cheek. I remember thinking that I would have had a hard time guessing that Colin was his wife. And I think Brad needed some help guessing that part of the quirk. Colin used Wayne and Ryan as his human-sized dummies, naturally. He brought his arm around behind the others and then upwards to indicate that he was putting his hand in the dummies. He then grabbed the back of their necks and squeezed when he wanted them to open their mouths to speak. Brad got the ventriloquist part, but I don't think he figured out the "spice up the act" bit. Ryan's quirk was the best. He started from birth. When the doctor slapped him, he kicked out sending the doctor flying across the room. Then he crawled over to Colin's stool and lifted it off the ground. Colin played along really well, so the whole bit of lifting Colin was very effective. During the second question, Ryan announced that he needed a disguise here on Earth. So he reaches over and pulls off Drew's glasses. Puts them on and then slumps meekly onto his stool. Then he pulled the glasses off and hopped off the stool straight into Superman's Truth, Justice, and the American Way stance. Ryan did the Clark Kent / Superman switch a couple of times, and it was very effective. Brad didn't have any problems guessing Ryan's quirk.

If You Know What I Mean: Brad, Colin, and Ryan
I don't remember what the suggestion was. Drew read it off the card like last season instead of getting it from the audience as in Season 2. The innuendoes were all sexual in nature again which seems to be the only way this game works successfully. Nothing as bad as the weightlifting reference though. But if this game airs, I hope they show Brad miming lifting weights over his head when Drew is talking. Clearly, Brad remembered that moment.

Party Quirks: Brad = host; Wayne = famous scenes from television; Colin = a series of talking barnyard animals that don't understand the electric fence; Ryan = sports fans discovering themselves on television and doing stupid things
The only scene I remember Wayne doing was from All in the Family. Using Drew as Archie Bunker, Wayne recreated the scene where Sammy Davis, Jr., kisses Archie. I thought it was funny that Brad first guessed Wayne as doing scenes from CBS television shows given that WLiiA is on ABC. Ryan played his quirk silently. He mimed everything. Brad had to have help guessing Ryan. Brad was stumped on Colin's quirk. Colin had been talking the entire time, but eventually he started talking the entire quirk. As a chicken, Colin said, "I don't understand. There's a strong feeling running through me." Everyone got a big kick out of listening to Colin come this close to saying his quirk outright with Brad still clueless as to what he was. Afterwards, Ryan commented about his quirk, saying, "I guess I could have talked." Brad responded, "The chicken was talking."

Weird Newscasters: Colin = anchor; Brad = co-anchor; Wayne = sports; Ryan = people from the MTV show "Jackass"
Well, you can see that I don't remember too much of this game. I don't remember Brad's or Wayne's quirks. Before I talk about Ryan's quirk, I want to talk about the pickup for Weird Newcasters. I don't think the pickup introduction will be used because Colin's introduction during the pickup was almost wooden. On purpose, I think, to force the editors to use his first introduction. During the pickup, Colin introduced himself as "Kith My'Ath". Like the pickup for Chip's taping, we got a completely new bit from Brad plus this time we got another complete bit from Wayne. When Colin threw the game over to Ryan for the weather, Ryan thanked Colin using his newscaster name without the lisp, "Thank you, Kiss My Ass." That's when the pickup stopped. If I had to guess what was going on with that pickup, I'd guess this. For whatever reason, Brad and Wayne were asked to redo their original bits. To provide the glue, Colin had to redo his intro. But to guarantee that his original performance was used, Colin seriously underplayed his pickup performance. We'll know for sure when (and if) this airs. If Colin introduces himself as "Kith My'Ath" then it's from the pickup. If he names himself something else, then it's from the original bit.

And now for Ryan's quirk — the only one I remember. Not only have I never seen the show "Jackass", I've never even heard of it. So when Drew told Ryan his quirk, I had no clue what to expect. During Brad's quirk, I noticed that Ryan walked over to Laura's piano and lifted the lid. I guess he was checking to be sure that is wasn't latched down. When Ryan began his quirk, he walked over to the piano and slammed the lid on his hand. Twice. Then he wandered across the stage doing stupid things to injure himself. (I guess people on the real show do injury-inducing stunts, maybe?) When Ryan finally got to Drew's desk, he got down on the floor and started to ram his head into the neon light. He rocked back and forth on his hands and knees a couple of times. Each time he's getting closer and closer to the light. The audience was egging him on. Finally, he quit, got up, and announced as he crossed back to his side of the stage, "Only an idiot would do that." I'm not sure if this banter happened immediately after playing Weird Newscasters, or whether it happened after the pickup for the game, or whether the banter happened randomly in the taping. I think it happened after the pickup. Drew told the audience that Ryan had actually hit his head on the neon light causing it to break. (As if we needed reminding of that.) He added that everyone was concerned for about two seconds then they all started laughing. Ryan picked up the story, repeating Drew's comments. "Yeah, they were concerned for about two seconds..." Colin interjected, "Don't kid yourself." Ryan continued as if he hadn't heard Colin, "... and then. Colin?" Without looking at Colin, Ryan handed the story off to him who supplied the punch line, "It would have been better if your head had burst into flames." Just like the first time, Ryan doubled over laughing. I don't think the banter will air unfortunately.

One Voice: Wayne and Colin = Miss Piggy; Ryan and Brad = Kermit, the frog
This is a new singing game. I'm not sure I got the name right. One Voice, With One Voice, All as One — something like that. The four divided into pairs as I listed above to make a famous couple. In honor of the television salute, they were a famous TV couple. They had to sing a love song to each other. Each pair had to sing the same lyric simultaneously. In other words, Wayne and Colin had to sing together as if they were Miss Piggy and the same with Ryan and Brad as Kermit. They were surprisingly good. Wayne was the song's leader for his pair and he set a high pitch. Almost too high for Colin. So watch Colin's face as he struggles to keep the pitch. The game ended with Wayne and Colin giving the other two a karate chop. I hope this airs; I liked it.

Letter Change: B replaced by F; Brad = doctor; Colin = nurse; Ryan and Wayne = patients
After Drew started reading the game card, Keith stopped him. Apparently, the card had been mistyped because it said that the letter F was to be replaced by the letter B. Eventually, Drew and Keith got it straightened out so that the letter B was to be replaced by the letter F. So Colin started calling Brad, "Frad". Even though he was supposed to play the game as if he was a nurse, Colin acted as if he was a doctor. Another mix-up, Ryan came into the scene also playing a doctor. So we had three doctors and no patients until Wayne arrived. When Wayne came in, he announced that he had been injured while camping. Brad pounced on him and asked if a "male deer" had injured him. Wayne froze knowing that Brad was trying to get him to say "buck" with the required letter change. Brad tried again to corner Wayne, talking about the four-legged animals with the pointed antlers. Wayne eventually worked his way around not saying the forbidden word. But it was funny to watch Wayne squirm. After the game back at his seat, Wayne was bragging a little (rightfully so) that he managed to avoid the word. Brad and Colin didn't return to their seats right away for some reason so they were left alone on the stage. Brad reached for his pants' pocket and mimed pulling out some money and handed it to Colin. "I'll give you a fuck for a flowjob." Or maybe he said, "I'll give you a fuck for a handjob." It was a little hard to hear the last part of the sentence over the audience's laughter. But as Ryan pointed out, "Either way, it's still a great deal."

Quick Change: Brad, Colin, and Ryan; Drew calls change
I've completely forgotten all the details on this game except one. Brad was quick changed into giving birth somehow. In a second quick-change process, Brad delivered the baby through various parts of his body. Ending with the baby coming through his nose. Just after Colin (who must have been a doctor) had started his next lines, Brad asked him if he was going to cut the umbilical cord. So Colin snipped the umbilical cord at the end of Brad's nose. Even though I don't remember many details, I remember that this was a really fun game. Drew was a little slow to call "Change" at the beginning but he picked up later. Drew especially liked making Brad go through the change process, sometimes calling Change for a very long time for Brad. I figure Drew was getting revenge for Brad's Quick Changes when they do the club shows. If there is a non-theme episode from this taping, hope and pray that this is the Drew game they show because it was the best of the non-theme Drew games by far.

Number of Words: Ryan = Captain Kirk (3 words); Wayne = Klingon (4); Brad = Mr. Spock (5); Colin = Scotty (2)
When Drew announced that Colin was Scotty, Wayne exclaimed, "the dialect!" knowing exactly why Colin got that part. Colin double-checked his number of words commenting afterwards, "Good, that's the limit of how long I can go" or something like that. Wayne and Ryan begin the scene with Wayne covering Ryan with a phaser. Mr. Spock (Brad) comes in, and Captain Kirk orders him to use the Vulcan nerve pinch on the Klingon. Mr. Spock has forgotten how to do the nerve pinch. But when he finally remembers, he uses it on himself. So Brad collapses to the stage and is unconscious for the rest of the game. Scotty comes in and announces that the ship is in danger. The Klingon decides this is all too much for him, so he uses the nerve pinch on himself (or maybe shoots himself?) and Wayne is out for the game. Leaving Colin and Ryan to try to carry on with just themselves, their limited vocabulary, and an exploding ship. Afterwards, Drew compliments Brad on getting himself out of the game so early and then advises that if any junior improvers want to get out of playing a scene to do like Brad did and just play dead.

Sound Effects: Colin = Bosley; Ryan = one of Charlie's angels; trying to rescue the other two captured angels
This was the funniest of the three Sound Effects games, I thought. Part of the fun was that Ryan kept calling Colin "Charlie" instead of Bosley. The mistake was definitely unintentional the first few times. And I think it was unintentional every time. Once Ryan had the name Charlie in his head, he just couldn't seem to get it changed back to Bosley. If during Drew's introduction to the game, Drew says that Colin is playing "Bosley, Bosley, Bosley" very emphatically that introduction came from the pickups and he did it because Ryan kept screwing up the character name. The one incident I remember from the game itself was that one of the ladies made a hissing sound just before Ryan and Colin took off in the plane to go rescue the others. Ryan deflated his breasts at that point.
