Episode 1.08:
Gina was about to knock on Brandon's door when
came out. Gina admits to Brandon that she is with him for the wrong reasons. Brandon is
kind of upset that they are breaking up but he knew it wouldn't last. He felt that is was
sudden but came to terms with it. Gina also told him about her trip to NY and how she will be
living there for a while. They shared one last kiss and she headed back to her apartment.
At Now Where This, Gina is telling Donna her idea
about being Now Where This's sales consultant. Donna is uneasy about the idea of Gina moving
away from home again. On the other hand, she likes that Gina's putting her career first.
Within a matter of minutes, Gina gets Donna to agree.
Valerie called Kelly asking to have lunch.
Kel said yes but she couldn't leave the office because she was swamped. So Val brought
lunch to her. They eat, joke, and laugh. Who knew old enemies could have so much fun?!?
Dylan hired a new assistant manager for the
hotel. He allowed her to move in since she will be spending so much time there.
Janet and Kelly are looking for maternity
clothes for Janet. None from the last pregnancy still fit. Janet is hoping that it
will be a girl.
Steve is telling Dylan how he is dying for Janet
to have a boy. Three more months and the baby is due. Steve also tells Dylan that he's
worried that the paper won't be successful.
On his way into the office, Brandon sees Dylan
leaving. He mentions to him the idea of having a guys night while the girls have their baby
shower.
Later that day, Janet was finishing up her article
on the Pregnant Women's Rights Club. All teary-eyed, she handed it to Steve and left. After
reading the article, Steve felt really bad about fighting with her. He suddenly understands
why she was being so secretive about it. He felt so guilty. He had to make it up to her.
After a meeting at work, Lexi persuades Rick to
have dinner with her. He calls Val at home but no one answers so he decides to go with her.
When Val got home there was a message on the
answering machine. It was from Rick, saying he was working late. Liar.
At the Pit, Valerie and Kelly are waiting for
Donna. They are going to plan the baby shower. Finally, Donna arrives. They put their
heads together and start to plan the best baby shower ever.
At dinner, Lexi and Rick are really getting
along. Lexi shows a side of her that he never saw before. He starts thinking that maybe
she isn;t a bitch afterall. Maybe Rick needs some new contacts or something.
When Janet arrived home, she found the house
quiet and dark. She went upstairs and found Steve on the bed, surrounded by candles. He
explained how sorry he was and he wanted to make up for everything. She quickly put Maddy
to sleep and joined him. They spent a romantic evening together, holding each other and
just relaxing.
To his suprise, Gina invites Dylan for lunch.
To her suprise, he says yes. Don't worry, it's strictly platonic.
David is going through a major writer's block
while attempting to write his first piece for the paper. Finally an idea hits him and he's
on a roll. He finishes and hands it to Steve. "Take It From Me, I'm a DJ". Hmm, not bad,
Silver. Steve is really please with his article and is finally confident that the paper will
be successful. Steve is so happy, that he is dancing all around the office. In the midst of
his routine, Janet walks him. She puzzled as to why Steve is dancing atop of the desks. Steve
gets off and tells Janet that he is going to be spending the night with the guys, trying to
avoid telling her why, he just tells her he wants a guys night. After they leave, Donna calls,
asking Janet to meet her at Casa Walsh so they could "talk".
Donna arrives at Casa Walsh and sees Steve on his
way out. So far everything was going the way they planned. This was going to be some suprise
shower party. Donna went inside and got straight to work. Steve helped so Donna was all alone. She decorated the living room with tons of pink and blue streamers. In walks Valerie and Kelly. And what might they be carrying? Streammers! Guess they won't be needing those! They finished decorating when Kelly realized they had no food! Kelly headed out to the store without forgetting to get the popcorn and icecream for Donna. While Kelly is out, Donna finds out that Val invited strippers. Earlier that day, they decided that the party would also be a going away party for Gina since she was temporaily moving to New York. When Kelly returns, Donna is shocked to find out Kel knew about the stippers. They hear Janet's car pull up. They hit the lights.
"Suprise", the girls yelled when Janet entered.
At the After Dark, the guys are bonding. They
brought their sleeping bags and all so they could spend the night there. The guys spent the
whole night talking.
Steve spoke about the joys of fatherhood. In
college he never thought he'd be much of anything. Now, he's owned and sold a newspaper. Along
with his wife and friends he's starting his second publication. He has a beautiful daughter with
another child along the way. He mentioned that he was scared at first, asking himself the normal
questions: Am I ready, how will I do, things like that. He's thankful now, that he stuck around.
He couldn't ask for anything more.
David couldn't help but agree with Steve on the
happiness part. They've all seen and done so much. He alone has had a hit song, played in a
band for Babyface. He has a successful radio show and how he managed to marry the most beautiful
woman in the world is beyond him.
Brandon talked about his time in Washington. He
left, not only for a better job, but it felt like he was running away from everything. Mostly
Kelly. He came back to the people and the town he knows and loves. He met a few people there,
like everywhere else he fit in, but it wasn't home. He came back to his friends. Some people
were gone, some had come back and changed, and then there were the new people, like Gina
Kincaid.
Rick was amongst strangers. He wasn't sure what he
wanted to tell them. He started off by rattling off what Valerie had told him of them. Every one
of them. He said that he surprised himself by staying with Val. Especially after everything she
told him. Val told him that she was surprised too. He moved out here and Val told him that they
would all accept him like they did her and she was right. He feels comfortable around these
people.
Noah had over come his drinking problem, like
Dylan. He lost Donna, but he's over come that too. He said that he was very comfortable with
his life right now. He didn't have much to say, other than the fact that he is Happy.
Dylan told the guys about his time in Europe.
Nothing about Toni. He felt like he was searching for something and running from something
all at one time. He found peace with Brenda for a short time, but like everything else that
changed. When he came back, his best friend was gone. He ended up finding comfort in someone.
Dylan nearly lost David's friendship over that someone. He eventually learned his dad was alive
and then Jack was gone just as fast as he had re-appeared. Then he found what he was searching
for all along. His soulmate. Kelly Taylor.
The evening ended up being more serious than they
all had intended, but it was a good time for all of them. They needed to do say they did. They
sat there, on the floor, a little while longer. No one wanted to say anything and ruin the
moment. It was a comfortable silence. They would probably never talk about this outside the
After Dark. Almost as if it was an unspoken rule. They were fine with that. They all ended up a
little closer that night, even Rick.
At Casa Walsh, the party is in full swing by the
time Gina arrives. She can hear the music from outside the door. She doesn't bother knocking.
As she walks into the living room, she is first amazed at at all of the streamers. Then she
notices something else odd. Janet is no longer the only one who looks pregnant. She is,
however, the only one who appears to be sober. Gina wonders why all of them have pillows under
their shirts. When she asks, the girls break out in laughter. Gina is shocked that the party
is also for her. She really was part of the gang. They all got together on the floor to give
baby gifts to Janet. Val got her the cutest pink little teddy bear. Donna got her a diaper bag
complete with bottle, bibs, etc. Kelly gave Janet cute little dresses for when the baby gets
older, assuming it's a girl. Gina, the practical thinker, got Janet a diaper genie with
package of diapers in every size. To her suprise, the girls had gotten Gina gifts too. Donna
gave her a Palm Pilot. Kelly gave her a journal, just like the one she and Val exchanged a
few years back. And Valerie got her a pretty jade necklace. Janet felt bad that she didn't
have a gift for Gina but she didn't know about the party. They were interrupted by the
doorbell. Val opened the door. In walked 5 NICE looking strippers. They turned on the music
and the party really began. One of the strippers picks Gina up and she tips him. The
strippers dance on the coffe table and the girls have a fun night. Everyone crashes at Casa
Walsh as planned.
When everyone was asleep Brandon snuck up to
Dylan's office. He looked in his desk and found a computer disk. He inserted it and started
typing his article: The value of friendship and family and no matter how much things may change
the more they stay the same.
Dylan woke up a few hours later and saw that his
office light was on. He made his way up the stairs only to find Brandon asleep at his desk. He
skimmed the words on the screen. He smiled as he saved Brandon's work. Dylan turned off the
light and went back down stairs. He placed the disk in Brandon's bag and went back to sleep.
