NEW**ACTOR NEWS:Passions has been honored with three awards in the 17th Annual Soap Opera Digest Awards! The winners are: McKenzie Westmore (Sheridan) as Outstanding Heroine, Josh Ryan Evans (Timmy) as Outstanding Male Scene Stealer, and Robin Strasser (Hecuba) as Outstanding Female Scene Stealer.

NEW**SHOW NEWS:Passions was named recipient of the Imagen Award for Outstanding Daytime Drama.

NEW**SPECIAL GUEST:Luz Briseno, Felipe de la Rosa, Arturo Armas, Fred Herrera and George Llanes are the members of the real-life mariachi band "Guacamole Mariachi" who play at Luis and Sheridan and Ethan and Theresa's wedding rehearsal and wedding. You can see and hear them on-air on June 27, June 28, and July 16-20!

**SHOW NEWS:NBC will become the first network to broadcast its entire daytime schedule with a Spanish closed-captioned translation when "Passions" and "Days of our Lives" begin the service for all of its affiliated stations on July 9. The closed-captioning feature will continue throughout the summer on both shows.

**ACTOR NEWS:Bruce Michael Hall (Reese) and Jade Harlow (Jessica) are now a real-life item. "We started out as friends, and then it developed into romance," Hall tells Digest.

**SHOW NEWS:Michael McDonald, 'Stuart' of 'Mad TV', joins the cast of 'Passions' in a mystical role. Portraying 'The Face in the Pool,' Michael will have some fun creating mayhem and misery for Tabitha and Timmy as well as others in Harmony.

**SPECIAL EVENT:This just in! The Second Annual Passions Fan Club Breakfast will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2001 at Universal Studios Hollywood from 9am-12noon. The tickets are $60 for fan club members and $80 for non-fan club members. In addition to getting to meet and mingle with the cast of Passions, the ticket price includes: a breakfast buffet, Q&A with the stars, a silent auction, autograph signing session, a special gift, and full admission to Universal Studios Hollywood Themepark for the entire day!

**GUEST STARS NEWS:Their will be an upcoming guest appearances of Hispanic talk-show host and media maven Cristina Saralegui ("The Cristina Show") and actor Emiliano Diez ("Los Beltran"). The two will be making their acting debut in an English-language network daytime drama. Beginning on July 15, Saralegui will portray Aunt Cristina while Diez will play Uncle Francisco Lopez. Francisco is the brother of Pilar, while Cristina is his wife. They come to Harmony to join in a Lopez-Fitzgerald family celebration.
