FANTASYFOOTBALLA
site for the FANS
- Jerry
Rice – Still a name, but not the player that he was.
New team may rejuvenate him a little bit, but don’t expect big
numbers. Only caught for 800
yards last year and will not exceed that mark this year.
Is a possession receiver now, not the explosive player that he was.
- Elvis
Grbac – Had a great year numbers wise last year, but don’t
expect it again. Still a good
quarterback, but the system he’s in will not allow huge numbers.
If leading in second half, Raven will run clock, run the ball, and
let the defense hold the lead. Receiving
corps is average, and Jamal Lewis will get the call often in the Red zone.
- Matt
Hasselbeck – Very unproven, but deemed the quarterback of the
future in Seattle. Arm strength
is average, so is his speed, but has good awareness.
Receivers are young and relatively inexperienced, so is offensive
line. AFC West has many good
defenses in it. Signing of Trent Green after camp started tells me
something as well.
- Terry
Glenn – Lack of running game will hurt Glenn, as will durability.
His 12.2 yards per catch were the lowest of his career, showing he
lacked big play potential. Is a
black hole at times on the field at times.
- Garrison
Hearst – Should get the starting nod in Frisco, but will not be an
every-down back. Will split
time with Kevan Barlow. Hearst
hasn’t strapped the pads on in two years because of injury, and may be
100% but will not return to his Pro Bowl type form.
- Jay
Fiedler – Is his job to lose in Miami, however, he might do that.
Went down last year with an injury, and durability will be a question
this year. Very intelligent
player but has a tendency to under throw the deep ball.
Needs to limit interceptions, a fantasy backup at best.
- Tim
Biakabutuka – The return of some of the supporting cast in
Carolina will help Tim, but he still will struggle to produce.
Has never played more than 12 games in his career, and fumbles more
as the year progresses. Will
start off fast but will disappear later in the year.
Quarterback dilemmas in Carolina also hurt the running game.
