NE OHIO HOME CAVALIERS FANTASY FOOTBALL
KENT STATE INDIANS BROWNS

With the NFL season upon us, it’s time for the annual tradition of reading magazines, watching preseason games, and going through mock drafts to try and improve our chances of doing well in our respective leagues.  The following may also help you decide who the best picks should be on Draft Day, depending on the kind of team you are looking to draft.  Also please remember that there are different formats that leagues follow, so draft according to whether the league you are drafting in is a yardage league or point’s league.

Take a look at my four other player sections...

Fantasy Superstars
Players With Upside Underrated Players
Fantasy Busts Consistent Scorers

  1. The Rams’ tremendous three – Marshall Faulk, Kurt Warner, and Isaac Bruce are all definite first round picks.  Faulk scored a total of 26 touchdowns (18 rushing) and could produce more this year as he is 100%.  Bruce and Warner hooked up nine times for touchdowns as well as a total of over 1,400 yards.  Warner’s interceptions are high, but should throw for well over 30 touchdowns.
  1. Randy Moss  - The best wide out in the game today.  Has over 1,300 yards in his first three years and with a maturing quarterback look for those numbers to increase.  Even though he doesn’t run routes across the field, his speed and ability to catch the long ball is amazing.
  1. Brett Favre – This cagey veteran still knows how to throw the ball and win games.  Injury has plagued him, but if healthy is still a lethal weapon.  Threw for over 3,800 yards last year.
  1. Tampa Bay’s Johnson Boys – Nobody ever doubted the athletic ability of Keyshawn Johnson, but his attitude and production has been.  The addition of Brad Johnson gives him a legitimate quarterback and field general.  Both of their production will increase with Keyshawn grabbing double-digit touchdowns.
  1. Eddie George – The former Buckeye ran for just over 1,500 yards last year and look for him to repeat.  He is durable and can go up the middle or off tackle, so his versatility is a plus.  His numbers could increase if his supporting cast steps up.
  1. The Colts Special Couple – Peyton Manning may arguably be the best quarterback in the league, and Edgerrin James may be the best running back in the league.  Barring a blockbuster deal, having the tandem together is nearly impossible, but drafting either one with a first round pick is a selection well used.
  1. Corey Dillon – Dillon rushed for a career high 1,400 yards last season with a dismal team. Additions to personnel have given Dillon more of a supporting cast, creating more possibilities for scoring.  Will be utilized more as a receiver out of the backfield, but playing the Ravens and Titans four times hurts him.
  1. Terrell Owens – Owens has become the man in San Francisco, catching 97 balls last season.  Expect him to catch over 100 balls this season and close to 15 touchdowns.  Jeff Garcia is expected to have a big year, creating more upside for Owens.  A mid-first round pick would be very smart.
  1. Donovan McNabb – Last year was an absolute breakout year for this young signal caller.  Not only does he throw for many yards but has the capability to rush for yards as well.  His numbers should improve this year, especially with a healthy Duce Staley, putting him in the elite group of quarterbacks.  Schedule could be a problem for his productivity.
