What Would You Do? is
a game show hosted by Marc Summers. It ran new episodes
from 1993-1996. Toward the end of Nickelodeon's golden
age, it combined wacky and zany stunts, audience
interaction, pies, and a "Wall 'O' Stuff" to
form a new type of show that was once availible on
Nickelodeon and is now only available on Nickelodeon's
Games & Sports. Pie
Stunts:
-Pie Pod- Probably the
most famous of all of the pie stunts it was the only one
to actually use intact pies. What would happen is the
person would get strapped into the seat and the person
would get as many pies as the audience said. In the event
one of the pies hit a bullseye behind the person a large
amount of pink slime would fall onto the contestant.
-Pie Slide- This was a
favorite with the audience members as the contestant
would get to go down the slide into a big pool of whipped
cream if they won or lost the game. This always was fun
and somehow Marc Summers would get tossed in.
-Pie Wash- This stunt is
like a whipped cream wash for people. The contestant sat
in the chair and as the chair turned, at the same time,
four tubes filled with whipped cream sprayed the person.
-The Pie Coaster- The
pie coaster was a platform with a red cart on it. Like a
roller coaster, this cart goes zooming down and up,
through curves and comes to a stop. The first stage of
this coaster is going through a banner reading "What
Would" then the next banner say "You Do?"
and the final stop was a huge pie facing you as you go
slamming through it.
-The Wall-O-Stuff- Each
contestant recieved a token at the start of the show. At
the end of the show, Marc's assistant for the day would
use a lotto machine to pick an audience member's number.
That, sometimes lucky audience member would come up to a
part of the set with both small and big doors. Marc would
ask "Pick a door between one and twenty." The
person would pick what ever door he or she wanted. Behind
whatever door he or she picked, there would be a prize
such as a hat, or a tote bag. Or there were would be a
whipped cream blaster, similar to the ones at the Pie
Wash. There would also be pies! One more thing, there
were notes handed to you on a silver platter, saying
things such as, "You look dirty from head to spleen,
goto the Pie Wash, you'll be squeaky clean." Or
maybe, something about the Pie Pod, or maybe the Pie
Coaster.
