“Finally taking over”

Got these Friends

Who call me just everyday

With nothing on their minds

And I never really have anything to say

So I bullshit my way through

Just to make them all feel good

Doing like I think I should

And I say its all right

Its ok but not today

I cant be revolving around you

No more he said this

No more he said that

Y’all can kiss my butt

‘cause I don’t give a

no more he said this

no more he said that

Y’all can kiss my butt

‘cause I’m finally taking over me.

From 9 to 6

The tv talk shows pollute my mind

The people that they pick are asinine

And I cant believe I watch sometimes

“Nothing I would change”

It was 1973, two Buster Browns on my feet

And in 1976 is when I lost my two front teeth

And from 1978 through 1983

A tomboy is what I was ….young and wild …. Sweet virginity

In 1986 … highscool made me cry

And in that same crazy year

Was the first time I got high

Oh life, sweet grass, cut glass

Being cool … my teachers always said

I would never ever get ahead but….

I did what I did

From the time I could walk to the Time I could talk

I did what I did and I know the taste of humble pie

I did what I did

From the day I was born till the day than I die

I did what I did

Theres nothing I would change about me

“The Search for Love”

Mamas got a problem deep under her robe

Poppys  her treatin so damn cold

You saw what mad love could do, you were only two

Didn’t even know how to tie your shoes

Your big brother took his anger out on you

And now youre left with scares that don’t match

Jordans home is a castle in his mind

Where the elephants fly

The queen cant dance and the dog gets high

And the powder lies

The alarm goes off

Must search for love

A single blast … that kills the dove

The sun went black … but its not enough

To guide him in his search for love

Mama packed the bags, said boys don’t look back

I’m gonna do the best to get us out of this mess

But as they headed up the highway of hope

Mama decided to comfort her soul with sweet dope

Your big brother brought it home one day

Now your little family is going insane.

“I promise you”

In the morning,
When I wake dear,
Your memory comforts me.
In the darkness,
When I'm frightened,
I can see you in my dreams.
Though I'm far dear, Though we're parted,
I know that time can change nothing.
So if you feel afraid,
And if your hope is gone,
Just remember all these things I promise you

I will move heaven.
I will move hell and earth to be where you are.
I will move heaven.
And it may take one life,
And it may take forever,
But I promise you.

As I sail through,
Stormy seas, dear,
You come to still my heart.
As I walk through,

The path of danger,
You lead me through the dark.
Though I'm far dear,
And though we're parted,
I know that time can change nothing.
So if you fell alone,
And if your faith is gone,
Just remember all these things I promised you

I will move heaven.
I will move hell and earth to be where you are.
I will move heaven.
I will move hell and earth to be where you are.
I will move heaven.
And it may take this life,
It may take forever,
But I promise you
I promise
you.
