Maria Aitken Maria plays Di Harding, Rollo's assistant at the zoo, and of course was also Archie's wife Wendy in the smash hit A Fish Called Wanda, also starring John Cleese, Michael Palin, Kevin Kline and Jamie Lee Curtis. She has also appeared in Palin's, Ripping Yarns as Mrs Otway in the episode "Whinfrey's Last Case (episode 2.1). Cynthia Cleese Johns daughter Cynthia plays Pip, a young zoo keeper and she has also played Archie's daughter Portia in A Fish Called Wanda, although credited Cynthia Caylor. Terrance Conely Terrance plays The Man in the Straw Hat in Fierce Creatures, a one line wonder, but in the past he's contributed greatly to Cleese's comedy Fawlty Towers. He appeared as Mr Wareing in the episode "A Touch of Class", the first Fawlty Towers made. He persisted for his drinks while Basil was preoccupied with "Lord Melburry" and lost his temper beautifully. Then, he appeared in Fawlty Towers again, in the episode Waldorf Salad (episode 2.3), as Mr Johnstone, a man complaining that the shrimp are off. Terrance also appears uncredited in A Fish Called Wanda, sitting in the plane at the end of the film. Ronnie Corbett Comedy veteran Ronnie Corbett plays a sea lion and penguin loving keeper named Reggie in Fierce Creatures, but its not the first time he's worked with John Cleese. He appeared in David Frost's The Frost Report, on several occasions, and also appeared on the 30th anniversary Life of Python. Tom Georgeson Tom Georgeson appears in Fierce Creatures admiring a young sea lion impersinator. He was, of course, one of the main characters of A Fish Called Wanda, George Tomson. John Bardon Eastender John Bardon plays an oggling sea lion spectator alongside Tom Georgeson in Fierce Creatures, but he's also appeared in John Cleese's 1986 film, Clockwise as a confused ticket inspector expected to recite a speech. Anthony Pedley The third of our dirty old men, commenting on the plumage of the sea lion impersinator, has also appeared as an irate driver in A Fish Called Wanda, losing his wig to an equally irate Otto. |
